We tried the Malasadas trio. It came out hot but we didn't want to eat it before lunch. So by the time we got home and had lunch, it was an hour later. The Malasadas were very hard and the spot without the fillings was very bland. They were also very small for the price! Kinda disappointed. Don't think we will get it again.

Ordered from this bakery two days in advance online, to customize items, and everything went smoothly from there. Got the chocolate chip banana bread loaf with added walnuts, and oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips and walnuts (only comes in a 12-pack for preorder). I chose a specific hour-long window for pickup, and it was ready within the specified time frame. The lady was so professional and kind when she came out and handed me my items, the cookies packaged securely and the banana nut bread warm and seemingly freshly made. The perfect texture, and the taste was amazing, so much flavor and delicious melted chocolate, probably the best I ever had! And the oatmeal chocolate walnut cookies were pretty darn good too. I'm definitely a fan of Mom's Homemade Bread. I had never heard of East Bay Eats before. It's similar to Local Kitchens, with a bit of indoor seating (standard tables as well as countertops with bar stools). Now that I know, I may return for other food options when looking for some snacks in the east bay. And again, I'm 100% coming back for more of Mom's baked goods. I'm so glad I discovered this spot, totally worth the drive from the south bay.

We tried their banana walnut bread, which I thought was quite decent - I especially liked how moist the bread was, and the banana flavor really came through as well - but at the same time it tasted just like a decent normal banana bread, and it didn't feel mind blowing or extra special. I also think the banana bread could use a little more walnut because I only found one or two specs of chopped walnuts in each slice of the banana bread that I had. I think having more walnuts in the bread would make this bread more wholesome and added a nice texture. With that said, I thought the bread was perfectly sweetened, and it made a good breakfast with a cup of coffee in the morning.

I'm so glad I discovered Tina's hidden gem this year! I am a huge fan of her cakes, from guava chiffon to coffee crunch. I've also tried her other items as well and can attest to the quality of taste of the pastries. So delicious! I love how her pastries and cakes are not too sweet. This is located inside East Bay Eats in downtown Hayward. She aspires to bring Hawaiian taste to the Bay Area. I can attest the guava chiffon cake is AMAZING - moist, not too sweet, fluffy, and so decadent. I can eat this all day! But my favorite would have to be Rich's coffee crunch cake named after her dad. She perfected this recipe until her dad approves it. I can tell you, she certainly has perfected it! It's the perfect blend of crunchy and fluffy/smooth cake. The toffee bits on top are a nice touch, and love the subtle coffee flavors of the cake. I got these two cakes for my birthday and loved it. She is expanding her menu and trying out different flavors. Can't wait to try more of her cakes/pastries!

My go to bakery. Everything is delicious. The owners are always kind and easy to talk to. I ordered my son's birthday cake before this location opened and now we DD it regularly. The Chex mix is perfect. Sometime I just want a salty sweet snack. Chocolate haupia pie is my favorite.

I recently ordered the mochi bites for a work party, and Tina, the owner, could not have been more accommodating! When she heard they were for a party, she even plated them on serving plates for me. They were such a hit that everyone was asking me where I got them. I've also tried her guava chiffon cake and huapia pie previously, both also very delicious. You can tell she really cares about her craft. Don't sleep on this wonderful small mom and pop Hawaiian bakery!

Love this place and the owner is super sweet! I called ahead to see if I could pick up an order of ube cookies and furikake mix. These specific items weren't premade so she made them just in time for me to pick up. The items I got were delicious and the owner is super accommodating, definitely recommend!

I ordered a guava chiffon cake from Moms homemade bread a while back. I did enjoy the cake and it was tasty. The sponge part was light and fluffy and the guava jelly topping over the top of the cake was sweet and tart and delicious. The owner of the business is very kinda and responds quickly to orders and requests. The wok out of their home so there's no store front. You just pick up at a residential area and they will give the location for pick up. The reason i gave four instead of five stars was that I did feel the cake was a bit sweeter than my liking and wished the spongy part was lighter and fluffier texture. Also the cake is a bit on the more expensive side compared to the cakes I usually buy from chinese bakeries. I would contemplate buying cakes again because of the price but may try the other flavors for future special occasions

Mom's Homemade Bread was on my radar because David N posted all the goodies offered by this business...mochi, Chocolate haupia pie and of course, a Crunch Cake! Celebrating my sister's and brother-in-laws birthday decided to place an order for all the items above....ordering online was straightforward and simple with a mutual pickup spot from the Castro Valley BART station. Since I'm not a big fan of mochi or chocolate pie (I know, I know it's a texture thing) I can't fairly give a rating but guests really enjoyed these items. The Coffee Crunch Cake was delicious but have to say I have my favorite spots...the cake texture was more bouncy like an Asian-sponge cake with smaller crunch bits...not overly sweet with a nice balance.Reasonably priced, friendly customer service with a taste of Hawaii close to home.
