A great place to grab a bite to eat and a craft cocktail.Probably the best bar tenders in the Bay Area. The service is awesome and fast. Even when they are super busy.Incredible ambiance, this place has a vibe, dimly lite, good music, it's cozy yet slick.Best bar in down town San Jose.

Always a good chill vibe at Paper Plane. We came here after a show at the SJ improv and enjoyed a cocktail and some apps. I wasn't sure what to order as nothing on the menu spoke to me. The Bartender was asked what I liked and whipped up a cocktail for me and was exactly what I was looking for. My friend got a non alcoholic beverage and found it refreshing. The oysters were delicious the empanadas were good but a bit rich for me. Always a good experience at Paper Plane!

Always loved coming here to get one of their special cocktails and their truffle fries but its always so crowded at night so it's lucky if we find a table. It was still early in the evening and we got to take the corner table for our big group and it was happy hour! We got Pimm's Punch and it was really good. We also ordered their Koji wings, truffle fries, and Brussel Sprout Tacos. I was really surprised with the Brussel Sprout Tacos because I never heard of those two being put together but it worked really well and the flavor was amazing.

Taking this one out of the drafts from the last month~I love about Paper Planes (and just DTSJ in general) during December bc of how they literally go ALL OUT for holiday decorations inside the bar. The music was a full holiday playlist, and the overall vibe felt super festive. The only downside was how its so packed. It was super crowded, most people are standing, and you're lucky to get a seat at a table or by the counter. We arrived at 10 PM on a Friday and had to wait in an hour long line before getting in. Drinks were $17 before tax and tip, with shots at $10.Drinks:Christmapolitan - Fruity with cranberry. Smelled amazing with the bruised rosemary. On the sweeter and fruitier end if that's your preference. 7.5/10Koala LaLaLa- Seemed liked the most popular! We saw the staff making six in one go lol You get to keep the stuffed koala, which is a cool souvenir. Personally, I wasn't a fan. The tequila was a little overpowering, and the lemon was supposed to make it citrusy but just made it too sour. Didn't seem very balanced but might have been because staff were swamped to get through orders. 6/10Christmasaurus - Probably my favorite! Really good pineapple rum drink. Actually tasted like the holidays with the rum and spice instead of just a themed drink. The stego mug was the cutest imo, and I was pretty tempted to buy it. 8/10Tips:If you're coming during the holidays, I'd suggest arriving earlier. Maybe around 9 or 9:30 to beat the long wait. Or going later at 11 or 11:30 might be better if you want more room to sit and talk. Also note there's also an outdoor patio in the back that I didn't realize was there until I went looking for the bathrooms. It seems like a quieter and more interactive space, but not sure since it was when the crowds were dying down.Overall, definitely worth checking out if you enjoy just going once for the festivities and don't mind the wait/crowd. I know this is a popular bar in DTSJ, so I'd love to come back when it's a bit less busy.

Loved visiting Paper Plane during their holiday pop-up. It was so magical and did not disappoint. We actually waited in line half an hour early on a Sunday to be able to pick our table before opening and order our drinks and food right away. This was definitely a good strategy because a big line followed us in after. I will be a regular from here on out because the Brussel tacos were out of this world good. My husband also enjoyed his food quite a bit. So glad more and more restaurants are going all out with their holiday decorations these days.

Christmas Bar pop up! Enough said! Actually, it was a fun and inviting atmosphere. We arrived early so as to avoid the inevitable crowd. I actually wanted to eat here because the food I saw at the other tables looked good. However, the people I was with wanted to eat somewhere else. Oh well, next time!

Always a first stop when I'm in DTSJ. Vibes are immaculate and staff are *chef's kiss*.Security, bartenders, etc. are all VERY friendly --Despite the long lines / huge crowds, I never once felt rushed nor did I feel like I was herded through my experiences here. To some, the atmosphere may appear chaotic but there was a mutual understanding that the experience was worth the wait. The security guards were nice at the door, even the minimal conversations that I've had with them were all merry. The bartenders were patient in receiving our drinks with "no worries, take your time".The drinks were --I enjoyed the koalala and the Santa's little helper(?), I believe the latter is the one that comes in a T-Rex mug. Each drink is quite unique and is interesting how they came up with the flavor combinations.Overall, very solid place to start or end in DTSJ. The crowd may be long but it is expected with the effort that this establishment has put back into serving their customers.

I came during the holidays to visit the Miracle on First Street pop up. They go hard with decorations covering every inch of the bar! It's such a great atmosphere to get you into the holiday spirit! In general, I love paper plane's cocktails and they have great drinks on tap if you're looking for a great happy hour deal. This bar is super popular so it can get really crowded with long lines during the holiday season. I'd definitely recommend stopping by, but go early if you don't want to wait in line!

Still one of my favorite bars downtown. We came most recently on New Years Eve to grab a couple drinks. It wasn't too crowded inside but we didn't want to fight for a table so we decided to sit on the back patio. I didn't even know there was a back patio, good to know when the weather warms up. I had a holiday special drink served in a Santa dinosaur. Always tasty and creative drinks here.

Absolutely a favorite in San Jose. Paper planes is already so busy during the weekends, but during Christmas time they have a holiday pop-up called Miracle on 1st. They fully redecorate for the holidays and it's so festive and lively. They serve holiday inspired alcoholic drinks in super cute holiday mugs/cups. The vibes are immaculate, but crowd is not. If you go on a weekend, it might take awhile to get a drink or a seat. Even on a weekday, it was difficult to get a seat even though it wasn't super packed. Regardless, Paper Plane is must visit!
