Came here yesterday evening to celebrate a birthday meal. First time here so we weren't sure what to expect. The staff was very friendly and communicated with each other what the reservation was for. We were sat quickly and had to wait for the rest of our party to come.We ended up ordering 12 raw oysters which come with all 4 sauces listed on their menu. We also ordered 12 grilled oysters which you would have to choose the seasoning for. We also wanted to start off with their rustic pizza, but the order didn't make it out until the end of the meal when we reminded them. Otherwise, our oysters came out first and they were absolutely amazing. We got the Washington oysters which were plump, juicy, creamy, and sweet. Probably the best oysters we had ever eaten. They also had the choice of Canadian oysters which they stated were more briney, but I personally don't enjoy the sea salt taste. We also ordered the roasted artichoke which comes with a nice aioli sauce and some peppers inside. For my main dish, we got the cioppino and a side of lobster risotto. The cioppino was very nice in flavor and came with some garlic bread on the side. It was full of lots of seafood as well, and the texture of the pasta was perfect. The lobster risotto was a bit lacking in flavor so we had to add some salt into it, but they completely filled the risotto with lobster. My friends got the mushroom risotto which had much more flavor and was nice and creamy. Both risottos were very filling and can be its own main dish.We ended the meal with cutting a birthday cake brought from home, and the server was nice enough to waive the cake cutting fee for us. We ended up taking our pizza home to eat which turned out savory and sweet with the fig jam inside. My boyfriend loved it. I definitely thought the oysters were the highlight of the meal and can't stop thinking about them. Definitely worth coming back for some nice food.

I really wanted to like this restaurant, but it ultimately fell short for me. I will not come back. I've been eyeing this restaurant for a couple of months and figured that Valentine's Day could be a good reason to come. The host was very nice when I made the reservation and called a couple days prior to confirm. Service (2/5): The day of, the host was quick and polite. But the server wasn't as engaging nor present during our meal. I couldn't help but compare the server to the one that served the table next to us. That server was conversational, attentive and personable. I think it started off bizarre, and that vibe continued throughout the night. My wife and I were looking at the menu and at one point, our server asked "did you want some food?" Such a weird way to ask that question. He also didn't ask if we had any questions about the menu. Throughout the meal, he didn't check back with us on how things were going. Food (2/5): We ordered the calamari, mussels, mushroom risotto, rustic house pasta, and lava cake. The breading on the calamari was good but it kept falling off the calamari, and the calamari was very rubbery. The mussel, risotto, and house pasta were all blend and missing depth of flavor. The lava was missing fromthe lava cake - it was more of a mousse center at that point. Ambiance (3/5): Nice vibe. Interior was cozy.

Came here for dinner Saturday night. The food was pretty good, and the service was excellent, but the portions are on the smaller side. We were seated in the corner which was a really nice spot with windows. Got the crab and lobster linguine with pink sauce. The options are actually white or red sauce, but our server suggested pink which was delicious! Also got the cioppino (large size) which was also good. Ordered 2 baguettes to finish the soup. The fish and chips were not bad. The seared scallops were not bad as well. My favorites were definitely the pasta and cioppino, and these I would order again for sure.

This place was amazing!! Let me start with the seafood doesn't smell fishy or taste fishy. The fried oysters were amazing! Very flavorful. The New York steak was great and I got a side of chimichurri ! So amazing. The calamari tasted so clean and delicious. Not chewy at all.Our server was great! I don't know her name but she was a cute lady that is from England. She really provided the best customer service. Cocktails were also delicious we had some Hennessy sidecarts. We wish we had a place like this back home in LA. The food also came out quickly and was still hot! Such a great place

Michael was the boss host, will return as he made it a memorable visit :)Happy Hour is Monday-Friday, 3:00-5:30pm. Small snacks menu, -$2 off signature cocktails and draft beers. My favorite here is the Bourbon Grilled Oysters - Chipotle chilies, garlic, butter, brown sugar & a touch of bourbon. They usually have a chef's choice raw oyster (ours was Miyagi for $2) during HH, and I like their condiments/garnishes:RUSTIC WASHRice Vinegar, shallots, and jalapeñosCOCKTAIL SAUCEHouse-made cocktail sauce with fresh horseradishCHIPOTLE MIGNONETTEChipotle peppers, red wine vinegar, peppercorns, shallots, cilantro, honey & black pepperThere was a 4th one, some sort of really spicy horseradish which was great - use just a little along w the chipotle mignonette, and more horseradish if you want to clear your sinuses lolCrowd/vibe is as expected for downtown Los Altos. -1 star bc their bar had some used dish rags strewn out on the surfaces depending on where you're seated.

