Sistory Thai in Albany has a cozy interior and offers a menu of Chef Special dishes featuring regional Thai dishes hard to find in other restaurants! We started with the Papaya Salad (shredded papaya, carrots, green beans, tomatoes, chili, and crushed peanuts) and the Larb Kai (ground chicken, onions, cilantro, rice powder), both of which were intensely sour and spicy! From Northern Thailand, the Kanoom Jeen Nam Ngew was a stew made of rice noodles in a dark pork rib and shrimp paste broth, served with pork ribs, pork blood cubes, ground pork, shredded cabbage, bean sprouts, and chopped long beans. The noodle soup had a nice balance between the dark, meaty broth and the fresh vegetables and brought me back to the streets of Thailand! Also from the North was Kao Soi, made of egg noodles and braised chicken thighs in an intensely spiced yellow curry broth, topped with pickled mustard greens and crispy egg noodles! My favorite dish (though not by far) was the Kao Mok Kai, which fused Northern and Southern Thai flavors on one plate. This came with a crispy breaded chicken thigh fillet served with roti (a crispy, layered flatbread), yellow curry sauce, cucumber salad, and turmeric-spiced jasmine rice, which was addictively delicious. This was an incredible meal, and everything we had here was beautifully-plated, flavorful, and on point!

Really disappointed. We ordered 2 different dishes. The garlic noodles and the string bean with tofu. The garlic noodles were a good sized portion but as you can see in my photo, the string beans were like 3 spoonfuls. It was so depressing for 16 dollars WITHOUT RICE. I called the restaurant and told the woman on the phone. She said she'd have the manager call me back, they never did. Unprofessional AND bullshit prices. Can't believe this place has so many good reviews. I guess that's what's become of the bay area, people just expect tiny portions for 16 dollars now and don't say anything. Thai Table is way better. Never going here again.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere! It felt extremely comfy. I just don't remember sitting on the side where the door opens because it does get chilly if it's windy outside. The waiter was super accommodating and polite. The food was amazing and full of flavor. Definitely recommend coming here.Portions are good too.

I stumbled upon this small, unassuming restaurant which had good reviews. Got there as soon as the doors opened at 4:30 and were kindly seated and advised by the waiter on dishes and drinks. We started with appetizers ordering the curry puffs, which were very tasty, chicken satay, which was a meal in itself, dumplings, which were just so-so, fresh spring rolls, and a green papaya salad. Honestly, we probably didn't need to order any entrées after that, but we did. We went for the whole fried branzino which was really good with the crispy skin, but the sauce a little too sweet. We also ordered a kind of stirfry with very tasty and properly cooked pork belly. We ordered the lobster ravioli in tom kai broth, which was good. Overall, the service was good, the portions were healthy, and the ambience was nice with lovely light jazz music playing. My only problem was that the food leaned on salty and too sweet. Dining with a person who was very sensitive to that, made the meal less enjoyable. I'm not sure I would run back to this restaurant, but would also not discourage people from giving it a try.

Was looking for lunch and stumbled upon this place. They offer lunch specials, a great deal that includes an appetizer, entree, and a drink. Ordered the fried tofu, spicy basil, and Thai iced tea. The spicy basil was very flavorful and slightly on the sweeter end for me, not too spicy. The crispy tofu was hitting the spot with how crispy it was and the Thai iced tea was a great chaser. The Thai iced coffee could go for more coffee taste. It was mild tasting. The pad kee mao was spicy and the crispy shrimp rolls are great when it's crunchy and burns your tongue. Definitely worth visiting for the lunch special.

With a weekend full of heavy rain showers, it was the perfect time to dip into Sistory Thai Kitchen in Berkeley for a solo date! There's plenty of paid parking spots outside, but coming after hours it was nice to skip the additional fees for once! Upon entering, I loved the overall aesthetic and vibe of the interior ~ warm, inviting, bright and just lovely! With this spot being a smaller business, I did notice they take reservations if wanting to secure/snag your table ahead of time (and have outdoor seating on a nice day as well!)Service was super attentive, and my meal came out promptly! I'm a huge fan of Pad Se Ew (with chicken), and also ordered the Spring Rolls as an app to start. Both dishes were fresh and full of flavor, and I can't wait to come back with a group to try more items from their fun & innovative menu! They also offer lunch specials during the week and Brunch on the weekends. My husband and I took a trip to Thailand for our honeymoon and have been searching for a spot that makes Khao Soi (a Northern-Thai curry noodle soup) and this dish is on their menu..so looking forward to round two next time with my husband!

We came here close to noon on President's Day to celebrate my sister's bday. It's smaller space than I imagined, but I've seen way smaller restaurants with much more limited seating. It's a quint atmosphere with the design and I enjoyed the Thai pop music that was playing in the background!Everything sounded good, so we ordered a bunch of stuff and had it family style. Interestingly enough, even though we came for brunch, we only ordered two brunch items. Let me just fast forward to the highlights: Thai Tea Pancake was new and unique to me, but very well executed. It tastes exactly how it sounds like! The lobster ravoli was also a hit. The ravoli filling was nice and smooth, not mushy. And it really paired well with the Tom Kha! The presentation for the lobster ravoli was good as well. Their roti's in general was good. The roti-rito is hard to share with 6 people though. The only thing I didn't like was the Kanoom Jeen Nam Ngew. That might just be personal preference. But I saw there was not one, but two thumbs on it. So the thought it that it ain't just good, gotta be hella good! Noodles were good, soup was good, the spare rib meat was very nice and tender. The fall off the bone tender, but the pickled mustards and other green were a little bit too sour for my taste. Other than that everything was fantastic. Staff was very friendly and attentive as well! It was a cold day, and we were seated near the entrance. Our server turned on a portable heater and aimed it towards us. And when customers who left and left the front door open with the cold winds blowing in, the server came to the front and shut the door for us. Very very nice and considerate staff!

Flavorful food, cozy ambiance, and welcoming staff made Sistory a great place for dinner. All of our dishes were delicious, and the soups had a surprising amount of things in them. The garlic noodles were the star of the show though - the pork belly was indeed very crispy. Our 3 dishes were about $60 before tip/tax which is super reasonable for the Bay Area. Would recommend for a nice casual night out!

Hands down the best Thai food on this side of the Bay Area. A warm and friendly place with the staff waiting on you with pleasure. The food was as authentic as it gets. A true hidden gem and a must. You will not be disappointed.
