Realized I never left Pranzi a review! I love Pranzi because you can get authentic handmade pasta and other seasonal favorites. I'm always a little surprised how few folks know about Pranzi but it's one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the Bay Area (it's also the perfect meeting place between the South Bay and SF!). It's perfect for date night or dinner with friends and family. The indoor and outdoor space is both lovely!.My personal favorites from my visits have been:- Octopus (this was hands down THE best octopus of my life. It's crispy on the outside and so tender inside)- Prosciutto, Burrata & Pear (a combination made in heaven)- Watermelon Mozzarella Tower (not sure they have this all the time but I love this!)- Bruschetta (they use fresh tomatoes )- Bolognese (a staple but they do this so so so well with their homemade pasta)- Penne Vodka (another one of their fan favorites, each penne is a little different which proved they're homemade) - Prime Ribeye (cooked perfectly and comes with an incredible truffle mac n cheese)

We made reservations for a Sunday night dinner. We came in early and got seated immediately. The ambiance was very warm and inviting. The restaurant was decorated for the holidays, so it was warm and festive. The service did not match the atmosphere the evening we went. We were given bread and an empty bowl, presumably for oil and vinegar to dip our bread in. Unfortunately I had to request the oil and vinegar. When it was time to order, I ordered the butternut squash soup to start and my bf ordered the grilled octopus. Both were on the specials menu. For our mains, I ordered the shrimp and lobster ravioli from the specials menu and my bf ordered the steak. The waiter repeated our order, however we were served a completely different appetizer. Instead of the soup, we were given the butternut squash entree. The tortellini dough was incredibly thick and the sauce was oily. The waiter eventually rectified the situation, but the soup was actually worse. We didn't even finish it. It was watery and lacked any flavor. The seafood ravioli was ok, but not restaurant worthy. The steak luckily came out perfect. Overall the service was incredibly slow and the pace was off. We waited 15-20 minutes between courses. In between, we were never checked on.I'm hoping it was just an off night.

Came here with my work team for a fun holiday lunch before we visited Laurel Street Arts. Overall, I have nothing but fantastic things to say about Pranzi. The space is welcoming. I love that the restaurant was decorated for the holidays with cute Christmas trees on the dining tables and wreaths! Our server was very attentive and helpful. He was kind enough to see me at the bar while I waited for my other colleagues to arrive. The food was also delicious! We shared the fried artichoke appetizer, prime rib (yes... prime rib), and a few flatbreads. Our server also brought us complimentary bread with a side of olive oil + balsamic vinegar to dip. Bread was standard, but nice to have while we were waiting for the rest of our food. In addition to Pranzi's regular menu, they also had several chef's specials to try. From that, I ordered the branzino with roasted potatoes + vegetables + beurre blanc sauce. So good, and there was just enough leftovers for me to enjoy as a lighter dinner. We also shared a bunch of desserts, including the tiramisu and chocolate mousse. A nice way to end our lunch. :)All in all, I would highly recommend Pranzi - not just for work lunches, but also for more intimate date nights!

Had the best birthday lunch here!! Came on a Sunday afternoon and it was easy to get a table. We were 6 people and ordered 3 apps and 3 pastas to share. Folks loved the margarita flatbread, the crab ravioli, and the mushroom pasta. Holy moly the mushroom truffle pasta may be one of my favorite dishes in the world. You can taste the hand crafted pasta and the decadence of the sauce and truffle, and the variety of mushrooms complement everything so well. Still dreaming about that dish...MUST ORDER! The only thing I didn't love was the butternut squash pasta, was a bit bland. But everything else was so good I'm not docking a star :)

I loved there lasagna I'm happy i took the chance i did not regret it. Its a large portion sitting on a bed of bolognese sauce. The sweetness and thickness of that sauce will have you in heaven. The pasta cooked nicely. This was one of those you just can't have one bite. I was literally driving my car and said hey I'm a just take one bite. I took one bite and it turned into 2,3,4, all. I swear I felt like the lasagna version of Cookie Monster. I drink that Bolognese sauce. It's rich is delicious is just enough when I first open it up. I thought it was too much, but it was enough.

Wonderful food and service! We sat outside , although it was a cloudy day. Their heat lamps were very hot. So much so, we had to ask to turn them down. The focaccia bread served at the beginning of our meal was soft and fresh! We are big fans of squid ink pasta and their rendition was very good. We appreciate how attentive the staff was. We will definitely be back!

This is like a parade of good food. My food was in time and make deliciously. I love the pastas here. The lasagna is my fave. I was already full but that tiramisu looked so good I had to eat it then and there. The atmosphere is very clean and the staff is great.

Went to Pranzi for a late lunch on Monday. It was in the middle of a heat wave so we got the seasonal watermelon tower. It was delicious and so fresh and cooled us down! The pear salad was delicious too - all the flavors go very well together! The thing we enjoyed the most was the complimentary bread! It was soft, flavorful and perfect in every respect! If they sold just the bread, I would keep going back for it! We also got the Tagliatelle pasta. This was good but I'm not too fond of the wild mushroom/truffle taste so it's not for me but my husband enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to going back again next time and checking if they can make some other pasta vegetarian! The service was amazing! Our server Ramy (not sure about the spelling) was very friendly and helpful. At the end of our meal, the staff even packed up our leftovers for us which I really appreciate because I always end up spilling when I try to empty plates into small boxes! Will definitely go back!
