1750 E 14th St San Leandro, CA 94577"New Hong Kong Restaurant" serves Americanized Chinese food in downtown San Leandro. I was driving around San Leandro on a Sunday evening, and decided to try this restaurant. First off, let me tell you the food here is excellent. Large portions, proper seasoning, and good presentation. If you order takeout or delivery from this place, you will have a good meal. I ordered, for dining-in:- Yang Chow Fried Rice- Pork Spareribs w/ Black Bean Sauce- Fried PrawnsService was decent. I really didn't like using a QR Code menu. The lady didn't come to get my order, so I had to go up and tell her what I wanted. My table setting was a plate, a fork, and a napkin. So I had to ask for chopsticks and a rice bowl. The decor is outdated. The old style tables and chairs look like 1980's era. But the food is good, and portions are large. I would suggest the restaurant print a few traditional fold out menus. Overall a good experience, maybe a 3.5 score. Yelp 4.0. Would I return? Yes! Good Chinese cooking!Support Local Business!

FEES, FEES, FEES! That is what is killing our small business restaurants!!!Seriously just don't know how to rate. Love the food from New Hong Kong and have been a customer for 20+ years, but all the crazy fees make it too expensive. Three items was $38, then adding the delivery fee, etc brought the total to $60! What happened to the days when you paid for the food plus tax and tipped the driver $5...? I have to draw the line somewhere and this is it I guess.

Yang chow fried rice was just okay, had long strips of cabbage and shaved carrots that I didn't like, also bland. Quick service and large portions

Whenever I order door dash for Chinese food, I order from here. I like their food. It's always good. Not the best, but consistent and close by. Usually gets delivered within 30mins of ordering.

My boyfriend and I ordered from here and it was not good at all. The hot and sour soup came cold, and tasted like it had been reheated over days and days. The sweet and sour chicken had barely any flavor and was all breading and really tough chicken. The rice and noodles were fine though it is really difficult to screw those up.Perhaps my experience was just the case because we ordered this for delivery, but I would think twice before heading here for good Chinese food.

I tried this place because I needed to make a quick lunch order on Doordash and this seemed like a good fit. I ordered a wonton noodle soup for my mother in law and she wasn't a big fan. I think they used the same thick noodles that they use for chow mein and she is used to the thin egg noodles. I ordered a tomato beef chow mein for myself, while I usually like the pan fried noodles, I like the flavors. Tomato beef is usually done a little bit on the sweet side with pieces of beef, sliced tomatoes and cooked yellow unions. Not the best I've had, but it was okay

Take out review: Best Peking spareribs I've had just about anywhere! The other items we got (salt and pepper fish fillet, dry braise beef chow fun, and BBQ pork fried rice) were good, not great, but the spare ribs provide PLENTY of reason to return. Prices are also cheap compared to other places around town. Can't wait to try out the rest of the menu! Quick tip - call to place your order instead of ordering online to save money.

No! Absolutely not. I'm sorry I don't want to be rude but that just wasn't worth the money I spent at all. Brisket was the only thing that was OK. Everything else no. No. I'm sorry
