The food was a little underwhelming. I've had a la Diabla (shrimp dish in red sauce) from other places but this one was a bit on the tangier side. Still good. Also got the bacon wrapped scallops which were interesting but still good. Sat outside which was a great choice given the warm nights and having a clarinetist playing across from us.

This is our go to Mexican place in Sunnyvale! Any time we are looking for somewhere with consistently good food, service, and vibes, Roberto's is our stop! I've always enjoyed everything on the menu here. Food favorites are the guacamole, queso fundido, cheese enchiladas, and Birria quesadilla. My boyfriend loves their carnitas, he's had it in a burrito, on a combo plate, and he tried it on tostadas today! Their salsas they make here are also delicious!! We love the red one, but they're both good. It's in a great spot too for the music in downtown during the summer. Can't wait for our next visit :)

Service was nice, food was great, the complimentary homemade chips and salsa are delicious (especially loved the spicy red one, fresh and chunky), bartender knows their Tequilas, and if you understand Spanish you can really tell how everyone feels like is family in there

Great service and lively dinner spot! Love that they had soccer games playing on the TVs as well. They give complimentary chips and salsa, I really enjoyed the green! It was super refreshing and had lots of good flavor. I tried the birria de res. The meat was super tender and they were not stingy with the portion at all. The broth was also really tasty and I liked the side of rice/beans/tortillas it came with too. Everything was well seasoned and flavorful.I also really enjoyed their frozen strawberry margarita. It especially hit on the super hot day. Overall, no complaints about this place!

On a random Sunday I was craving ceviche and came across this place. Chose it due to their greatreviews and photos. We ordered fish ceviche to start, a cheese enchilada and taco plate that came beans and rice, my husband ordered pollo al xocoqui and loved it. There is inside and outside seating, we opted inside due to the heat.

Some of the best margaritas I've ever had, I don't know their secret! The Jococue chicken is amazing, get extra sauce! Also love the bacon wrapped scallop appetizer. It has such a good sauce as well. Friendly staff that remembered me after I moved away from the area and visited three years later. They need to open a franchise in L.A!

Very friendly service and OK prices. Complimentary chips and salsa that came with red and green salsa. The salsa's were ok, nothing special, and the chips were thick and slightly stale. I had the chili relleno plate that cane with rice and black beans. Everything was very well seasoned with flavors that made the simple meal taste good. The chili relleno came steeped in a red sauce and wasn't what I expected, but it was still good. $40 for two plates and a beer, not bad. I'd come back. I'd like to try the fajitas but they looked a little expensive.

Every time I come back, it seems to get better and better. Finally met the owner and it turns out he is a very nice and friendly person. The food is always consistently good and better than average margaritas.

The food here feels less heavy than typical Mexican restaurants or taquerias. I got a combo order with the chile relleno and Mole Enchilada. Chile Relleno - I should have read that this was grilled. There was no batter, but it was still tasty, and I didn't miss it much.Mole Enchilada - Flavor of the mole was good. The shreds of chicken breast were large, so it was a bit hard to eat. Beans and rice - Solid.

Being from Texas, I'm used to scrumptious Tex-Mex cuisine. With this in mind, the refried beans at Roberto's Cantina were runny and lacked flavor on the Nachos order. On the order of Pollo Al Xocoqui, the serving of chicken was generous and the sauce was flavorful. Overall the food was filling and satisfying. The service was inattentive. The waitress brought our food to the table and never returned until bringing the check. We got up twice to request a drink refill. Ambience is great - good location.
