Peshawari Kababs

Peshawari is my favorite restaurant in the entire bay area!! And that's saying a lot because I'm a foodie and am always on the lookout for the best quality and tasting food. They deliver every single time! If you haven't yet tried Peshawari karahi, kabab and rice or are missing authentic home food, this is the spot! The best, freshly made karahi in all of Bay area!! We always go for their chicken peshawari karahi and I'd rate it 10/10. My partner also loves their lamb karahi, 10/10 from him but I don't eat red meat so I cannot comment on it. They have delicious chapli kabab that are served with a generous serving of rice 10/10. Their naan is of superior quality and taste, we always order extra to take home. They also have great service and tea on tap. Something to keep in mind is that the karahi is made from scratch with fresh tomatoes after you place your order, none of that purees or tomato paste that you'll get at most restaurants, so it does take some time to make the karahi. Factor that in and my advise would be to order over the phone before your arrival, it will cut down your wait time. I wouldn't count the wait time between order and service of food as a con since they're making it fresh and from scratch and I would not have it another way. 10/10 on service as well!

It was my second visit here in two years and I loved the food, once again. I'm really surprised with some of the recent low ratings and negative reviews, but my experience was very different. Peshawari Kababs is a medium-sized restaurant in a strip mall with enough parking. It seems like an older restaurant but is extremely clean, and has decent interiors. You can absolutely dine in here; this is not your hole in the wall takeout-only place. There was a single person handling the welcoming, getting the table ready, taking the order, and bringing in the food when we dined in, but she was very efficient, pleasant, and doing everything with a smile on her face - no complaints at all. We started off with the potato bolani. I liked that we could specify the level of spice, something that we often can't do with bolani. And the addition of some spice really helped me enjoy this potato flatbread, compared to other Afghan places. The bolani paired wonderfully with their complimentary chai (milk tea). For the main course, my partner and I shared a charsi goat karahi and paired it with naans. The goat karahi is to be ordered by the pound (it is definitely a little pricey at $25 per lb) and takes about 30-35 minutes to arrive once you place the order because it's slow cooked. We relished every bite of the subtly spiced tender goat with the yummy naan, and left with very happy and full tummies.

I have been regular at this restaurant for past 5 years. I can confidently make this statement - this is one of the best restaurants in Bay Area. Please try their Chicken Charsi Karhai with Rumali Roti. Thank me later!

Really tasty food. My favorite is charsi chicken karahi (it's not on the menu) - but it's amazing! Chapli kababs are also really tasty. I love their Naan - v fresh and my wife is a big fan of the Bolani and Rumali Roti

I was order butter chicken with rice the men on font cashier $15 but 10 minutes I come pick here no with my order he tell me extra change $7 more OMG. Any other Indian restaurants when you order come with rice I level come back

I would not recommend Peshawari Kababs based on my experience. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area that offer better Pakistani cuisine with superior service and atmosphere.They don't have any Customer service experience People who works there are unprofessional and rude I just experienced today June 17th at 2:30pm and till 2:55pm I was waiting for my order. But I was still waiting until I cancelled everything. The people who works there must learn some manners and respect, specially customers time as well. Everything that I experience with this restaurant was ZERO and not worth to visit this restaurant at all.

Got the lentil soup, potato bolani & kebob plate. Very delicious and still hot when served. The service was great. The atmosphere was nice too. Definitely will come back to try other things on the menu.

WARNING WARNING Stay away from this restaurant not just because they serve garbage food they also all have some major attitude when you inform them of an issue you have with the dish you ordered. He literally told me to leave the restaurant if I don't like their food and walked away.If I could give this place a negative five star I would have. I ordered the biryani rice and when I called the owner of the restaurant just to inform him how the meat was so hard to chew he reached into my place and started pulling the lamb pieces apart and looked at me like I was on drugs. I am a huge foodie and alway go to restaurants on a regular basis and if I like the food and service I make sure to let them know. These guys are all on crack and have never learned how to treat a customer that comes into their restaurant. Not only the food was horrible the restaurant was also dirty and. Save yourself some time and go to some other Afghan restaurant that serves great food and has excellent customer service as well.
