I honestly can't remember having better BBQ!! I am so glad we hired Smokey J's to cater our baby shower (with 50 guests). Working with Joshua was super easy. It was about 3 or 4 weeks before the big day, and I had put off the food situation. Joshua suggested that we go with the pitmaster special, and I'm super glad we did!! We went with delivery. The prices were very reasonable for the order. He arrived 15 minutes ahead of time despite having come from Oakland on a weekend (yay!!). I was a little worried about the food being cold upon arrival, but he had it all figured out with a portable food warmer, which was awesome. The food itself was amazing!! He brought literally everything one could want - beef tips, brisket, ribs, tri tip, pulled pork, Mac n cheese, incredible baked beans, the best bbq sauce ever, Cesar salad worth eating, and cole slaw!!! The food was so good and plentiful - some guests (max 8-10?) were no shows, but we had a really good turnout nevertheless and there was enough food for people to go back for more. We also had leftovers which were very much appreciated on our end. I should also mention that he brought serving utensils which I had not thought of beforehand.My only complaint is that I almost never host parties, so I have no idea how to get ahold of this amazing food again. Joshua, if you ever open a restaurant, we'll cross the bay to come :)!!

We recently hired Josh and his Smokey J's BBQ catering company for a last minute company event. He brought his incredible smoker and cooked BBQ pulled pork and chicken. All the food and especially BBQ sauce was delicious. Josh was very responsive to calls and emails and assisted with the planning of the meal. He was on time and did a great job having everything set up and ready. He gauged the folk's arrival and knew when to begin cooking and serving so the food was nice and hot. I received nothing but positive comments on the food and event. I would highly recommend Smokey J's BBQ.

Chef Owner Josh K. did a great job. The meats and sides were fantastic and set up was excellent. If you're looking for catering a special function, I highly recommend. On-site BBQ in the Bay Area is rare, and given that the weather is great most of the year-round your not bound to the "summer" cookout.

Josh recently catered (delivery) a BBQ dinner. Everything, and I mean everything was absolutely delicious. The guests kept getting seconds and commenting on how good it was. We ordered ribs, lamb, chicken breast, mac n cheese, portobella mushrooms with goat cheese, coleslaw, Cesar salad and corn bread. The lamb and the corn bread were some of the best I've ever had. The portions were very generous. Josh was super responsive and was honest about how much food we should get for the size of our party. The delivery and set up were seamless. Made hosting a party really relaxing.

SO SO Awesome! If you are after catering and want someone to just 'make it happen' for you, then these are your guys. We were over the moon with the professionalism, food quality, generally chillled nature and set up. You guys totally made our party - THANKS so much!
