Another one of our to-go places for takeouts in San Ramon. A very fun take on the traditional sushi. We love their rainbow wrap and Salmon bake. It's just all around deliciousness. The fish is fresh and the portion is pretty generous. I would definitely recommend

My daughter suggested we try this place, but from the moment we arrived, it was underwhelming. The restaurant is whitewashed and sparsely decorated--more a bare-bones effort than an ambiance. Even the standard Subway interiors outshine this. But let's set the uninspired decor aside. We were greeted by a single staff member pulling quadruple duty as the cashier, waitress, hostess, and busgirl. While not outright rude, she was far from welcoming, with an air that was, frankly, indifferent. We ordered a selection of Miso Soup, Salad, Tempura, Gyoza, two wraps, two combination teriyaki plates, and a chicken teriyaki, totaling $91--a hefty price for a place of this caliber. Yet, the true disappointment was yet to come. Our Miso Soup, Salad, Tempura, and Gyoza never arrived. Ten minutes later, the indifferent hostess returned with only the teriyaki dishes, effectively calling it a day. When I asked her to cancel the missing appetizers, soup, and salad, she did so reluctantly, seemingly unable to grasp that people might prefer their appetizers before their main courses. To top it off, the food was anything but authentic Japanese. Having lived in Tokyo, I can say this tasted more Hawaiian than Japanese. I won't be returning to this place.

Went today for lunch and it hit the spot! We wished there was something like this out in Brentwood. Had the rainbow, hamachi ceviche, origami, a CA roll and miso soups. The soup was still being made so they gave us edamame which was very nice. Everyone enjoyed their hand rolls. The regular size was prefect for us. We wish there was more soy wrapper around the roll to keep it together. The miso soup was just ok but maybe because it didn't have time to build its flavor. They are extending their seating area so they will be nice. The shop is nice and clean. Employees were pleasant.

Nice little place and very nice staffs!Ordered the origami and the dragon. They were so nice about letting me substitue the fish in my origami roll (salmon lover). Food came out really fast. The shrimp tempura inside the rolls were so hot and crispy- loved that! However, in my opinion, the unagi sauce in my roll got a bit sickly at the end that I couldn't finish the last couple bites. Same with my husband with his dragon roll. Maybe it would've been better with some kind of refreshing herbs inside of the roll, like cilantro. All in all a good experience, thank you!

We were excited to test out this restaurant. However, after receiving the food items ( origami and San Ramon wraps), we must say it is not worthy. 11-13 bucks for a small half rolled is just too pricey!!

This is only my second visit to Origami. Tonight, we wanted to try something that the kids haven't eaten before. And three of the kids that I had tonight, haven't eaten there until this day then it became a new adventure for all of us today. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff. Sometimes, we have to take a few moments to make up our minds up on what we want to eat. Origami offers a nice selection of Japanese dishes and appetizers. Tonight, we ordered the dragon roll, the San Ramon roll, Spam musubi, and a potato croquette. The double dragon roll was a definite highlight. The combination of shrimp tempura, crab, avocado, and a creamy spicy sauce made for a flavorful and satisfying sushi roll. The textures and flavors complemented each other nicely. The San Ramon roll was just average in my opinion. With salmon, avocado and cucumber, it was a fairly standard roll without anything to make it stand out.The spam musubi, a Hawaiian specialty of grilled spam on rice wrapped in nori, was tasty and comforting. The salty spam paired well with the rice and seaweed wrapper. However, the potato croquette was a letdown for me. While the exterior was crispy, the potato filling inside was not my favorite. However, my kids really liked it and would order it again! We were happy that I was able to try origami today and had a very good experience. Next time, I think I'm gonna try the udon!

Origami is a casual restaurant offering a menu of Japanese-inspired eats with everything from teriyaki to katsu, udon, and donburi. But their most distinctive category was their wraps, which were oversized sushi rolls wrapped with rice paper and a layer of short-grain sushi rice. The Dragon Wrap came with shrimp tempura, unagi, kani, avocado, lettuce, and cucumber, making for a tasty, crunchy, creamy combination of ingredients. I also tried the Poke Salad, which came with spring mix, daikon, seaweed salad, onion, cucumber, and avocado, topped with a generous portion of cubed raw salmon and poke sauce. Overall, the food here was simple but tasty, and everything came at a fair value too.

Save & Send this to someone who loves Sushi Bake!! Origami is tucked away in the San Ramon Square plaza, but has been around for 3 years! At first glance, you may think this is a to-go joint for Sushi Wraps, but if you want to dine in, they actually serve restaurant quality Sushi Rolls, Udon, Curry, and Appetizers. But what you really need to get is their Sushi Bake!! This takes about 15-20 minutes, but it's sooo worth waiting for! * Scallop Bake (highly recommend!)* Crow Canyon Sushi Wrap* Salmon Poke Sushi Wrap* Origami Roll* Beef Udon* Chicken Katsu Curry* Appetizers: Ikageso Karaage, Gyoza, Spam Musubi w/ Tomago
