After a few years of unsuccessfully searching for an excuse to hold an event that would require their catering services (have you SEEN the photos on their website?!?), I was very excited to learn Royal Oxen Kitchen had opened their doors at East Bay Eats in July 2024. Since they've opened, my family and I have been making our way through their menu whenever one of us is in the area to pick up. What a treat! Every dish we've ordered is fresh and bursting with unique flavors. Most entrees come with leafy salad, fresh, crisp, perfectly sauteed veggies, and buttered steamed rice. You know you're getting a quality meal when the chef serves up meticulously prepared sides. Our outstanding favorites are:Cha siu seabass - Moist, juicy and sooo decadent. Next time this is on the menu, I'm jumping on that.Miso salmon - Perfectly cooked, hard to do with take out salmon, with a miso glaze that I can not replicate at home, dang it! Hennessy chicken - A little spicy kick, smokey, finger licking good. Tater tots - I love me a good tater tot. Plus that creamy smoked paprika sauce? I'm done. Our other favorites are wagyu steak, pork belly & eggs and butter scallops. Mkay, honestly that's everything we've ever ordered here. It's all my favorite. They add new items to their menu here and there, which keeps it interesting, and also which keeps me from re-ordering the same things over and over again. But I will! Once I get to end of that menu.I have to say this. During the pandemic, I had ordered their Mama Oxen Sauce. That sh*t was fire. Their side salad comes with the same sauce, but it doesn't taste exactly the same in that small amount. It does not do it justice! You have to get the full container. The ratio of ingredients in the bigger container is different, and that's where flavor is. I think I just convinced myself to order that again. Can't wait for the next time I'm in the area!

Royal Oxen Kitchen is the new IT spot in Hayward y'all! Hubby brought home 5 dishes (wagyu x 2, pork belly x 2, and a Hennessy Chicken). Food was fresh, portions were generous, and most importantly everything was juicy and delicious. Don't sleep on this place and order through door dash, grub hub, or Uber eats. You can also walk in and order on the kiosk as well and try to meet the chef! Make sure you come earlier in the day or they will sell out. Let's break down the dishes:Hennessy Chicken: Glazed chicken thigh on a bed of rice with veggies and side salad. The chicken was moist, juicy, and full of flavor. Australian Wagyu Steak:Cooked perfectly medium rare on a bed of rice and veggies and served with a Chimichurri sauce that is to die for! I def wanted more sauce because it's too good.Caramelized Pork Belly + EggsThis is your mama's comfort food elevated on another level. Nice and peppery but also sweet. Quail eggs is a nice touch versus your traditional chicken egg. Lovely flavors and very homey. Definitely looking forward to trying the sea bass and other up and coming dishes being added to the menu!

Saw a new restaurant on my usual Uber eats / DoorDash search and wanted to try it! Glad I did because it was amazing! We had the Hennessy chicken, braised pork belly and quail eggs, and Australian wagyu. All the portions were generous, flavorful, unique, and included rice and a side salad. The chicken was cooked to perfection finished with a sweet honey glaze that makes you coming back for more. The braised pork belly reminded me of mom's thit kho with an American twist. Sweet, flavorful, and sauced just right. The Australian wagyu was delivered and presented on a bed of lettuce, cooked to a perfect medium rare, finished with a savory brown sauce and included an Asian twist of chimmi churry. That combination melts in your mouth and the chimmi churry always keeps your taste buds entertained. Will be coming back for more !

I got to be one of first customers for Royal Oxen Kitchen at their new location in Hayward. I've always seen them cater events and finally got a chance to try their food and it was spectacular. I bought one of each item and shared it with my coworkers. Everyone agreed it's delicious at a price point that is more than fair for the quality of food. This dishes I ordered were:Hennessey chicken, Australian wagyu steak, Cha siu Sea bass, and Braised pork with quail eggs. All dishes were served with vegetables, rice and salad with a great vinaigrette dressing. The steak was very tender, the chicken was also juicy with a nice broiled skin and the succulent sea bass was everyone's favorite. And lastly the braised pork was a classic dish that is always nostalgic. I will definitely be catering Royal Oxen Kitchen for my next corporate event for sure! Im very excited and cannot wait for their other dishes to come after the soft launch.

Had an amazing meal at Royal Oxen Kitchen today! Saw this on DoorDash after I hit the golf range in Hayward. Loved it all. The Caramelized Pork Belly was tender and flavorful, perfectly balanced with coconut soy sauce, steamed rice, veggies, and a fresh salad. The Cha Siu Sea Bass was a standout--comparable to fine dining, with moist, perfectly marinated fish. The Australian Wagyu Steak was juicy and rich, topped with a truffle glaze and chimichurri sauce. Nothing was dry, and each dish had just the right amount of sauce. Can't wait to order again!

We decided to try out Royal Oxen Kitchen for dinnerlast week. My husband ordered their wagyu plate, i ordered the scallops, and we shared the eggrolls. The saigon chimichurri sauce and demi glace on the wagyu was very flavorful. We loved that dish the most. The scallops were also good. They were tender and not fishy at all. The eggrolls were hot and freshly fried. The dressing for the salads was very unique. The sweet potatoes were a tad bit undercooked. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back to try other items!

I've finally had a chance to check out East Bay Eats little food hall and saw this place on the menu. As I was browsing the kiosk menu I came across Royal Oxen Kitchen and decided to give this spot a try since the Australian steak and sea bass sounded amazing. Sooo glad I went with this option because the food did not disappoint. The steak was cooked perfectly and super tender. Had some type of amazing sauce that came with the steak too but didn't get a description of it. My spouse let me try her sea bass and usually I'm not a fan of fish but this bass was surprisingly good. Next time I eat here I would def consider getting the bass for myself. I was so hungry when j got my food that I forgot to take pics of the side salad, but that salad dressing was so good. That needs to be in the menu by itself. I know this place is new so hopefully it sticks around. If you haven't yet, for sure book mark this place and give it a shot next time you're in Hayward.
