My SO had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and havjng heard it from several people raving about it; we were able to give it a try as a group of 4.26.99 for all you can eat buffet for lunch on weekends is a snazzy deal and all the food are made pretty fresh. We quickly filled our plates and ate the crispy meats. They had a few new dishes to try out which was quite exciting.

Run don't walk!!! lol Filipino buffet available on weekends - $26.99 each. I almost want to keep this a secret selfishly lol but I also want this restaurant to thrive and spread the good word! Gotta support my Filipino peeps- cuz I'm half Filipino lol. They had a delicious buffet spread. Most everything was super tasty but the standouts for me were the beef kare-kare- which is a beef stew with peanut butter sauce (sounds weird but is so good), menudo, and bistek (Filipino beef steak and onions). We loved the variety and being able to try a bit of everything. They had lots of options but I'll attempt to mention a few! Lechon crispy pork belly, shrimp tempura, pork sisig, ginitaang manok (coconut chicken), pancit, palabok, and pinakbet. Service was very friendly. Someone came around to collect plates to clear up your table as you get multiple rounds of food! Utensils and water available on the side to help yourself. There's also a desert table with coffee. For some reason, arroz caldo was also on that table which is like a chicken and rice porridge with ginger. We got lucky and walked in on a Sunday around 11:50am. You can also reserve on Google/Yelp in advance. They have booth tables and normal tables, a fair amount of seating. I liked the Christmas parol decorations, which are Filipino Christmas lanterns. They had some authentic Filipino feel paintings on the wall of like Mount Mayon lol which is a volcano in the Philippines. Overall highly recommend a visit. I want to come back and try their other food that wasn't available on the buffet.

My colleague recommended this spot for breakfast especially since they do brunch buffet. Here was my experience.AMBIANCE:Parking: Plaza parking. I didn't really have any issues so it was cool.Seating: Inside seating good for small or large groups. There's room for maybe about 50 people.Vibes: Welcome to San Leandro! Nothing too flashy here just good neighborly houses and plazas with good eateries and small businesses. In this area there are some good eating spots, everyday errand spots, and a gym. The spot itself is nice. It has some nice Filipino decorations. The tvs kept me busy and I'm sure it keeps the locals busy catching a game. I enjoyed the background music of Filipino renditioning pop songs in the background.Great place to eat with family or a simple Filipino food adventure.FOOD:Brunch Buffet (Recommend)Oooooi! Where do we begin? Pancit (noodles) were comforting, rice was soft, longanisa was sweet, bangus was good, lumpias had a good crunch, mechado, kare kare, chicken adobo and the diniguan were comforting and finally the lechon was served fresh - that crispy skin is a treat!Sinigang Soup (Recommend)Delicious! A good amount tamarind (sweet/sour) taste to it. The vegetables were fulfilling and the pork had a good balance of meat and fat. A comforting dish regardless of the weather.CUSTOMER SERVICE:Tita Vicky was great! She left a simple yet friendly impression.TL; DR OVERALL:4.5 Stars. Fantastic! Great selections, delicious food, reasonable price, and a pleasant experience. I enjoyed dining here and look forward to coming here again, especially for their buffet (a bang for your buck). For those in the area and looking for Filipino food, this is the spot! #FilipinoFoodMovement #RepresentASIANTIPS:* Pistahan means festival* In the case you don't want to do buffet, you can order from the menu.

Pistahan is a nice Filipino restaurant located in San Leandro. They make some good Filipino food. Some of their yummy entrees are Beef Kare Kare, Mechado, Pork Sisig, Pinakebet, and Bicol Express. Of course, they have the usual Filipino food you'd expect to see such as Lumpia and Chicken Adobo too.It is a clean sit down restaurant that is nicely decorated. Service has been good too which is also important. Glad to have Pistahan in the area when we are craving yummy Filipino food.

