Sushi Confidential @ The Plex

Having eaten at the sushi confidential in downtown Campbell , we had high hopes for the one in San Jose at The Plex, but were sadly disappointed by the quality of the food, the service and the ambience.The service was very slow, the selection is minimal compared to the restaurant in Campbell, the prices were high, they impose a 17% gratuity on all food (which is served from a cafeteria style bar), and the seating area, while large and comfortable, has loud music blaring from countless overhead speakers and you are surrounded by TVs on all sides.Bottomline, this is no better than your basic mall food court. The food is primarily available as an afterthought to parents & onlookers watching their friends and kids play soccer, arcade games, volleyball, roller hockey, etc. ... So definitely not a place we would go for a quality sushi meal again.

40 minutes after ordering they call us and tell us they are out of rice. We asked for a refund.

Amazing menu and attentive service. The food was interesting and excellent. Artistic cocktail menu and great concoctions. We consider this place a real find in San Jose.

I love sushi . Every time I go to a new place I always try to order one unique roll off of the menu . I had ordered the shishito-kamikaze . This was my first time here . This was the best roll I have ever had ! As soon as I saw it on the menu I knew that's what I was going to order . It is very unique to see tempered pepper in a roll . The flavors all balance so well and the freshness of the cilantro and jalapeño on top was perfection! I will definitely be back . Great job!
