Monster Pho

What a gem. So much joy packed into one tiny place.Large portions. Adorable atmosphere. Friendly staff. Not a ton of tables and it closes early (8pm). Place has many cute vending machines, a Photo Booth, a street fighter 2 arcade machine. I'd enjoy taking somebody on a simple tasteful fun date here. Midweek. Honestly, I was looking for food tonight that would sit well with an upset stomach I've been carrying. Simple pho and chicken noodles hit the spot. Again, staff was so friendly I almost thought they knew I was planning on writing a Yelp review. While I was there it was somebody's birthday-- the drove out the cake on a tiny little cart and sang happy birthday.

We love the new space, the robots, the fun things for kids to do. The staff is friendly. The food. Monster Pho has been my first experience with pho and since the first bite I've been a huge fan. Love the chicken pho. Broth is amazing and flavorful. The varnish is always fresh and plentiful. Their wings are the bomb. The grilled mix with vermicelli is so much food! My son loves that one. Everything has always been great. They grow some of their own vegetables and during the pandemic they really took care of healthcare workers and the elderly. I will always appreciate the vegetables given to my mother in law. I think it's a fun, slightly noisy when full restaurant. And that's ok with me!

Monster Pho really hits the spot! We went on a Thursday at 6 PM, and it was packed, but the 15-minute wait wasn't bad at all. As soon as I walked in, the smell of a perfectly simmered pho broth filled the air, and I knew it was going to be good. As someone who's had a lot of pho in my day, this place impressed me--I even thought, "My parents would like this," which is high praise!The decor is fun and inviting, with touches of Vietnamese decor for the upcoming Lunar New Year that add to the vibe. My friend ordered veggie pho with beef broth, and the staff made the adjustment with ease. I went with the brisket and flank pho, and let me tell you, I finished every last drop. The broth was truly exceptional--rich, flavorful, and comforting.The only downside? The price. With tax and tip, my meal came out to $21, which is definitely on the pricier side for pho. That said, the convenience of this spot (much closer than my usual go-to in East San Jose) and the quality of the food make it worth the occasional splurge.The atmosphere was great. Conversation-level noise made it easy to catch up with my friend over a warm, satisfying bowl of pho. If you're in the area, this place is absolutely worth checking out!

Let me say that I think the people and service can really make or break a dining experience. From the moment we stepped foot in Monster Pho, to even after we left, we felt the warmth and generosity that the workers here showed us. Super helpful, really kind, and incredibly welcoming. We ordered a TON of food, all of which I thought were both standard for vietnamese food and tasty. Some highlights for me were the Green Monster Iced Tea (easily chuggable), Monster Pho Combo (huge & comforting), & the Panda Leaf Coconut Waffle with Ice Cream (sweet pillowy goodness).The decorations here during October were INCREDIBLE. I do not doubt that they are on their A-game year round. Customized monster pho skittles machine, photo booth, arcade games for kids, creative signage throughout. Just so fun to look at inside! 10/10 atmosphere.

Really great food with even better staff and decor! I grew up in South Bay where there's plenty of Vietnamese food, but found myself missing it when I moved to SF. On the days where I just don't want to drive the hour down to San Jose, I'll cross the bridge and go to Monster Pho to scratch the itch. I've tried a majority of the menu, but the pho continues to be my go-to order. It tastes better every time I visit! The banh xeo is delicious too. Portions are huge! I also love that this is a peanut-free restaurant because my boyfriend is allergic to peanuts.Staff are super friendly, and the owner, Tee, reminds me of my best friend in Portland who also happens to own a pho restaurant up there. Pro tip: follow them on instagram to stay up to date on monthly specials! They whip up special dishes on the weekends that you won't find on their regular menu.

There are many things I love about Monster Pho. I started coming to this spot before they moved locations and it was a smaller restaurant off Broadway. I continue to love their service, staff, food, and of course, story (find it on their website). The ambiance is extra punchy and the robot vibes are real: they go all in on their theme, and I am here for it. Eating at Monster Pho is not just an event, it's an experience. Be prepared to be served water by your friendly neighbor robot (in training), snap a photo with friends and family in the photo booth, and get to enjoy the other attractions offered here.I usually opt for the chicken pho with extra veggie. The added dried garlic is divine. Bonus points for the sink outside the bathrooms and metal bead curtain.

While visiting my daughter in the Bay Area, she wanted me to try this place. It did not disappoint. Service, foods were on point! I love their Christmas decor. I had their bone in rib pho. Ohhhh my goshhhhhh! Broth so flavorful. Perfect! The bone in rib was so huge. For the price you can not beat it! We also had their imperial fried egg rolls. I can taste the shrimps and pork. They did not skim nor cut corner. Phenomenal! I also love their ice coffee. Normally Vietnamese ice coffee are pretty strong. Their coffee are well blended. I absolutely love it!. Also had the honor of talking to the owner, T. What a kind, generous, humble man. I'm definitely coming back.

Thank you, Tee, for your warm hospitality and for being so accommodating to my family. This is an exciting and fun place to eat with kids and they can be entertained here as well. The dining experience here is different from other Pho places because Tee and the other employees are responsive to your needs. Atmosphere is super chill. I'm not sure how anyone can rate Monster less than 5 stars! They are the sweetest owners and staff and so giving to the community. I participated in their Community soup day, and recently went twice back to back to enjoy their beef broth while I was sick. I'm so happy there is an option for good pho in the area so I don't need to go all the way to our Little Saigon.
