Ahh Soo Ja is the korean comfort food I crave. Soo Ja across the lot is where I like to go with a big group of friends to have the Kimchi Fried Rice, Fried Chicken, and Rice Cakes. Soo Ja Seolleongtang has the more soupy food that I love. I still came with a big group and we each ordered our own item and had a lot to bring home. I got the Soo Ja Special - Galbi Tang which I would get again and again. The portions were super generous and it tasted so good! The meat fell off the bone super easily. I had some friends order the cold noodles and they were also very good. Service here was quick and the waiters were super friendly and proactive. I'll have to come back to try the Galbi Jim!

If you're looking for satisfying and warming soups, this is the place to go. Across from the Soo Ja fusion restaurant, this restaurant serves seolleongtang, galbitang, and more Korean specialties that aren't often found in Korean BBQ focused restaurants. They also have galbijjim here but I have not yet tried.I have tried their galbitang and ttukbaegi clay pot bulgogi. The galbitang includes massive ribs and a big bowl of clear broth with glass noodles. It can definitely be shared with a party of two. As for the ttukbaegi clay pot bulgogi, it was a much smaller pot/bowl but had a surprisingly large amount of meat. Both were delicious!!Can't wait to come back when it's warmer to try their naengmyeon!

I've come here twice, and the second time was redeeming. My first visit, the food was splendid but the service was dismissive, to summarize it. The experience as a whole had highs and lows. Second time around, staff I hadn't seen the last time, and nicer interactions. It's a smaller menu but we still felt a bit rushed to order.Galbijjim is the highlight. I'm usually not in the mood to drive over to SF and wait in line for Daeho when I'm craving it, and Soo Ja does this dish well with the flaming cheese and the portions.Seolleongtang was soothing, meaty, and enjoyable. Paired with a more flavorful Ttukbaegi, it was a filling, balanced meal.Doenjang Bibimbap wasn't my favorite, but it may be an acquired taste. Fun to mix, lol.Galbitang was also hearty and the meat off the bone was tender. This was good, for sure, along with the sides and rice.I can see this spot growing in popularity as they genuinely serve some good Korean food and there's plenty of parking, even with how busy the lot can get with so many other establishments. I'd like to give it five stars after a (hopefully) pleasant third visit in the near future.

Soup season is year-round for me, but with these super chilly winter days recently, soup has been a constant craving for me. Soo Ja Seolleongtang serves up variations of the ox bone broth along with a handful of other Korean specialties like galbitang (beef short rib soup), galbijjim (braised beef short ribs), and naengmyeon (cold noodles). The interior is spacious and clean, and service was attentive when we went. The staff constantly checked on us and offered us refills on our banchan.Sooja Seolleongtang. If you've never had seolleongtang, know that it intentionally comes unseasoned. You have control over the amount of salt and pepper. The Sooja comes with beef brisket, shank, and noodles, and it was the perfect way to warm up. Galbitang. No complaints here. It gave us everything we expect from a proper galbitang -- fall-off-the-bone meat, glass noodles, and a clear, tasty broth.Definitely will be back to fulfill my soup cravings!

A really great authentic Korean soup spot in Fremont! I ordered the Galbi Tang and it comes with all the side dishes. The meat was fall off the bone tender and the glass noodles underneath were very tasty. Service was quick and they even serve Yakult when paying for the bill. Ambiance is elevated fast casual.

Ambiance: Soo Ja Seolleongtang offers a clean and modern interior. It's the kind of place where you can settle in comfortably and enjoy a hearty meal without feeling rushed.Service : The service is amazing. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable about the menu offering excellent recommendations and I felt very taken care of throughout my dining experience. We were quickly seating to and had our food out quickly which made our experience very enjoyable.Food: The galbi jjim was a showstopper with tender and flavorful beef short ribs braised to perfection. The star dish in my opinion was the soo ja seolleongtang. It delivered such a rich and nourishing broth. Every bite felt like a warm hug.

