Tried out this place because I wanted to get passport picture at Walgreens, find out their machine was down. so couldn't get my passport picture!Walked in and sat down. Told waiter my order of masala dosa $7.95 and mango lassi $3.50. Dosa is small, and comes with 2 chutney: coconut and peanut, and sambar. Sambar is spicy! Dosa was ok.Help yourself to water at the fountain in frontLeft-side. One unisex bathroom in the back. Throw your trash after eating in the back.Charged it. Pay after eating, I almost forgot!

TLDR : Great food, quick service, simple ambience We tried Rameshwaram Cafe for the authenticity and loved it. The sambhar was great (a little less spicy) and the peanut and coconut chutneys were amazing. The open masala dosa was spicy and loved it. The filter coffee was great as well.Overall good for a quick and simple meal.

Our go-to spot for Benne Dosa in the Bay Area! The dosas are most reasonably priced, well-sized, and filling. It's in North Fremont, so a bit of a drive for those in the South Bay, but worth it. The restaurant has a simple, no-frills vibe, like a neighborhood joint back in India. The chutneys and sambar are quite tasty--I'd give them an overall 4.3/5.The Benne Dosa and Open Masala Dosa are exceptional and have been consistently great over our last three visits. The Benne Dosa looks a bit dark, but it's perfectly crisp on the outside and moist on the inside, no compromise on taste. We also tried their idlis--Karampodi Garlic Idli was a miss for us (2/5), but the Fried Idli was decent (3/5).The Uddina Vade and Uthapam were good, though I'm not sure how consistent they are. The servers tend to forget or mishear something from the order and often claim we didn't order certain items. This has happened to us all three times we've visited. They do eventually fix the issues, but it can take longer than expected.Overall, a solid spot for benne dosas! Hoping they sustain!

If you're Indian, and craving a taste of home, Rameshwaram is the place to be. What stood out to me during our visit was the warm and inclusive atmosphere, where different tables engaged with one another effortlessly. Indian prayer music filled the background, adding to the at-home ambiance. I couldn't help but notice a heartwarming scene: a baby at one table eliciting smiles and sparking conversations across the room. As for the service, it seems they're in the midst of refining their approach, debating between ordering upfront and seating oneself or relying on waitstaff! Regardless, what truly impressed me was the reverence shown to elders. When I dined with my father, they graciously attended to him, checking on us regularly. Moreover, I noticed Rameshwaram's attempt at eco-friendliness. From bamboo spoons to plates, they're making strides. Taking it a step further: changing the plastic straws and cups to biodegradable alternatives would be wonderful. The restaurant layout is quite practical. A sink in the back allows patrons to wash their hands, and upon finishing their meal, diners are encouraged to clear their trays in the trash and stack them after eating. It's a straightforward and efficient system, making the dining experience pleasant.

Idly 5/5Dosa 3/5Vada 1/5Ordered a combo and their special dosa. And other than idly , I didn't really enjoy other items. Vada was probably refrigerated and fried again and the color and taste tells the story. Sambar was not made that day either. Tried once and I guess that's it

Rameshwaram Cafe opens where Zam Zam Grill was. The adjacent space is the dining area. Specialty is South Indian vegetarian eatsOfferings: steamed idli's, South Indian bites. Breakfast, dosa, drinksDrill: order at counter, pay, food brought to table of ur choice. Note: only wooden spoon utensil available. Metal forks & knives not used. Most patrons use hands..Eats: masala dosa (7.45)-made with fermented rice & lentils, mixed with water. Makes a thin crispy pancake. Filled with potato masala, onions, podi, & cilantro. -dipping sauce of cilantro peanut chutney, coconut red chutney, sambar makes it yummy.*eat by breaking off part of dosa, dipping it into sauce.Uddina Vada (3/$6) made from black gram, mixed with water. Fried. Crispy & crunchy donut shaped.-nothing exciting, plain taste enchanced by same chutney, sambar that came with dosa.Drink: chai (1)-small portion of chai, smooth..skipped sugar.3.5 stars quick, courteous service. Music in background similar to religious chants..

Bangalore style dosas are having a moment right now in the south bay - and they rightly should be! I visited Rameshwaram cafe for dinner and it was super crowded. It's new, they're still figuring out how to manage the crowd and it shows. I hope they are able to streamline their process soon.We waited for around 15 minutes to get a table for 2. The food was worth the wait. Karnataka style sambar and chutneys (especially the coconut chutney) were the standouts.Dosa was good but not the perfect Bangalore style benne dosa.Really enjoyed the lemon idly and dip sambar idly.Vadas were a bit a dense - I've had better.
