Best Dim Sum hands down that I had in Oakland. FAVORITE meal during my two week travel trip. I am a fiend when it comes to rice noodles and these are up there with my favorites. What a treat! What an experience!1. Pork Buns are divine2. Shrimp Rice Noodles for Days3. The Wonton Soup is a signature 4. Do not sleep on the Shu MaiMy Taste Buds officially rejoiced. Oakland City finally stepped up their food game. This place does China Town PROUD!

Cheap and delicious - what more could one ask for? I gave Ming's Tasty a try after hearing about it from a friend. Yelp reviews only further bolstered my excitement about the experience. My friends and I went at approximately 9:30 am on a Saturday. When we entered the restaurant, it was already fairly busy, and by the time we left (approximately 10:30 am), there was already a line out the door. I would definitely recommend getting there early (especially on a weekend), but I also noticed that they have an active "to-go" line for pick-up orders. That being said, amidst all the bustle in the restaurant, we were able to get our order in pretty quickly. It is all made to order, so the food is all hot and fresh when it is served. My personal favorite was the Palace Osmanthus Cake - it was extremely flavorful and I find that it is pretty uncommon at most dimsum restaurants. Other than that, many of the other items were also extremely delicious and flavorful. I will definitely be returning to try out more options!

The food was tasty but nothing outstanding or bad, just plain. Standard selection of dim sum. But, it is affordable.Service was attentive and ambiance was very lively,I did appreciate them giving us lighters and knives to celebrate my sisters birthday

I'm so glad my friends checked this place out on Yelp and recommended we go for lunch! It's a cozy spot with your traditional dishes, and service is quick. We didn't have to wait for a table on a Sunday early afternoon. We especially liked the siu mai and pan fried pork buns. Would recommend for local, affordable dim sum!

Expect hot typical dim sum, they open at 9am for the early birds, their XL dishes are $7.20 so that's the highest you will pay for the different options. Love allThe fried dumplings and rolls. They also have a few congee options and huge portions of wonton soup. Don't expect the service to be great. We had to ask for tea refillSeveral times before our tea or anything extra condiments would be brought over. Servers are not afraid to blatantly ask for tips if you didn't include in your total. That was one thing I didn't appreciate as I was going to leave cash. And gratuity should always be optional based on the service received.

Dim sum served all day and their prices are so reasonable it's hard to pass up. I wish their menu was a little bigger with other dim sum traditional dishes. Fast and quick service. Food is piping hot and fresh! Definitely have become a regular here.

Summary:Good value dim sum, hit or miss flavorsDetails:I'm not sure if it's just the way take out dim sum is here in the Bay, but the few places I've been never hold up against their actual sit-down counterparts. Ming's is similar to Good Mong Kok: you get some good value, with large portions at reasonable prices, but flavor is pretty hit or miss, with the miss usually due to things being way too salty. We found the various dumpling options here suffering from that and more (the chuichan dumplings were just kinda gross), which was a bummer since these tend to be among my favorite dim sum items. That said, the BBQ pork buns and lotus leaf sticky rice were actually quite tasty, and something I'd eat again. But, given that they failed at my main go-to items, I can't actually see myself coming back out this way just for these other items. If you're a local though, give them a try and make your own decisions!

I ordered takeout from Ming's and it was pretty good but not the best I've had. I liked the dim sum (har gow, sui mai, soup dumplings) but would not order the sticky lotus rice again (so bland!). The portions are generous. Service was fast and it was easy to order everything online.

I ordered online from Ming's Tasty and picked up my food at the store. I tried a variety of dishes, including the pork and shrimp dumplings, steamed shrimp dumplings, baked BBQ pork buns, egg yolk custard buns, pork ribs in black bean sauce, and fried tofu skin wrap with shrimp. All of the dishes were incredibly delicious and flavorful! I highly recommend the baked BBQ pork buns--the outer crust is slightly crispy and has a delightful sweetness. Every dish with shrimp was particularly impressive, filled generously with shrimp and very satisfying.
