The long line on a Saturday morning is very telling. Don't let the line scare you away, as we were not waiting for too long and the food is well worth it! All of the scones were delicious, especially the ube and strawberry yuzu. I wish I could try the spam, ham, and egg sandwich for the first time again. Top tier breakfast.

We went to try the breakfast sando's. We tried the spam, ham and egg,and the longanasia and egg sando. We also got the tostone potatoes. The spam has a thick scramble egg patti ,a layer of ham and spam. I would have like to have a crisper crust on the spam, but it still tasted great. The longanasia also come with a thick egg patti, I'm used to seeing it as a sausage not a thin slice patti. I actually prefer this to the spam sando. The potato come with a big portion. Easily enough to share.I recommend preordering your food,it looks like they make everything to order. I saw most people just coming and picking up their orders. The food was definitely worth the wait. There is seating available. Also there's no street parking in front of the store. We parked in the public parking lot down the street. The first 90 minutes are Free.

Today I had the best bread and sandwich I've ever ate in my life!!! Apologies to anyone I've complimented before cause I lied lol!Been wanting to come out and try for a long time, glad they were open while we were out there (I dont live in SJ), and already had my list of what I wanted to try. Got the Japanese egg salad sando, the breakfast sando add avocado and the HK toast. To die for, it was so fresh, so tasty and delicious, wow. Only sad part is I'm not close enough to come more often. Kudos to yall for good quality goods.

Delicious! Will definitely go back! Longanisa sando was delish! Nice and hot sando!I forget that egg salads are cold, so I actually quite enjoyed my husband's longanisa sando more than my Japanese egg salad. Don't get me wrong, egg salad was also yummy, but I guess I was craving a hot sando more.Service was also wonderful! We were greeted and my husband was immediately greeted with praises about how nice his hair looked. lol. Not as many seats, but I'd say turnover is pretty fast. Not sure how busy they get, but I would suggest taking food to go.

Milk Belly seems to have replaced downtown SJ's Hula Bar and Kitchen, so if you know the area, the streets are not the cleanest nor necessarily inviting. But this eatery is quite the opposite inside, modern and welcoming, with plenty of indoor seating available on a Wednesday afternoon, even for a small space.Service was friendly, quick and attentive, and my sandwich was ready in just 7-8 minutes for takeout. The breakfast sando was yummy. Made fresh, a generous layer of soft-scrambled eggs, thick slices of bacon, melty cheese, the bread soft but lightly toasted on the outside, an herby taste to it altogether. I enjoyed every single bite.

I took a few coworkers here for a mid-day lunch and let me just say, everyone has decided this is our new spot!We were a bit confused by the website at first, since Yelp showed offerings of sandwiches and savory lunch, but their website did not. Luckily enough, they do offer these delicious lunch items, so don't be put off!My friend tried the BLT on the soft shokupan bread, and I had the Green Machine on sourdough. Mine was so fresh and just what I needed for a workday lunch. It is pricey at $13+ but it's a really filling sandwich with clean ingredients. There were also options to put the sandwich on a black sesame bread or even a honey bread which also sounded delicious. We ordered the potato tostones and brought some back to the office-- everyone was OBSESSED. I love a good smashed potato and this one had the crispiest edges and punches of flavor.I didn't get a chance to try the scones, but that is definitely what I'm coming back for.The final tab isn't light ($20/pp), but I am happy to support a local business who is serving clean and fresh food to our community!

Ube scones...Ahh! They were SO good!! And we got to see them make em fresh! Chef kiss! Inside was so cute, comfy and I would love to work there one day. We got the Vietnamese coffee, and that honestly was better than a lot of Vietnamese places lol. Inside was so cute, like you got transported to Japan itself. The egg sandwich just brought back so many memories of being in Japan. It is a steep price point, but you get so much food so it's totally worth it! Bread is so soft and perfect with a pastry and coffee. The family running this shop was so friendly and sweet. They make all of their breads in house, especially the sourdough so definitely make sure to try some. I couldn't recommend a hidden gem enough!

I planned to walk around downtown, but I needed something to eat and some much needed coffee. I searched for bakery and Milk Belly came up. It's a hidden gem if you don't know what you're looking for. I parked down on Second St. and walked over. This is a cool unassuming bakery with a warm inviting vibe! There's some great baked goods to choose from and the whole place smelled so good! I asked what the scones were, and I chose the chocolate chip and apple pie. Both was very good, but it was the apple pie that was my favorite. They didn't have any hot coffees but iced Vietnamese which was perfect! Caffeine is caffeine...LOL! There's a long wall seat with tables and chairs, and a small high table at the front. Luckily I came late in the morning, since it wasn't crowded at all. The staff is really friendly! I loved the music that was playing! I would definitely come back by if in the area! Very unique!

Milk Belly has finally opened its doors in dtsj! I came on a Thursday morning before 10 and there was a small line already. I ordered the Longanisa sando & the Japanese egg salad sando. Both were super solid & flavorful. The milk bread was thick! They had a quite a few baked goods and right now there's also a coffee pop up as well. That coffee needs to be ordered in a separate line. There's a ton of tables to eat inside. There was a little wait for the sandos since it's made to order and everyone was pretty much ordering it. Parking: metered street parking or maybe the San Pedro parking garage for free 90min parking.

Got breakfast here at around 10 am on a Saturday. It was busy but a lot of people were getting togo and there's plenty of seating so we had no issues getting a table. We ordered at the counter and got our food in about 10 mins. The egg sando was very flavorful and each bite was perfectly balanced. The hong kong style toast was on the sweeter side but tasted very creamy from the peanut butter. I would definitely recommend getting both a sweet and savory dish because the flavors really balance each other out. The ambrosia milk tea tasted like a classic hong kong tea. Overall a very yummy breakfast!
