I don't get how they are so empty every time I go lol but I love it because their food is amazing, workers are extremely attentive, it's spacious, and clean! Their rice noodle is not like pho noodles. It's more fat and round. I got tricked two times lolol i am gonna try their flat wide noodles next time. Definitely a recommendation! It's a whole mall of chinese stores so there is ample parking as well.

Good spot for Chinese food with huge portions and good prices.I came here with two other friends for Saturday lunch around 11:30 and it wasn't busy at all. They take reservations via Yelp but I don't think it's necessary.Ordering is done via iPad. They have a huge menu selection so it takes a while to go through all the options.Because "noodle" is in the restaurant name, we decided to share 2 noodle dishes + one meat dish. It's nice that for many of the noodle dishes, you can customize the level of spice as well as the type of noodle. We shared:Eggplant and string beans with rice noodles ($16.99) - found the noodle itself bland, but the eggplant and string beans were super flavorful. Plus I loved the wide noodles which had a ruffled edge.Dan dan mian ($14.99) - decent but I found this bland as wellTomato and beef stew in clay pot ($26.99) - my favorite dish of the meal as it was a LOT of beef and very flavorful. I used the tomato-based gravy from this dish to mix in with the noodles and it was perfect.Overall I enjoyed my meal here and would love to come back to try their many other menu options!

Great lunch. Ordered the pan fried buns. HOT HOT HOT. Wait at least 10 minutes before eating. Soup WILL squirt out. Very tasty. But you have been warned. Also got the sticky rice with pork - very comforting, something that my mom could have cooked. Son also got the lamb with cumin which he liked a lot.Service was fine, he brought extra napkins and stuff when we asked. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Special Noodle is a chain in the Bay Area and this location is located inside the same mall as 99 Ranch, right across from 99 Ranch! The star of the meal is the Soup Pan Fried Buns which I never tried before but was super intrigued to try! It was similar to a XLB, but in a bun form. The bun is steamed, then the bottom 1/3 of the bun is pan-fried! This creates an excellent combination of textures with the soft chewy bun on top and the crispy bun foundation. The bun comes in a quantity of 6 with a sprinkle of black sesame seeds on top. The waiter warned me that these are very hot, so I poked a hole on top and it was definitely steamy and hot haha. Lots of soup inside and it was tasty, I would definitely get the Soup Pan Fried Buns again! After I bit a hole and drank the soup, I dipped it in soy sauce and vinegar mixture with a dab of chili oil, yum!The pork ear with green onion was good too, it's a bit on the expensive side of pork ears but the portion is large as you can see in the pictures! You don't see much green onion in the dish, but once in a while you'll chew on a green onion and taste it, but very sparingly! Pork ears are good but hesitant to call it Pork Ear with Green Onions! The noodles were OK. Good, but did not find it amazing! First soup is the Pork Belly Noodle Soup with regular noodles. They had huge chunks of tender pork and plenty of noodles. I really enjoyed the pickled veggies in the soup. The noodle had a nice chew and it was a good size, I can't imagine this with the "thick noodles".Second soup was the Very Spicy Beef Noodle Soup with Flat Noodles! The flat noodles were fun to eat and went well with the soup. The soup had a good portion of Beef cuts, but I wish the meat was a bit more tender like the pork belly. The flat noodles were quite thin, but in a good way and was tasty with the beef and veggies.

Looking for dumplings - checkLooking for noodles and soups - checkLooking for tasteful Chinese food - checkDrop in, check out the menu on their tablet and easily place your order. If you have questions about ingredients, don't be shy and ask, the staff is friendly and helpful. We've tried many soup pan fried buns and Special Noodle's version is a must try!Since this was our first time trying them out we ordered too much, but that's leftovers to enjoy for later. Portion sizes are enough to feed 2-4 people per plate, which matches the price ranges.

I don't mind turkey. I just don't die if I don't have it on Thanksgiving, though I have to admit I still miss my mom's green Jell-O mold with cottage cheese. For Thanksgiving, Jamie W and I usually find a restaurant that doesn't serve turkey (Asian usually), make a reservation on OpenTable, and be done with dinner by 7PM. This year we plain forgot to plan anything, so we decided to try an untried place in the otherwise jammed Pacific East Plaza. On Thanksgiving evening, the parking lot was uncharacteristically half-empty, even though 99 Ranch was open. We chose this restaurant right across from the supermarket. The dining room was certainly set up for customers, but there was only one solitary diner looking quite content with his dim sum consumption. There were certainly plenty of menu selections, so we were spending an inordinate amount of time studying the menu on a tablet. We decided on the $17.99 Braised Pork Belly over Noodles (photo: https://yelp.to/Gf5FJrRqVj). The pork was tender if a bit saucy, and there are never enough noodles for my taste. We also went for the $11.99 Salt & Pepper Chicken, quite a pile of crispy little tenders that came with an unnecessarily sweet cherry sauce for dipping (photo: https://yelp.to/o97ZzbKGMI). As our vegetable side dish, the $19.99 Hand Ripped Griddle Cabbage turned out to be a miss because it was completely saturated in sesame oil (photo: https://yelp.to/tu16WGXi6W).The saving grace came with the $12.99 Steamed Pork Soup Dumplings (photo: https://yelp.to/KyDUO-_qnU). They were appropriately filled with hot broth, and the minced pork and dumpling skins had just the right consistency. Overall the food was pretty good but kinda pricey with no real standouts to make waiting for a parking space worthwhile on a weekend. Nevertheless, for a last-minute Thanksgiving dinner option, we could've done a lot worse.FOOD - 3 stars...plentiful and pricey, just missed the markAMBIANCE - 4 stars...plenty of tables and not too loudSERVICE - 3.5 stars...mostly attentive TOTAL - 3 stars...not quite destination dining for usRELATED - Exploring Richmond? The food was wonderful! The flavors were amazing, the textures were good, the presentations lovely, and the service was excellent. We had the sweet garlic eggplant which was a nice medley of eggplant, slivered bamboo shoots, wood ear, carrots, garlic and green onions in the most delectable sauce that was a perfect combination of tangy and very slightly sweet. This is one of the best eggplant dishes I have ever had!We also had the beef wrap (wrapped in onion pancake) which were huge in portion and very good. The soup pan fried buns were fun to eat but they were a tad too greasy. I also found the skins to be rather doughy. Be careful when you eat this as the soup in the bun/dumpling will squirt out unless you have it over a bowl. The regular steamed soup dumplings were good but I found the skins on this to be rather thick. We also had red oil pork wontons which hubby liked. All portions of food were generous. The service was excellent and the place was very clean.