I grew up in Union City and took for granted that there were so many Filipino restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, etc. Having lived in other parts of the Bay, I've come to know how special that was especially when a craving for comfort food hits. Imagine my surprise when I found that San Leandro also has a number of Filipino restaurants, Pistahan being one of them. It's on my food bucket list to try their lunch buffet, but for now, I've had their lumpia shanghai, lechon kawali, and sinigang. Their lumpia shanghai are delicious and manage to stay super crispy even after they've cooled down. I've ordered these for a couple of potluck gatherings and there are never any leftovers. The lechon kawali is also a hit with a good balance of crispiness and also moist, tender meat. The sinigang, however, was a bit of a letdown - maybe my family's version just primed me for something more sour than what restaurants have to make to appeal to a larger group of people. All in all, I will definitely be back - hopefully once for their lunch buffet!

Finding a Filipino buffet in the Bay Area is quite rare, despite the abundance of Filipino restaurants, so I'm thrilled to have discovered Pistahan. Their buffet was previously offered every day, but I believe they recently changed it to weekends only. At $29 per person, I think it's a decent deal, though it could be improved. On weekdays, the restaurant operates with a regular dining format--a la carte or family-style dining.During my first visit, I opted for the a la carte experience. We ordered the sisig, lechon kawali, and laing. The sisig and lechon kawali were pretty good, but the laing was my absolute favorite. Laing is a rare find on many Filipino restaurant menus, and whenever it's available, it becomes my benchmark for the restaurant's quality. For some reason, that's just my personal criteria! Pistahan serves one of the best laing I've ever had. I especially loved how they incorporated lechon kawali into it, creating a perfect balance of crunch and silky texture. When I returned for the buffet, I had another enjoyable experience. The selection is quite limited--it's not nearly as expansive as a typical buffet--but for someone who loves all Filipino dishes, their offerings were sufficient. I particularly enjoyed the dinuguan, which was absolutely delicious, especially when paired with their pancit. Some of the more popular items, like lechon kawali and lumpia, tend to run out quickly, but luckily, we managed to grab some.Customer service, however, could use some improvement. Upon entering, it's not immediately clear whether to seat yourself or wait to be directed. I usually end up standing there until a staff member approaches. Additionally, many things, such as water, are self-serve, which might explain the lack of attentiveness.Despite these minor issues, I thoroughly enjoyed both of my visits and will definitely be returning!

Picked up the Longganisa Plate as a to go order. They do have a Buffet on the weekends. The ambiance was relaxed and the service was great. Would go back the plate was executed flawlessly. Went there for the first time today and wasn't disappointed. This will be a go to spot.

Pistahan has always been a hit with our family gatherings! They are our go-to for party trays, and so far we've ordered the following:- pork sisig 5/5- caldereta 5/5- pork menudo 5/5- dinuguan 5/5- laing 5/5You truly cannot go wrong. They're normally run as an AYCE Filipino buffet, so you know they possess the know-how to produce quality catering orders that are consistent!

Came here for a party of 6 for their weekend lunch buffet. It was busy when we arrived. Maybe a 15-20 minute wait. Once a table was available, server was quick to clean and have it ready. You'll have to pay upfront. It was $26.99 per person. Spent about $206 which included a few drinks and tip. Buffet set up has plenty to choose from. The food was good and you can see them replenishing often. I wish they gave more desserts to choose from.Regardless, I'd return.

Pistahan is amazing! This is one of the best Filipino restaurants in the Bay Area in my opinion and very affordable!I found out about Pistahan from social media and saw that they have a Filipino lunch buffet on weekdays and a breakfast buffet on weekends. The lunch buffet is $21.99 and well worth it!I stopped in with my friend the other week and we were happy to see the delicious options. They have beef kare kare (My fave!), delicious lumpia, longganisa, shrimp tempura, bangus, menudo, ginataang manok, pancit, pinakbet, dinuguan, adobo etc. Everything we tried was fantastic! Service was also A+! The Tita working at the counter was also very nice and friendly. There was an entire party there the day we went, and the restaurant was great about refilling the buffet trays. For dessert they have ginataang munggo and they also brought out yummy cassava later on. I hope they continue to keep the affordable prices! I'd love to keep on supporting and spreading the word if they do! Masarap na, Mura pa!
