Phat Plate Nate's

They are here every other Friday and Saturday, schedule is pretty random. Owner is a great guy and down to earth. Sadly, food was a big disappointment for us. Fried rice: 2/5, it wasn't mixed in fully. A lot of parts had eggs and some parts didn't, some had sauce and some didn't, mere 5 little pieces of spam. Rib eye: 2/5, we might've gotten unlucky but our piece was mainly pure fat at the bottom, definitely not high quality rib eye Beans as a side: 0/5, 1000% canned beans, very sweet but yet has that canned beans saltiness to it. Although the photo looks like there's a lot of food for $23 (+$1 if you use a credit card), it's deceiving as under the meat is all crunchy cabbages which takes up a lot of space. All in all, the service is there but everything else needs a lot of work if they plan on competing with other local Hawaiian/island style bbq places.

Hidden gem!!Arguably the best food stand in San Jose. We basically tried everything - got two combo plates with different meats and side. The ribs are with the extra $2 - they're amazingThe only meat I would skip the next time is the tri tip. The chicken and pork are both great too. Had all the sides they had to offer and loved them all. Lumpia was amazing tooPortions are HUGE!!! Plate lasted for multiple meals. What a bang for your buck.

Where is this place? We used GPS to navigate to the address listed and found a taco truck.

This place doesn't even exist. It's not there whenever I look for it. Is it still around? There's a taco joint where it supposed to be.

Nate's barbecue is top notch! I love his macaroni salad. He also makes a tasty tritip and don't get me started on his fried rice! it's so good!!!

Glad I stopped by. Food was great, portions were big and Nate himself was out there prepping everything. Definitely going back.

These plates are massive, I fed 3 people. The meat is tender the rice is the best fried rice I've had and all the sides were smackin... definitely goin back

Ive never been here. My husband has though. He came home with a massive plate of food and I stole all his lumpia. It was the best lumpia I have ever had in my life. As long as that food stand stays standing, I'll be sending my husband there to buy massive amounts of lumpia so I can steal it from him. I wish I took pictures but I ate it too fast ‍

I rarely find a place where I can say that everything is delicious, but this is definitely one of those places. Everyone who eats here goes back-and-forth between their favorite items, some people say the tri-tip is the best, some people love the chicken but believe it or not, the Lumpia is where it's at. They come in an order of four and even though they're not very big they're perfectly cooked, delicious and pair well with the sauce. This food stand can be kind of hard to find at times, they aren't always set up, so the best way to stay current with their hours is definitely through their instagram.
