Nora Spanish Cuisine | Paella & Tapas Catering

We had Nora Spanish Cuisine cater our wedding last month. While our experience with Nora wasn't perfect, there were many positives throughout and beyond our wedding planning coordination with them.Leading up to our event, we communicated solely with Jamie. She was very easy to work with as she was organized, flexible, and knowledgeable about what things her and her staff would be able to accomplish. We were able to make a few menu selection changes while staying within the same payment tier. She even came with us out to the venue the weekend before to make sure we were aligned on the event's timeline and so she could see the layout of the venue in person. We felt we were in good hands.We did have some issues with Jamie, as the Event Manager, and her staff arriving quite late (with no communication to let us know and with no apology) on the day of the wedding which led to added stress and resulted in a variety of downstream issues as they had to play catchup.Nevertheless, the quality of the food was excellent. We got many compliments about the food, namely the Paella Marinera, the Croqueta de champinones, and the Coca, and we enjoyed it ourselves. The chef and the bartenders were also really fun and kind, which improved our guests' experience.After the event, we had follow-up communications with Sergio, and he was very professional and a great communicator.Overall, I'm keeping this review fairly brief, but these summarize our main takeaways as to why we give a 4-star review, and why we recommend you try their food at La Marcha Tapas Bar ASAP: it's delicious!

After a successful tasting at the restaurant we decided to go with Nora (La Marcha) for our wedding & couldn't be happier. Food & service were fantastic. It's so rare that a wedding actually has good food and we wanted to change that. We fell in love with the food at the tasting & when we met their catering team we fell in love with them! They really added to the night. Owner, Sergio reached out personally to thank us afterwards. Highly recommend!

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONSeveral years ago I ate at La Marcha Tapas Bar at Berkeley. I really enjoyed my time at La Marcha while eating Spanish cuisine. Last year my cousin used this catering vendor for his wife's birthday. I was excited to find out that this catering vendor is owned by the same group that owns La Marcha. Some of items served that January night of last year were ham croquette, chicken empanada, potato ball, Brussels sprout, and Moroccan chicken. I was interested in the two kinds of paella: paella mixta and paella tres cerditos. My only time at La Marcha I had paella but not those two paella dishes. At my cousin's backyard there were two paella pans. The smell of the paella excited me with anticipation. The birthday dinner was ready when both the paella dishes were cooked. I noticed the paellas were the only dishes cooked on site; the rest of the items were pre-cooked. Granted I understand cooking everything on site is an impossible task as the main feature is the paella. The two non-paella dishes I like were the Brussels sprout and Moroccan chicken. The two paella dishes were flavorful. When it comes to catering the concern is throughout the night the food might get cold if it is not served in chafer dish. That was the case with food served that night as there was no chafer dishes to keep the food warm.Even though I enjoyed the food from Nora Spanish Cuisine - Paella & Tapas Catering I prefer hot, fresh dishes from La Marcha Tapas Bar.

I hired Nora Spanish catering to cater a 50th birthday party for my sister. I wanted the event to be special and Alexa made the party planning experience a breeze. The paella was delicious, the guests would not not raving! The dessert bar was the perfect finishing touch!

Excellent service, food, and experience. We had them cater for our wedding. We first tried their food at their brick and mortar restaurant, La Marcha. Instantly fell in love with the tapas and paella. They were communicative when planning, flexible when serving, and made our lunch banquet one to remember. Highly recommend to make your event special!

We couldn't have picked a better caterer for our wedding. Sergio, Emily and Jaimie were incredible at making our dream wedding a reality. They were attentive and helpful through every part of the planning process. When it came time for the reception, it was better than I could ever have imagined. I knew the food would be awesome, and it was, but the attention to detail, the professionalism, service and the quality were beyond anything I could have hoped for. A wedding can be stressful but I can say that with certainty that the guidance and precision from the team at Nora made the whole process smooth and easy. They thought of absolutely everything and made me feel confident that our reception would be perfect. And it was. If you are considering hiring Nora to cater your event, do it! You won't regret it. Nora Spanish Cuisine catered a paella party at a boathouse for us and it was wonderful! Everyone we worked with was very professional and detailed-oriented. We had a detailed plan when the staff would arrive, how the food was to be served (some tapas on a buffet table and some tapas passed), sides and paella served from the buffet table, leftovers were neatly packaged and set out so people could make take-home containers (we provided) and almost everyone did because the food was delicious! The platters we ordered were beautiful and any fried food was made on the spot so the patatas bravas and croquettes were hot and crispy and so yummy It was a very hot day, but there were always plenty of cold drinks and the bar/drinks table was immaculate - no stray bottle caps or used glasses, etc. Lynn did an excellent job in making sure everything went according to plan and was very good about checking in during the event if we wanted to do things earlier or later depending on the party flow.They left everything as neat as a pin and took all the trash with them. (For us it was definitely worth it to get the compostable plates and forks from them - the plates were very sturdy and attractive with a nice wood pattern design)

Ñora catered our wedding last week, and I will start by saying that the food was delicious and the day-of staff were awesome and very helpful. However, you do not want to work with them unless you are willing to quadruple check every last item, be stood up for phone calls, and accept that they will not take any notes on your allergies or preferences. I had to fix hundreds of dollars worth of incorrect fees (for example, entering the wrong distance for travel and charging extra admin fees). Even worse, we had been very clear that we had several people with life-threatening shellfish allergies (including the mother of the groom), and that we wanted our paella to be chicken only. Lo and behold, the day of my wedding, I walk up to the paella and it is covered in shellfish. We were extremely lucky that the venue was outside and that there was no cross contamination. When I emailed Ñora to let them know that this happened (not asking for anything, just informing them), we didn't even receive a reply, let alone an apology. To sum up: Food was great, servers are great, but this was the worst vendor we worked with by far. If I had to re-plan my wedding I would skip the headaches and go with someone more professional.
