A thali literally means a platter, and usually has an appetizer , 2/3 mains, a lentil, and 2/3 kinds of breads. A rice and a dessert round up the experience, and unless noted otherwise Thalis are supposed to be unlimited. I grew up eating Thali at Golden star and Chetana in Mumbai, so the bar is very high. Having said that, Royal Thali does a fine job of serving freshly made tasty dishes, served with abundance. Their menu is different each day so there is no fear of being fed day old leftovers. Eveything from the vegetarian curry dishes to the breads are always small batch made so you really are eating them piping hot. We've been here twice already and both times I have found atleast 2/3 items I really liked so for the price point, it's a win-win. Veer is the main server and he and his team ensures you leave happy and well fed. So if you are in the mood for an unlimited thali any day of the week , head over, but only after you put on some comfy pants!

Eaten here before. It was great. This time around the flavors were significantly lacking. One out of 10 things on the thali was nice. Don't think we will come back.

We came today (Wednesday) for dinner, family of 4 ( incl 2 small kids). There was no rush, we easily got table as soon as we entered. Weekends are really busy and wait time is easily 1hr wait to get a table. Service is really quick and great. Our server was really friendly especially to my 1 yr old. He was prompt and served did immediately which was great.Food was really good, everything tasted great, we didn't dislike any items. Weekday thali for dinner included chaas, 2 types of sweet, 4 curries, roti, puri, papd, rice, salad and appetizer.. it was very filling and value for the price since you are share with kids.. We did takeout as well, and there is no compromise on the taste. Quality and quantity of food is worth the price and time

Good place to go to after a 5 mile hike or on one of those hungry-like-a-whale afternoons. Weekend all-you-can-eat lunch tends to costs upwards of 30 including basic taxes and tips. Usually you only get one specific Thali on a given day it looks like.Food is not bad. On par with other "thali" places. The flavors could be a wee bit better in my opinion. We went on a weekend and ended up eating Gujarati thali. Will go again to try the Rajasthani version another day. Service was great. We were there before noon. Personally I became full right after eating a couple of roties. Place is fairly clean and cozy.

Affordable, infinite amounts of food? Sign me up. Basically, they serve thaali-style meals, which basically just means a meal on a plate with a lot of different things in it. I guess it's not that different from how people refer to bento meals - except it often is a lot fancier due to the sheer diversity of food offered. And this place is no exception! You go in, get seated, and you get a preset meal of basically multiple staples (roti bread, puri bread, etc.), some appetizers, and several curries. What is unusual is that basically whenever you eat any of those and want more of anything in it, you can ask for more. So in short, it's essentially all-you-can-eat.The menu rotates through several themes, usually revolving around a regional cuisine (I think I' remember Marathi food? Punjabi food? Gujarati food?). So what's cool is you actually do get something different depending on what day you go. If you have a strong opinion on what you prefer, you can check their website to see that week's menu.Overall, I do not have a strong opinion and I've liked almost everything I've had here. And even if you don't absolutely love something, you can simply...not request refills of that specific curry. They also basically have complimentary chaas buttermilk. Personally not a fan of chaas, but it's a nice touch!Value is pretty good, especially on weekdays. Honestly one of the cheapest AYCE options I've seen in the Bay Area. Highly recommend if you want to get absolutely stuffed on a tight budget.

Small Indian vegitarian restaurant in Milpitas. It only has one item and it is unlimited thali. It consist of variety of small dishes like bento box. It was interesting as this was the first time I experience it and also experience fully vegiterian Indian cuisine The food is yummy and service is good. Thexserver constantly come over to check if we need more dishes. Nice lunch with friends.

I stepped in and was warmly greeted with "Sat Shri Akaal." The unlimited vegetarian thali, a staple of Punjabi cuisine, began to arrive in small katoris on my plate. On a chilly monday night, the piping hot sabjis and phulkas were a welcome treat. The spread included kadhi pakora, rajma, mixed sabji, and paneer - all quintessential Punjabi dishes. Each bite transported me to a traditional Punjabi household, where the aromas and flavors are unmistakable. I must admit, I'm not a fan of soya chaap, but everything else was authentic and delicious. The sabji (mixed veg okra, beans, cauliflower, peas and carrots) paired perfectly with the hot ghee phulkas, fresh from the kitchen. The phulkas were soft and delicious. The kasuri methi puris were bite size and amazing and arrived piping hot. While the tikki chole was mediocre, with the tikki being my least favorite, the chole was passable.Unfortunately, the meal lacked chutneys, and the salad, consisting of diced cucumbers and carrots, looked uninspiring. On the bright side, the gajar ka halwa made for a satisfying dessert. This experience was reminiscent of home-cooked meals by mom and dad. The authentic flavors and aromas of Punjabi cuisine shone through. I'd return for their exceptional phulkas, rajma, and sabji - a true testament to the warmth of Punjabi hospitality.

This was my first ever Thali experience. I have been wanting to try this place and glad we did. No fuss kindof a place and no need for a menu! They serve you a variety of dishes that you can eat with a variety of breads and rice. About $19 pp on a weekday lunch. Not bad, since technically, it's Ayce. My onlySuggestion would be to maybe name the dish they are serving as they serve them (for people who arent too familiar with the cuisine). Other than that, food was great and we left very satisfied

We revisited recently after our first visit on their opening day. Lines are painfully long especially over weekends. They obliged and put on name on the wait list over a phone call but we still had to wait 45 mins after our arrival. We did not find the dishes as good as the first day. Nothing on the thali stood out.
