New Gold Medal Restaurant

Good spot for Chinese food in Oakland Chinatown.I came by for lunch with a friend Friday afternoon around noon and it wasn't too crowded.They have a good selection of dishes to choose from. We shared #291 mixed seafood with bean cake in clay pot ($19.95) and #86 BBQ combination over rice with roast pork / siu yuk, roast duck, and bbq pork / charsiu ($20.95).We both really enjoyed the seafood claypot. Flavors were on point and it came with a generous amount of tofu and seafood. The bbq combo platter was just... okay. The bbq pork / charsiu was good, not as sweet as I was expecting, and the duck was decent as well, but I didn't like the roast pork / siu yuk that much. Other than the crispy skin which was done well, I found the meat to be super dry and bland.I'd love to come back and try some of their other dishes.

$$$$ Super expensive..$23 BUCKS squid..not even crispy..had to throw in Airfryer..if you don't care about money and want to spend more then pick this place..just say No..only good part it's their open til 3am $$$$.Thank-you

This place is a stable of Chinatown, but the prices are ridiculous. At $20 for a plate, Panda Express is a mighty alternative.The amount of rice is good for 3 people.

Ordered delivery for my sick toddler and found a piece of steel wool in the rice porridge! Unacceptable

Went back recently and it was great. Pig feet, scrambled eggs with fresh oysters, ginger scallion lobster, eggplant, all very good. Best walnut prawns I've had. Sometimes there's a service charge so check before tipping.

I ordered takeout from New Gold Medal Restaurant and had the Hot & Sour Soup, Baked Pork Chops, and half of a roasted duck. Everything was really tasty. I was surprised by the generous amount of ingredients in the hot and sour soup! The pork chops smelled amazing and tasted even better. The roasted duck was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. They also have a lot of selections on their menu.

The chicken wings are probably some of the best wings I've ever had! They're flavorful, all flats, and are always cooked to perfection!

seriously my favorite place to eat! thee best salt and pepper spareribs in the bay area! steamed sole! perfect! HK style pan friend noodles, super crispy! service incredible! ambiance a normal family style sit down restaurant and we came to beat the traffic!

Excellent food! Stays open late and can accommodate large groups - perfect after a night of clubbing! We grubbed it was the BOMB!
