Visited Milan on a weeknight after making a reservation the day prior. My expectations were exceeded and then some!Food: 5/5 - Will provide details below. The highlights of the night were the octupus (Polpo Allá Griglia) and the Pici E Coda!Service 5/5 - Our server was attentive and helpful! She also made the best drinks :)Parking: 5/5 - The parking lot was very spacious. The restaurant is located in a plaza of other businesses and many of those businesses were closed by the time I'd arrived.Location: 3.5/5 - There aren't similar restaurants or bars within the same complex but Downtown Willow Glen isn't a far drive away. Interior: 4/5 - Very cute! Loved the lightingFood: - Polpa Allá Griglia ($23): Truly amazing. Perfectly seared and the bagna cauda sauce was fantastic- Calamari ($17): Really delicious! - Pici E Coda ($26): This was by far my favorite dish of the evening. I requested extra oxtail and I'm so glad I did. I definitely recommend.- Chocolate Mousse ($12): Yummy! Great way to end a great meal- Drinks: - I unfortunately didn't get a picture of the drink menu but I ordered the Basilico and the Bellagio and both were fantastic. I'd definitely recommend trying the Basilico!I can't wait to return!

Milan was a bit of a mixed experience for me. There were definitely some highlights, but a few things held it back.I ordered the Tonnarelli, a squid ink pasta with lobster, heirloom tomatoes, and red sauce. The pasta itself was perfectly cooked al dente, and there was a good amount of lobster in the dish, but I found it a bit too salty for my taste. My partner got the Pici e Coda, which had braised oxtail and thick pasta. I managed to sneak a couple of bites, and I thought the oxtail was super tender and flavorful!! Definitely a well-made dish. For appetizers, the calamari was a standout. It was crispy, lightly seasoned, and paired well with both the tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. The Caesar salad was pretty standard, nothing memorable. We also tried the Crostini di Bistecca, which was good--the steak was cooked medium rare and served on toasted crostini with creamy burrata. I think a drizzle of balsamic glaze would have elevated it a bit more. The restaurant itself has a nice interior with warm lighting, and parking was easy since it's in a large plaza. Now, the biggest downside: the service. Our appetizers came out quickly, but the entrées took noticeably longer. We had to ask for water refills multiple times, and overall, the service felt a little slow and inconsistent. Our server was friendly and checked in on us here and there, but it didn't feel very attentive.Overall, the food had some great moments, but the overly salty pasta and slow service kept it from being a standout experience. Might give it another try, but not in a rush to return.

Amazing little gem in San Jose. The restaurant is very minimalistic so it goes with the American Italian vibe I think they are aiming for. The service was fine, but a bit lacking. Just had to ask for our server a few times though when she was there was very accommodating. As far as the food the scallops were pretty yummy! The best part of our meal was the braised oxtail, we will be coming back for that dish alone. Both the desserts we got were also stand out so make sure to save room.

Celebrated a girlfriend's birthday here! The restaurant was nicely decorated for valentine's day. The vibes were very cozy & romantic. A good spot for date night or special events. We got several apps & pasta dishes to share! The apps were average. We got the Burrata and Calamari. Both were yummy but something special. The pastas were decent. The entrees that stood out were the Risotto Alla Diavola, Filet Mignon, and Spaghetti Carbonara. I'd recommend you to try one of these.Overall, decent Italian food with great vibes & attentive service. Wouldn't be my go to if I'm craving Italian but also wouldn't mind coming back if I needed a place with cute ambiance.

3.5 STARSForgot to make rezzies and need a hot date night place?Milan got you! This was such an unexpected find in Willow Glen because it's the trendiest resto I've been to in the area. Ideal for GNO or a hot date. Plan A didn't work so I found Milan on Yelp. They came through as we were seated promptly without rezzies on a Saturday night. Indoor and outdoor seating (dog-friendly) available. Never heard of Milan before and couldn't find much info other than it opened in February 2023 from the owners of A Bellagio (Campbell).M E N UNorth Italian Cuisine: Apps, housemade pastas, and entrees (no pizza). Full bar. D R I N K* Hendrick's Gin, shaken w/ a twist ($16): https://tinyurl.com/2rfu9uuwF O O D* Complimentary Bread w/ balsamic vinegar and olive oilThe bread reminded me of those take and bake ones but it was warm and free. * Avocado In Pastella: Fried Tempura Battered Avocado Frites w/ calabrian aioli ($15): https://tinyurl.com/2juxbsk8First thought? Where's the rest of the avocado because $15 for half an avocado is pretty ridic. Unfortunately, the execution didn't make up for it because the batter was soggy and soft. * Mondeghili Milanese: Meatballs w/ san marzano tomatoes, calabrian oil, provolone cheese, garlic toast (3 pc-$18): https://tinyurl.com/4mzmsyc5Traditionally made with meat scraps, the tender meatballs fared better with the savory and bright tomato sauce. However, $6 for a golf-sized meatball is steep. The accompanying garlic toast was just plain toast but provided the perfect vehicle to sop up the extra sauce. * Ossobucco Di Agnello: Slow Braised Lamb Shank w/ turnips, polenta taragna ($43): https://tinyurl.com/jebjt84eMy favorite part of the dish was the deliciously rich and creamy polenta with a kiss of salty sharpness from the cheese. The lamb shank was tender tho a tad dry and on the bland side.S E R V I C EAwesome service from our server (Sedi?) - friendly, warm, and attentive. Despite being the only ones on the patio, she was there when we needed her. Food service was on the slow side which was fine since we weren't in a rush. A M B I A N C ETrendy minimalism with neutrals and the stunning bar being the centerpiece of the indoor dining room. Front patio space is covered and has a nice firepit. P A R K I N GEasy, plentiful parking in the plaza. Overall, great trendy vibes and warm service. I usually temper my expectations for certain cuisines when dining in Silicon Valley (i.e. New American/California and Italian) and the food turned out fine. IMO, the apps were quite overpriced so rounding down.

