Taqueria El Tio Juan

So clean! Excellent char on all the meat. Would come back. We had the al pastor and the carne asada. Area around though may make you feel a little uneasy so keep that in your decision making. The salsa was a little tart though.

Two 5-Star reviews on Yelp, guess I better try this place. The interior was simple, clean and nice. Service was friendly and prompt. (It comes with sour cream, cheese, rice, beans, onions, cilantro, and salsa).This burrito was fairly large for a regular burrito. It weighed in at nearly 21-oz, and the price was fair. The tortilla had a nice aroma and was nicely grilled.Initially, I found the burrito to be salty from the birria meat. But they included limes in my order to try and offset that salty taste. The lengua added a rich flavor. But it wasn't quite a perfect burrito in that it didn't have enough beans. I like the added texture and creamiest of beans. It would of given this 2-meat burrito better balance. The added fiber of beans would of made the burrito more filling. There's nothing wrong with a delicious burrito that's mainly meat, but after awhile you're hungry again. Free Chips were a big plus! These fresh, hand cut chips were super crunchy and crisp! I wish I had ordered some guac! Would I go back? Yes! 4-star review, but close to 5-stars!

Spoke with the owners children they are true Oaklanders! I told them I would give this place a try. I went in and the place is very nice. It's in International Blvd right in the heart of Oakland. Ordered the burrito and it was very very good! The BEST thing I ate here were the hand cut tortilla chips and the hot salsa was delicious and spicy! The daughter who is a culinary trained chef as well as her husband, told me about her carrot cake. So I had to give it a try she warned me that it came with pineapple, I tried it and couldn't taste the pineapple it was a good carrot cake very moist. Dad is proud to serve Loard's Ice Cream here and it is prominently displayed. Dad and mom are very nice people and I can't wait to want another "Oakland" Burrito...I'll be back here

Was trying to go to a different spot a few blocks down but the street was closed so we decided to check this out when we found parking right outside. So glad we did!!First, the place was very clean, including the restrooms. The two ladies who helped us at the register were very sweet and they noticed we ordered one asada burrito for our kids to share because when they brought it to the table it was cut in half and they brought an extra plate. We appreciated the gesture since we forgot to ask for all that!The food itself was delicious. They serve chips while you wait and those chips were home made and perfectly crunchy without being greasy. The salsa had a good kick, too. The meat in the burrito al pastor was generously served and tasted great. They also gave the option to choose from whole or refried beans. I would definitely go back. They also have ice cream and fresh fruit smoothies. We were too stuffed to try but it looked good.

Spicy chicken on point!! Service is good. You can never go wrong with the tortas they sell

Best burritos in Oakland My absolute favorite is the spicy chicken burrito with everything Their sauces are so good Highly recommend Horchata 10/10

The burritos and tortas are fresh and the restaurant is clean the service was excellent. I love that they are in the Fruitvale area. Their taco truck on foothill is also great.

i've been going to the food truck since i was a baby! (i'm 20 now) best tacos ever. literally deserves more than 5 stars.

Love it here they have a wide variety of food and desserts. I go here for lunch for the fast service and delicious food.