Traditional Korean beef soups served by the same family that owns the fusion cuisine shop in the same mall, Soo Ja Seolleongtang welcomes many local Korean community members as well as fans of clean, healthy soups. The large parking lot is seldom full but this mall packs quite a few good but possibly hidden gems given that this location is a bit awkwardly located within Fremont. It's not near the city center and therefore can be easily overlooked but do not pass here without trying all there is to offer! The food in this mall is fantastic! As you enter, you'll be greeted by their staff and welcomed to sit in their four-person tables. They can push them together to accommodate larger parties but during our lunch visit, aside from a large table of older Korean folks who seem to either know the owner or are regulars, most parties were pretty small. The menu is quite simple - there are a few variations of their soup with options for different kinds of boiled meat and noodles and some other classic Korean staples including bibimbap and pancakes (mung bean). They have individual sizes but also shareable ones for the table. We ended up ordering the modeum suyuk, a boiled meat platter, which includes brisket, flank, tendons, and oxtails. The whole thing is topped with fresh chives that add to the fragrance and taste of the dish; they're very healthy to eat as well. There is a bit of soup that goes with the meat but if you're hankering for more the soup, get the tang (soup). The modeum suyuk comes with two bowls of rice and banchan (kimchi and daikon). You may also order extra rice and noodles if you prefer. We also got an order of the mung bean pancake and they were so crispy on the outside yet soft and tender on the inside. It tasted great with the dipping sauce but also just fine without it. Felt moderately healthy knowing it was vegetarian. The staff were great about explaining the menu and checking in on us periodically for tea or water. They were friendly and very welcoming. After the meal service was over, we were also given yakult yogurt drinks to help with digestion. It was a nice way to top off the mess and settle our full stomachs.Overall, Soo Ja Seolleongtang is must go if you are a fan or haven't tried the traditional Korean beef broth and boiled meats. I've tried a couple in South Bay and this place is definitely comparable at a more reasonable price. The space is cozy and not at all crowded which makes the dining experience comfortable and fulfilling on a cold day. Soup fans will enjoy this and health nuts will find satisfaction in the minimal ingredients used to make their delicious specialities.

The store here is actually decently big! Seating is best for smaller parties. Prices are reasonable. Service is good. I hope they expand the menu a bit to order more meat? Felt like sullangtang didn't have enough. Galbitang was good, but tasted a bit too heavy in soy sauce. Overall, would come here again for simple soup!

Seolleongtang, an ox bone soup, is pretty elusive in the Bay for what I believe to be good reason. Despite being seemingly simple, the bone broth is a labor of love, requiring hours to simmer and extract the fatty marrow flavor off the bones. More often than not, restaurants miss the mark with their seolleongtang: the soup being not milky nor deep enough for my liking. Soo Ja Seolleongtang was disappointing to say the least. I ordered the yangji seolleongtang which included just brisket and white noodles which I declined. Lo and behold, it came with both but I was in no mood to make a fuss about it. The brisket portion was fair but the noodle portion was generous to my chagrin. Traditional seolleongtangs are seasoned at the table with just the bones imparting the soup's only flavor. Soo Ja's was pedestrian. The soup was too light with none of the richness typical of a good seollangtang. Rarely do I add salt to my seolleongtangs but I found myself loading it heavy here. The service was also quite slow with the lack of water and banchan refills in addition to the long wait time after finishing our meals to get the check. Overall, I don't think I'll be back. In case I do get a hankering for seolleongtang, I guess I'll have to hold it in until my socal trips roll around.

Ambiance: A extremely clean and modern seolleongtang restaurant with plenty of seating.Service: the service was amazing. The staff was kinda and caring. You can tell they care about every single person that walks through the door.Food: To me this is the best seolleongtang place in the bay. We got Sooja seolleongtang and the mungbean pancakes. The soup was delicious. It had a perfect balance of hearty and clean taste. The meat was tender and paired nicely with the noodles. My favorite was the mung bean pancakes. They were a perfect level of crispy and savory. I found myself wanting more even when I was extremely full.Note: I highly recommend this restaurant and am excited to go back to try more of the menu! The mungbean pancake is a special item not on the menu. It's on a paper on the side I believe.
