Pho Ga 88 has quickly became my family's new favorite chicken noodle place in the East Bay! Simple menu with only a couple items to choose from but you can't really go wrong with any of the options. The restaurant specializes in chicken and does a good job at it.I ordered the #5 boneless chicken noodle soup and the broth was clean, savory and warming. I couldn't stop drinking the soup because it was so flavorful! The ginger scallion sauce is a must try. I also ordered egg rolls for the table and it was crispy with some minced chicken filling. The restaurant was quite small and casual. Service was quick. I came on a weekend for lunch with my family and there was no wait. Pho Ga 88 is prefect for a light comforting meal when you aren't sure what to eat.

I have to admit Union City is not high on my list of culinary destinations, but here I was after a hike around Coyote Hills Regional Park and I was hungry. I had never been here before, but I did have a fine Chicken Pho at their look-alike sister location in San Leandro (review: https://yelp.to/G9ktnncAbr). Steamed chicken was calling my name, and it wasn't clucking.I decided to go for the $14.99 Chicken & Rice, which was a pretty generous portion. Served cold, the chicken meat was mostly dark and pretty tender. The chicken rice was quite hefty with some vinegar-doused veggies and ginger-garlic sauce on the side (photo: https://yelp.to/Phn43hGd0a). It came with a cup of hot chicken broth, although it didn't stop me from ordering more soup.I got the $7.99 Chicken Giblets Soup just 'cuz I loves me some innards. The bowl was filled with gizzards and hearts topped with chopped green onion (photo: https://yelp.to/vB5rOHKaYi). It really hit the spot for me. They have pho ga, of course, and other rice plates with variations on chicken preparation like Crispy Whole Leg and Fried Whole Wings. Don't cluck it up!FOOD - 4 stars...chicken the way I like itAMBIANCE - 4 stars...comfortable spot, not too crowdedSERVICE - 3.5 stars...attentive enoughTOTAL - 4 stars...clucking my way to Union CityRELATED - Exploring southern Alameda County? A friend recommended this place when we wanted soup because it was cold. I was surprised that most of the food in this spot was chicken-focused; the menu was small. I haven't tried chicken broth pho, so I was excited to try it. The inside of the restaurant was small but cozy. The service was great too. We didn't have to wait long to get seated. However, the parking can be hard, especially on the weekends or during peak hours. I ordered Noodles and Soup. I was used to beef broth; I was surprised that the chicken broth was light and flavorful. We also ordered Shrimp and Pork Spring Rolls, and Finger Fried Shrimps. We enjoyed the snacks; they tasted fresh and filling. Overall, we enjoyed our visit to Pho Ga 88. The food was great, and the prices were reasonable. I will be back and will try their other menu options.

I'm so used to beef pho so I was really intrigued when I saw a place specializing in chicken pho open up! This place is canto style. I've been here twice now and have tried their chicken vermicelli pho, their regular pho ga, the chicken salad, and the fried whole chicken wings. Each bowl of pho was so comforting, with a clear, light, yet flavorful chicken broth, juicy pieces of bone-in chicken, and a side of fragrant house made ginger scallion sauce. My only complaint for the pho is that there are so many tiny bones in the chicken which makes it difficult to eat. For appetizers, I'd skip on the chicken salad but definitely would get the fried whole chicken wings again. Huge, freshly fried, piping hot, super juicy, and perfectly crispy. Could use more seasoning but went so well with the sweet chili sauce they provide. No complaints in regard to the service. It is pretty up to standard. Shop itself is pretty small but I haven't seen it super busy yet. Hopefully soon because they have some really good food!

Pho Ga 88 in Union City is a great spot for delicious Vietnamese comfort food. I tried the chicken noodle soup, and it did not disappoint--the broth was flavorful, the noodles perfectly cooked, and the chicken well-seasoned. The dipping sauce for the chicken was fantastic and paired perfectly with the fried chicken rice plate. Speaking of the fried chicken, it was excellent--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned just right. The only downside was that the portion size for the chicken soup was on the smaller side, and the food took a bit longer to arrive than expected. Otherwise, it would have easily been a five-star experience. I'll definitely be back for another round!

I've tried their crispy chicken leg rice plate and their regular chicken pho. The chicken pho here is one of the best I've ever had. The broth is full of flavor and the chicken is so good. I also love their crispy chicken leg rice plate. The chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The service here is phenomenal as well. 10/10 highly recommend this spot.

Great customer service. An automatic 15% gratuity applied for a large party (over 6?), which was quite reasonable. Not a whole lot of options to choose from because I only cared for their specialty chicken. I had the chicken rice plate and it was quite good especially when you trenched your chicken in their ginger green onion sauce. My family got the chicken pho and they only got the white meat and bony pieces which they weren't too fond of.

Forgot why we came here since we usually like to get beef pho, but glad we came. The menu is pretty small, but we knew we wanted to get the chicken pho (#1) and that's what we did. It was a good bowl of noodles. The noodles were cooked well, the broth was light, but flavorful at the same time and the chicken was flavorful and pretty tender. Overall, good place for a bowl of noodle soup.

Great spot for a quick lunch! Due to the nature of my work, I frequently look for spots that open past 2:30 PM. Naturally this eliminates all ramen spots haha. I had their #2 which hit the spot. Food was hot, service was quick. There were a few seniors dining during the lunch rush and the servers were also patient to give them the extra time and attention needed... letting them count their change, helping pack leftovers. A family friendly ambiance :)
