One of the most impressive pad Thais I've had as of late since Bangkok! The balance of flavors were beautiful. Hidden jem spot that has its own significant glamour and charm, but also quaint, humble and straight to the point. Decor is beautiful. The dining area can accommodate while still feeling intimate. This probably isn't for larger groups though. Staff were also very nice! I once walked by while they were closed and a staff working that day still took the time to get me a menu for my next visit. The Pad Thai Cha Ya is unforgettable. Everything about it was perfect, and I've never had this dish so the cream surprised me but absolutely impressed. The crab portion were large (probably lends to its price) and comes in different textures. Also got the pumpkin red curry and they do not bring down the spice here! True north Thailand style - something to keep in mind in regards to spice tolerance. The tofu was cooked perfectly and the pumpkin literally tasted like butter. Oh, and they also have singha on tap!! 5 stars across, easily.

My s/o and I discovered this place last year and fell in love with the food, service, ambiance, and hospitality. We come here sometimes and the main host/waiter always recognizes us! (Hello if you're reading ^___^) It's a family owned spot that has adopted a concept kitchen model and they change their menu with new items almost every month/few months. Because of this, we're always excited to see what new items they have. And yes, their main menu stays true to thai cuisine, yet there are other items with a twist. But it's not an overwhelmingly fusion place which I really appreciate. Without further ado, here are my takeaways of this place.Food: From the times I've been here the food has always been excellently prepared and absolutely phenomenal. With every dish my s/o and I have ordered, the flavors are always balanced and cooked well. My fav dish that I got recently was the Khao Sud Soi w/Steak.... just WOW. I personally love spicy food, and am pleased that some of their dishes are not too watered down for the western palate like other places. As for the sandos, I think they're good, however sometimes can be a little overcooked and dry. I'd love to have some more cabbage coleslaw for more "sauce" in it.Atmosphere: The restaurant is quite small as it's nestled underneath 2 apartments above and next door to Los Moles, but don't let that fool you. The interior is beautifully adorned with Thai trinkets both traditional and modern, art, pop culture references, quirky figurines/toys, yet it feels very homey and inviting.Suggestions: I'd love to see some thai inspired cocktails added to the menu :)

Solid Thai spot - I've toured all the Thai spots in east bay and I'd place it in the middle tier. Champa garden, farmhouse, pintoh, and the occasional imm thai all offer the best in my humble opinion. That said, the pad kee mao was really good! The sandwich - it's like good for what it was, but wouldn't feel compelled to try it again. Anyways if you're reading this matt, thank you for taking me here and treating me for my bday :') I really appreciated this meal with u

We rarely go to Emeryville, but now we have two reasons to! On a night when Good To Eat was closed we wandered into Secrets of Tiger. Twas a great night.Their Basil Fried Rice is delicious. Definitely order this. Their Green Curry: chef's kiss. We've tried so many Thai restaurants and this one flew towards the top of the list! Also, can we note how cute the decor is? Pictures cannot possibly capture this. There are adorable lightbulbs that have stars and the word "dream" inside, lush plants, colorful neon lights, and memorabilia hidden everywhere. They also have the BEST side of Thai chilis a girl could ask for. They even let me take some home! They're so warm and kind. Come for the spices and leave with smiles.

A friend who works in Emeryville told me about this place. We usually meet for lunches at Public Market and wanted to get something new into the rotation. What can I say? I really liked it. The place itself is colorful and vibrant, the service fast and friendly. The fellow diners looked like most of them were on their lunch break (it was noon). The menu is great, if you are a bit adventurous. It was a bit difficult to find something lower carb, so I just went with the pad See Ew haha. Low carb, low schmarb, right? The noodles had a very appealing flavor and the meat was quite juicy. The portion was on the smaller side, but more than enough for me (I know the husband would have bitched about it though...).My friend had a crazy milk toast tower with satey skewers stuck into it. It was filled with some kind of curry - a little sweet, a little spicy. I've never seen anything like it before. I think, I'll be back ;-)

21 Sept 2024 1PMFor lunch today, I closed my eyes and stuck my finger into the YELP app and my digit landed on Secrets. The place looks like a tiny hole in the wall from the outside. I was afraid our party of five wouldn't fit inside, but it is cosy and comfortable inside. Somehow they did some magic with the tables and chairs and I didn't feel crowded. The ambiance is charming with crystals and brightly colored this and that on the walls. Some kind of music that I didn't mind was playing during most of our meal. The music was fine until someone thought I might like some Jackson Five with my Pad Thai. No thank you. They don't really go together. The waitress was very friendly, diligent, cheerful and empathized with us as we tried to wave a persistent fly from eating at our table. I felt the portions should be a bit larger as the food was enjoyable and tasty but maybe not as good a value for the buck as some other Tai places we have eaten at.We ordered $131 worth of a Crispy Calamari , a Pad Tai, a Crab Fried Rice, a Fried Chicken, two Yellow Currys and a Mango Sticky Rice, two cups of Tea, a coffee and a coke. Enough to feed five - not too hungry guests. With tip for the waitress and the local government robbing us just south of $14 for the pleasure of bringing business to their city, it wasn't what you would call inexpensive. I believe our entire party of five enjoyed themselves though. As we were leaving. the place was getting to close until their dinner service. With smiles, staff members thanked each of us individually for our business while preparing to sit down for their lunch. "That looks good" I said to our waitress as I looked at their colorful lunch. "I'm getting hungry again.""Would you like to join us?" she replied with a smile. I actually felt as if she was serious about the invitation. What a charming lady. Customer service is very high in my book and I will try them again for that bit of graciousness and appreciation the staff showed us.
