I really enjoy this restaurant, so much so that I have ordered from them a few times now. Their ingredients are super fresh and the portions are very generous.Their Grilled Shrimp Spring Rolls, Fried Egg Rolls, and Shredded Chicken Pho are really good (the roasted chicken pho is good too, but I prefer their shredded chicken which surprisingly isn't dried out to oblivion - it definitely is one of my most ordered items from this spot). I tried their Grilled Pork Sandwich today and unfortunately it was not good at all compared to other places I have had this sandwich at and not something I would order again. The bread really is what killed the sandwich for me. It didn't have a crispy exterior which is a quality I love in this type of sandwich and was rather dense vs. being airy. I get it that I likely sound super picky, but I have had some amazing banh mi sandwiches in my lifetime thus far and this was just not one of them. The bread's density really overpowers the ingredients in it. The pickled carrots also didn't seem to be pickled long enough as their flavor was rather flat and sweet with little to no acidity. Overall this is a great restaurant that I will continue to visit especially for their shredded chicken pho.

Jamie W and I have been enjoying visits to the White Horse Inn on random Saturdays for a while now. We had noticed this corner Vietnamese takeout spot but didn't try it until quite recently when I was having a post-cocktail hankering for pho. Luckily Jamie was starving, too, so we ended up sharing three familiar items and having them at the outdoor table next to the big mural (photo: https://yelp.to/X_xPeJEy5i).We started with the $9.95 Fresh Shrimp Spring Rolls, which were generously assembled with lettuce, vermicelli, and plenty of split prawns encased in translucent rice paper accompanied by a sweet peanut dipping sauce (photo: https://yelp.to/_UapbYqWp6). The second item was the $9.95 Grilled Pork Banh Mi which, a soft French roll robustly stuffed with pork, cucumber, shredded carrot and radish, and cilantro (photo: https://yelp.to/xGzS28kOct).That was definitely one of the better banh mis I've had outside of Saigon Sandwich. The $14.95 Roasted Chicken Noodle Soup wasn't technically pho but Hu Tieu Ga Nuong, a South Vietnamese soup with a lighter broth and larger chunks of chicken (photo: https://yelp.to/2ioXM-lGKJ). I don't think I've had this variation before, but it was pretty satisfying. All in all, this was a nice find on Telegraph for hearty Vietnamese eats.FOOD - 4 stars...pretty tasty and quite generous AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...well, it's really a takeout spotSERVICE - 4 stars...quite efficient and friendly TOTAL - 4 stars...solid Vietnamese fare with regional variations from the normRELATED - Exploring Oakland? Wait Time: No wait for a early Saturday Dinner, food arrived 15 minute after placing order.Unique Factor: 3/5 - Proteins choices are unique to the restaurant, offerings are your standard vermicelli salads, pho and banh mi, overall a derivative of your typical Vietnamese restaurant in the Bay Area. We tried the grilled fish vermicelli bowl and Fresh Sliced Beef & Beef Ball Noodle Soup. Accoutrements and seasoning were modest in quantity and flavor. A great local spot for when the pho cravings are strong. Personal bite: Service: Mostly takeout with a few bistro tables set along the sidewalk.

We came back for round two and ordered the fried spring rolls! Honestly probably the best egg rolls I've had in a long time -- the perfect amount of crisp and the flavor was delicious!

It might not be easy to tell from the picture I uploaded, but the sandwiches here are massive! I got mine with lemongrass beef. It was very flavorful, the bread was toasted nicely, and it was so filling I had to wrap up half of it to-go. It's not a huge place, but there are a couple of tables right outside on the side street (which is pretty quiet and peaceful). Service was good -- staff made sure to walk around with water refills. I would definitely come back to try another sandwich and their other items!

Got my usual phở tái bò viên (rare beef and meatballs), the chicken vermicelli, and the humongous spring roll ! The spring roll usually comes cut up into smaller spring rolls, but we asked for the whole thing just because lols. The pho here is very flavorful and is one of my favorites so far in the bay fs. They have a variety of options on their menu and I definitely want to come back to try the others. The servers are very welcoming, funny, and answered every question we had!! How it works here is you order and pay up front and there is seating outdoors on the side of the restaurant. They checked up on us multiple times throughout our meal and brought us anything else we needed. Loved our experience here :)

AMAZING experience. Phat sandwiches. Service with a smile. The kitchen was backed up, I went at 12pm sharp, but the owner personally made my sandwich and it was ready in seconds. I love the type of service Treated like a regular even though it was only my second visit since it opened a while back. I will keep this in my rotation for wfh lunch options.

The fried egg rolls reminds me of the ones on Guam. So on this alone I'm going to give it 5 starts they are huge compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in the Bay Area. They were also tasty. You order inside and you eat on the sidewalk good if it's a nice day out. The service was pretty good and attentive.

First time here after hearing about it through a friend and it did not disappoint. Being that my partner and I are vegan, we had the veggie noodle soup. The fried shallots on top were such a great addition to the very fresh broth. I usually don't see that with much Pho, so that was a great surprise. The veggies in the soup also had the right amount of softness, with the perfect crunchiness. Also paired with the Fresh Young Coconut, which had so much juice and was served in a coconut (even better).I was bummed that I had finished my meal so fast...Thank you Mahi and the rest of the staff for the great service and hospitality. We are excited to return soon!
