Service could use a lot of work. Well, it looked like they served everyone else well, but us. Tried to wave down a waiter for a good 30 minutes after we were seated and set on our food order to take our order. Were completely ignored until we were about to leave.Food was incredible, but I'll order takeout next time.

$54 before tax and tip.I'm going to go back, because I'm certain I didn't order the correct dishes.First, the service was great. No issue getting seated, getting water and refills, ordering, and all of it.The spice bowls are awesome. The vinegar w/pepper seeds was good for the salad.The chili powder was a bit smokey and was good for anything.The chili garlic sauce was great on the noodles. All have their own distinctive heat.The mango shrimp salad was nice. But standard.The pad see-ew was a minor league chinese chow fun.The bbq combo was a lot more rice. The pork belly wasn't crispy, nor juicy. The skin side was tough and leathery. The other cuts of meat were more jerky like. Compare my photo to theirs online- different dishes.

The flavors remind me of what I enjoyed at San Francisco's Union Square! Though the restaurant's name has changed, the taste remains the same. The ambiance offers subtle Thai touches, and every dish is beautifully presented.Located in downtown San Mateo, parking can be challenging during busy hours!

Great experience here at New Thai Elephant. I came on a Sunday at around 11:30AM and there were plenty of seats available. First thing I noticed was that the prices were very reasonable for a Thai restaurant. Service was great and the staff were super friendly to us. I will definitely be coming back here when I am in the area.Yellow Curry: Flavorful curry and loaded with my meat of choice (chicken). Comes with steam rice and a small cucumber salad. Everything you would want in a curry.Crispy Chicken Wings: This is a must try! The breading is so unique and I've never had a chicken wings breaded like this. The two sauces paired so well with the chicken's flavor as well.Pad Thai: Delicious! Flavor is good and it is loaded. Some places have shrimp as an extra meat, but this one came with it. Noodles were a good texture and there was plenty of shrimp/tofu in it.Thai Tea: Come on, you have to get it. The ice bear is so cute! Flavor was amazing too.

This is my Thai spot in San Mateo. I've eaten at the restaurant and ordered here via door dash here several times. The food here is really good and affordable. The restaurant is a bit small, so reservations are encouraged for larger groups. Parking here is a bit tricky unless you park at the parking lots. The service here is great and the food comes out quickly! Would recommend here for some good Thai food!

Very salty but not as much as the pad kee mao so I just dealt with it. Very little (Thai) eggplant, mostly bell peppers and beef. Thai Iced Tea 4/5. Free with Yelp review. Review before you leave and show them your review. The bear ice cube on top is cute.