Great experience dining with friends here. Reservations are encouraged. Ambiance is casual and welcoming. Service was top notch. Ordering was easy and the flow of drinks, apps, entrees, and desserts was so smooth it hardly felt like we were waiting much for anything. Waters were always topped off and plates were always cleared promptly. Our table enjoyed all the dishes we ordered - calamari, steamed clams, crab cakes for apps; branzino, scallops, crab melt, and rustic house pasta for entrees; tiramisu, chocolate ice cream, and lava cake for dessert. Everything was delicious!!!One last thing to add which I thought added to the already top notch service: we had a 6yr old in our party and our server went the extra mile to speed up their order. The little one was all squared away enjoying their kid's meal and we had barely ordered our entrees. It was impressive timing and it made the rest of our dining experience that much more enjoyable!

This review is specifically for the "Champagne tasting" held on 11/02.It's a great experience. I'm so impressed that there are 12 champagne suppliers and each brings 3-5 or even more champagnes for people to taste. The pour is generous and you basically can drink as much as you would likeAppetizers are prepared by the French chef of the restaurant. At first, it's kind of slow going with the food, only cheese, crackers and some lunch meats are available. As the night goes on, more creative/upscale appetizers started to show up.The servers are great and polite. They hold food trays walking around the event space to offer appetizers for people.Although the restaurant is famous by its oysters, I thought the oysters offered at the event was just okay, doesn't taste fresh or flavorful. There are even raffles. A few bottles of champagne and gift cards are handedout to winners. How fun!

My mom and I were looking for a place to eat dinner in Los Altos and picked Rustic House based off reviews. For a Wednesday night, it was really busy and lively! Lots of people sitting at the bar, and at tables, but they were able to get us right in, and food came out fast. The margherita pizza was delicious, and so were the shrimp tacos. I also loved the clam chowder, it had a generous portion of clams and was really hearty and delicious. They have an extensive dessert menu! So many yummy options to chose from like crème brûlée, tiramisu, key lime pie, etc.Our server Alayna was so kind and helpful. Knowing that it was our first time dining there, she walked us through the menu and recommended a few items. I will definitely be making another trip to Los Altos to eat here again.

This was my family's first time at this restaurant and to think I've gone to the brie next-door for sandwiches for years and never noticed this particular spot! Lol goodness what have I been missing out!!We had a lovely waitress with a beautiful German accent, who actually has been serving for over 30 something years as a career!! She was incredibly knowledgeable, sweet, loves to garden and New the menu inside and out!! She also was very good at helping pair wines with our Dinner and desserts!! The environment was a little dark and rustic, lol but I really liked the cabin like environment and then they had a cool open looking bar area where you could definitely come and hang out! I would love to go there and just have a couple cocktails with appetizers and not a whole meal or dinner. Very very cool environment indeed! They also have a lit patio area that looks great for taking pictures with Food !My family and I loved our meals and the fish was so fresh and delicious and perfectly done. We had to try all the oysters and all the sauces but I think my favorite one was the bourbon as well as the citrusy wine mixtures actually, I liked all of them now that I think about it! Lol so definitely get the oysters!! I had the seafood pasta and morsel of clam or seafood was perfectly cooked within the pasta and I wish I had asked for red pepper flakes and a loaf of bread to soak up that sauce, but it was delicious nevertheless!!Then we went dessert! Goodness, traditional, tiramisu with ladyfingers was perfectly eloquently layered and not too sweet and paired perfectly with an evening cappuccino or cuppa coffee! My boyfriend got the hazelnut chocolate cake, and that had a perfectly crisp layer to it, and I love the nuttiness!! I could definitely see myself coming here for dessert!!Oh, and I wasn't able to take a picture of the dining area or the bar because there were too many people in both areas! Lol I was afraid I would take a picture of somebody and they would say something to me. But I did get a picture of their patio area! HeeOverall, this place was amazing and I would love to come back here again!!
