I came here with a friend after catching a stand up show Saturday night at San Jose Improv. We were walking back to our car and realized that I hadn't eaten dinner. There were people inside eating and some of the food smelled good. I went in to order from the kiosk- unfortunately, the restaurant that I wanted to order from was listed as open on the kiosk, but turned out to be closed. That was disappointing. There was a man with a tablet who came out and explained that some of the restaurants were closed even though they were listed as open. There were limited non-dairy options that were still open and I had wanted to order a burger, but the options that were open mainly had dairy in them. I ended up ordering fries . Ketchup cost an additional $1 on top of the cost of the fries. There was a water fountain to fill up water bottles with room temperature filtered water. The area can be hard to find parking, so I wouldn't have come here if I weren't already in the neighborhood. I also got some firecracker momo that were deep fried and had a sweet sauce with red onions and was pretty good.

I went sitting there soft opening so there were only three restaurants open but I'm giving the food hall itself 5 stars cuz I see its big potential. It's a little further up Santa Clara Street than Walker so the main action of downtown is, maybe 15 minute walk from Cesar Chavez park. I like the way you order at kiosks and there's at least some limited seating. It'll be a super convenient place to get multiple cuisines in the same place. There was a lady running the place who is also business owner and she was truly awesome. Energetic and friendly. I'm looking forward to going back when all the restaurants are open. I'll post info on the food I ate directly on those restaurants links.

I was expecting something like the south first street market-- not San Pedro. I would say that this hall is even smaller. All ordering is via a kiosk and there is minimal seating- so I wouldn't recommend for a big group. There isn't much service, mostly dropping food to your table. We ordered the dim sum, which was good, but had trouble getting a glass of water at any of the establishments. I see this place as a lot of potential, it's just not quite there yet. I'm hopeful!

This is a food hall so you go in and order on the kiosk and within 15min you get your food. Generally the food is good. I really liked the butter chicken pizza. Which there was more sauce though. I like how you can just get a slice. Good value, thanks!

I love this concept of a one stop with tons of different food options under one roof. Currently there aren't tons of options, there's 4 however the ordering screens show there is a lot more coming. From the outside it looks like this place is huge, on the inside it's definitely a lot smaller. There is seating however I don't think nearly enough for when it gets busy with college kids and people working downtown on their lunch so the best bet is to just pick up. I ordered from Mercy Mediterranean and I got the grilled chicken plate. It was a hefty serving of seasoned grilled chicken over rice, a heaping helping of hummus and a veggie salad along with a pita on the side. The chicken was delicious! Perfectly seasoned, tender and juicy! I'm excited for this place to fully open so that I can try the other places that look like they're going to be really good as well.

San Jose Food Hall is a food hall / ghost kitchen kind of spot. Parking is a bit hit or miss, as it is mostly street parking in the downtown San Jose area, but I came a early in the day, so I was able to get metered parking right in front. It looks pretty modern on the exterior, it stood out and caught my attention a few times in the past, so I am glad to finally be able to check it out - the interior looks semi-modern and is spacious, but is not as bright. Ordering is through the kiosks inside, but you can only order from one restaurant at a time - I thought I could order everything together and I tried doing so, but the system did not let me. Service from the employee sitting by the front podium was good, she was friendly and welcoming - she was probably the only positive aspect of my whole experience here, as I did not enjoy any of the boba drinks I ordered from here. Plenty of seating, but not the cleanest - I had to pick the table that looked the cleanest / less sticky. Overall, I feel like the experience and drinks here was like 2 stars, but the service from the 1 employee at the front was good, hence the 3 stars instead.

first time eating at the dtsj food hall!pros:-LOTS of eateries to choose from! from vegan to kbbq, you can go crazy with food!-we ate from the japanese restaurant (ordered chicken teriyaki bento and miso soup) and it was pretty average! would give it a 7/10 for the price point of $15 for the bento and $4 for the miso soup-took about 10 minutes to pick up the food-seating area is very nice and clean-ordering process is easy with 5+ touch screenscons:-every order comes in a to go bag with lots of plastic - plastic containers, plastic sauce containers, plastic utensils (even if you're eating there you get a bag)-seating is limitedthere is a LOT of potential with the DTSJ food hall and i'm so excited it's finally open! can't wait to see more restaurants join this location!

The five stars is for the boba drink with no boba in it, but had something like flan stuck to the bottom. It had a salty coffee like taste to it, mixed in with the creamy taste which gave the drink a three-dimensional aspect. Each mouthful was different from the previous mouthful, with never the same flavor hiting twice in a row. Flavor repetitivity is an issue with Yogurtland food, but not a problem with the the drink from here. The flan thing was not an add-on topping; it actually came standard with the drink itself. And there might have been oatmilk in it, as the ordering machines do not fully describe some of the drinks.

Not a lot of places to sit after ordering on a digital screen. All kitchens, no character. Feels like a Delivery Depot rather than Food Hall. A lot of plastic waste if dining in, everything is served as take out. The sushi was up to the mark.

I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at the food hall. The wait time was supposed to be 30 minutes, but my food took an entire hour to arrive. To make matters worse, the dish I received was a far cry from what was advertised. The menu showed a bowl of egg noodles with large beef chunks, but what I got was instant ramen noodles with hamburger meat. For an $18 meal, I expected something much more substantial and of higher quality. The ingredients in my dish couldn't have cost more than $2. The worker who took my order had no sense of urgency and blatantly lied about the quote time. Despite the excessive wait, there was no offer of compensation or apology.Adding to my frustration, other patrons who ordered after me received their food before I did. It makes no sense why it took an hour to prepare something as simple as a cup of noodles. Overall, this was a terrible experience, and I will never be going back.
