Philomena

One of the best pies to have in town. They really know what they're doing with their combos... the dough.. is perfect crispy, but chewy, and slightly tangy.. if you can only have one pie for your first time, and are carnivorous, please do yourself a favor and go for "Miss Piggy". If meat isn't your thing, how about the "Garlic Garden"? There's something for everyone. Bonus, they have trivia nights, and live music nights, and a brunch that I can only drool about.

Fantastic pizza- questionable customer service. After emailing about catering for my daughter's birthday party and not hearing back, I called the restaurant directly. Whomever I spoke to said someone would call me back the next day. Four days later I was about to order from another local place when someone from Philomena finally called me back. They ended up bringing multiple pizzas, but were 45 minutes late because they burned the first batch. So instead of mingling with guests, I was texting with someone from Philomena about when the pizzas were going to come. I will continue to order delivery from them for regular nights, but wouldn't use them for a special event again. Just don't need the headache.

Oakland gem! Homemade pies and open for lunch and in the evening. Locally owned and good pizza. It's more cuts, so just be aware of your surroundings. My girlfriend and I shared a small Vegan pizza and enjoyed it. Come to have brunch on the weekends and have tasty coffee, by Mr. Espresso.

Last night my spouse and I ordered take out from here. We were looking for a place where we could order personal pizzas with gluten free options. I got the gluten free margarita pizza and it was one of the best I've had! The crust was crunchy yet soft and thin, but not sweet like some GF crusts can be. We also each ordered a side Caesar salad ( I got mine with arugula) and it was good. You can tell they make their own sauces but their dressing wasn't my favorite. Overall their pizzas were good and I would definitely order again if I'm ever in the area!

My go-to order: Sweet Garlic Thai wings (12pc) & chocolate chip cookies (4 pack). Absolutely delicious! Best wings & cookies I've had since moving to Oakland 3Y ago. Bonus: Winter special of Brussel sprouts & butternut squash--so good! Try it all! You won't be disappointed.

Popped in one day while waiting for my laundry. Ordered to go, and it took about 15 minutes for my food to arrive. Pizza and fries? Of course I will. Pizza was hot, with a crisp crust. Fries were...fries. It was a little loud, as it is a bar as well. But id definitely come back. A+ pizza.

This place is a hidden gem. Best Gluten free, dairy free pizza I have ever had!! 10/10 Brussel sprouts! This place packed and the service was still 10/10

I'm just go say stick to pizza the burgers looked good even tho I didn't order it. The garlic fries were blan. But I finally had some pizza and it was really good a pizza & beer you can't go wrong here everything else I feel is a Risk this is my 3rd time ordering from here. Customer service was good they shoe the warriors game on TV and have beers on tap and avaliable to purchase to go

The food is a 5 out of 5. The thai garlic wings are absolutely amazing and this is coming from a guy who has been die-hard buffalo sauce my entire life.If I could individually rate different categories, service would be a 2 out of 5. Now I come often enough to know different servers and some are definitely better than others. Theres one server (youngish guy, might be in his 20s - early thirties) who consistently gives poor service (taking a very long time to drop the check, then taking a really long time to pick it up, etc).Last time I was here he just forgot to put in an order *on an empty night* for a long time and when I came, I still had to wait another 20 minutes because presumably he hadn't put the order in. Not to mention, we paid for extra ranch and it wasn't in the bag which we didnt notice till I got home.In summary, food is great, good beer selection, but service really needs to get it together.

Yes, yes! Get their pizza. The mushroom is my personal favorite. Ordered a simple pepperoni to have a streaming night in with my son. They do it right! We've ordered from Philomena before but had had other pizza from other decent local places in between our last Philomena experience. We each took our first bite and had similar reactions-- "this is awesome pizza, maybe the best!"Don't listen to the haters saying it's underwhelming. Quality ingredients, all flavors are on point. Support local businesses that make great grub, please!
