Really unique sushi rolls here, as well as Korean style sashimi & other Korean dishes. For apps we had the calamari rings. These were super thick and served with a barbecue marinara sauce combination. We also tried three signature rolls here, all of which tasted decently fresh. The smoky tempura roll was indeed smoky, and very saucy + slightly sweet. Definitely a unique roll! The Suro Titanic roll was HUGE. Jaw breaking even. The name was very fitting. We also had the Sushi + Sashimi + Roll Combo. I really liked the spicy tuna roll, but I thought the rest of the fish quality on the nigiri and sashimi wasn't anything crazy. Lastly we had the spicy kimchi ramen! Yum!Service was inconsistent. Some workers were nice and others not. We finished with complimentary mochi ice cream which was awesome! Casual ambience.

since the last time i've been here, it seems their quality has gone down. i was a bit disappointed to be honest. my main complaint was the sushi rolls - there wasn't anything wrong with the flavors of our food. but the presentation was severely lacking and off-putting. the rolls were not fully wrapped by the fish, as you can see in the pictures & it seemed as if they had just used whatever leftover scraps as the outer/top fish. the pieces were also not cut evenly & everything just felt inconsistent. we ordered salmon sashimi & they gave us extra pieces of salmon belly sashimi on the side. glad to see that has not changed at least. as we were finishing our food, we got approached 3 times in the span of 5 minutes, asking if we were done or still working on it. this was around 8:30pm but they don't close until 10pm so i know this wasn't like we were pushing them past closing. the approach felt rude and rushed. are tables not allowed to enjoy their last bites and/or continue conversing a bit post-meal??this is a casual dining spot, but im not so sure if the prices were worth it this time around...

I took my date here and got the $45 not in the menu secret item fresh octopus that was still moving! I been seen it in the past and I wanted to feel the suction of the legs and finally got to try. I like it and it's fun to eat. They had Xmas lights up and have a nice interior. Lost Of Koran I heard Service was great and we also ordered the caterpillar roll and rainbow roll. My date said it was so-so as they were very picky coming from Japan and I enjoyed it.My fave was the octopus for it was what I came here for and bite: to avoid choking; makes sure you chew well and add color to your dish. I would come back

Ordered food to go from Suro and had higher expectations due to the Yelp reviews. Our order consisted of 2 bento boxes (chicken teriyaki/combination tempura and grilled saba/tonkatsu), chicken karage, spider roll, R-Dragon roll, and the Superman roll.Parking was really easy in this lot and food was ready on time. The rolls were solid but nothing out of the ordinary. Saba was overcooked but tonkatsu was really good though the sauce was a little off for me. Didn't try the chicken teriyaki and tempura but it looked pretty good. The chicken karage did not look traditional, possibly because this restaurant is more Korean influenced. I didn't care for it at all and the sauce was the same as the tonkatsu sauce. Overall, the food was fine and prices are reasonable but did not stand out for me.

Nice waitresses. Rolls were pretty big. Only need one role per person to get full. Plenty of fish on top of the roll. Hamachi Kama: 5 stars. Plenty of meat. Crispy skin. Good ponzu sauce. Crispy rice with spicy tuna: 4.5 stars. This one was my favorite with the crispy rice and spicy tuna. The texture also contrast well. Plenty of kick from the spicy tuna. S dragon roll: 3.5 stars. salmon and avocado over shrimp tempura roll. Good flavors. Spider man: 3 stars. Was pretty spicy. Decent flavors but nothing stood out. Hamachi lover: 2 stars. plenty of hamachi inside and out. 2 stars because the hamachi inside had an odor I didn't care for. Overall it's a decent sushi restaurant with lots of options.

Came to Suro with friends, we were seated right away on a Friday night. Parking is easy to find. The service here was phenomenal! Our waiter was very friendly. We ordered the Sunshine, Suro Titanic, and the Santa Cruz roll. The fish here is fresh and the size of the specialty rolls are more than enough to fill you up! We ordered a round of Sake Bombs and the waiter taught us how to properly do them. It was such a fun experience and I will definitely add this to my list of top sushi spots in SJ!

I discovered this restaurant on TikTok, where they serve live octopus and a variety of fish. I was specifically looking for a dish featured in a video, but I learned that it needs to be pre-ordered, which the video didn't mention. I don't blame the restaurant for this; it was more of a misunderstanding. Thankfully, we were still able to order what we wanted, though some seafood items weren't in season, so we had to choose alternatives.Be prepared for a wait, as it takes about an hour for the food to be prepared. We spent roughly 2 to 3 hours in the restaurant. The portions are quite generous, making it ideal for larger groups. Each meal comes with side dishes, soup, corn cheese, octopus, and rice. We also ordered a scallop roll, which was very filling, and we ended up with leftovers. Overall, it was an interesting experience!

Yummy! My fiance found this spot via yelp and I'm glad we gave it a try. The restaurant is huge with plenty of seating and an open layout. Service was great and the waitress was Korean so it was nice chatting with her. She recommended the galbi over bulgogi and I'm glad we gave it a try. It was perfectly sweet and nicely charred. The sushi was huge and great for the price. Will be back!

First time here, also the last. The quality of the food is reminiscent of sushi boat. The rolls looked like they were made by a sushi chef in training, not a professional. The quality of the beef teriyaki and chicken katsu were sub par at best. The miso soup was extremely salty, and the salad had way too much lettuce and not enough dressing. The service wasn't much to write home about it either. We were greeted by a very friendly man, but the woman who was our server was not attentive or friendly at all. Frankly, she didn't seem like she wanted to be there. She took our order, brought our food, and that was the end of it. We didn't see her back in our section for the rest of the meal. I had to flag down another waitress to bring our check, because when I did see our waitress, she ignored me when I tried to get her attention. The restaurant itself looks nice, and I don't have any complaints about the decor. There was a consistent foul odor, but we weren't seated close to the restrooms, so that was also a cause for concern. All in all, it's overpriced, and the quality is lacking. You do get gigantic portions, but what is that worth when you don't want to eat any of it?

I am so glad I found this place! My party of 4 got seated right away at 8:45pm on a Friday night. It was lively and we instantly were feeling the Friday night vibes here. The service was amazing! All of the people who were working were attentive and very conversational, even though it was busy. We truly appreciated the interactions we had with staff. Food: very delicious as well. The pieces atop the sushi rolls were FAT -- when I mean FAT, I mean F A T. It was packed inside and out. We ordered a couple appetizers and really loved the homemade Tonkatsu sauce :) I will be returning with my family. I love how they stay open until 10pm, since not many places in the area are open past 9pm. Thank you!