House made pastas (especially the carbonara) were great!! Wine selection was great, we got a bottle of sauv Blanc that was super good! The service was a little slow and we had to ask several times for our waitress, but the Christmas ambiance and decorations were super cute!Tiramisu and panna cotta were really good as well! A nice casual/upscale eatery in Willow Glen!

I've been here twice now. I found it to be pretty average the first time we tried it, but I wanted to give it one more shot, so we booked a table on my birthday. We ordered the avocado in pastiella which was okay. The tempura batter got soggy pretty quickly. The polpo alla griglia wasn't very tender at all. The calamari was overly salty. The meatballs were decent! Tender, not dried out, and good flavor. I enjoyed the lasagna too but found the portion to be small for the price. The bread they serve with olive oil and balsamic is very good too! So soft and fluffy. Service wasn't great. They sat us away from the main dining room and we were the only diners in there for quite sometime, though there were plenty of tables in the main dining room. Maybe they wanted to sit us away because we had a baby? Fair enough. We don't mind and understand that reasoning. But it took quite some time to place our order and hard to get anyone's attention since we were tucked away. When our waitress finally came by and I let her know we were ready to order, she said she thought we were waiting for other guests. But when we first got seated we told her we just needed a couple more minutes to decide our order so not sure why it took so long for her to come back. Food came out in a timely manner though so that's a saving grace. And then once more we waiting a long time to get boxes and the check. I see other reviews where people celebrated their birthday and got a dessert on the house but they didn't bring anything for our table. So I'm really unsure what their standard is in terms of celebrations, seems inconsistent. Anywho after two lackluster experiences here, it's safe to say I won't be back, despite how beautiful the restaurant is and how much I really wanted to enjoy the food here.

It's a nicely decorated restaurant inside a plaza. Plenty of parking when we were there for a holiday girls dinner. Upon entry, there's a square main bar area. Total seating areas weren't that impressive but they have private rooms. When we were trying to order the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, our waitress advised against it and suggested us to try the 2017 Roccolo Grassi Amarone Della Valpolicella $75/bottle, which tasted better. We also ordered a Vietti Perbacco Nebbiolo 2021 $55/bottle but it was just ok. I wish there were more reasonable choices of Italian reds. The food portions were not as big for a table of 8 to share, so we had to divide into group of 4 and order for just the 4. We tried antipasti "Polpo Alla Griglia" which is the grilled Spanish octopus. The octopus was ok, a bit small in portions but the small amount of squid ink gnocchi was the highlight. The Gamberi Nero was ok, the corona beans was delicious. For the secondi, we ordered Tonnarelli which is quite creamy but really a very small portion for the price tag of $42. The Ossobucco Di Agnello lamb shank is ok, the meat is soft and I like the turnips more. The Risotto Alla Capesante seared scallops are ok, a safe dish and the farros in butter was tasty. The Orecchia di Elefante Milanese breaded veal chop is the biggest portion of all dishes, which is a big piece of fried veal with a salad that has no dressing. Desserts are not as impressive. The tiramisu was overly sweet and lacking the balance between coffee and sugar. The supposed to be mascarpone cheese also seemed too heavy. The pistachio panna cotta was ok, it tasted more with almond flavor than pistachio. The Tarfufo which is supposed to be Italian truffle mousse tasted just like coffee ice cream, very disappointing. The worst is the Zabaglione al Fruitti Itlaian custard which is soaked in sugar and we couldn't find any components of custard or peach sorbet. On a Sunday night this place is half full, so we had the main dining area mostly to ourselves. Our waitress came pouring water a few times and was generally attentive. But I am not planning to come back for a second visit.

Milan is an upscale Italian restaurant with a stunning interior and wide selection of delectable appetizers and pastas. The travertine bar is a statement piece in itself as it extends to take up the majority of the restaurant space. The bar space is thoughtfully adorned with high end, aesthetic wine and liquor bottles. The high ceilings, stunning chandeliers, and Italian themed art work just adds so much to the graceful ambiance. The menu offers a wide range of shareable appetizers like charcuterie, calamari, and meatballs. For drinks, they have an extensive selection of wines, cocktails, and more. We came to celebrate my dad's birthday and we had a very pleasant experience. We made reservations ahead of time and were seated about 10 minutes after our reservation time. Everyone from the host, waitresses, and runners were all very nice and friendly. To start off the meal, the fresh bread basket wets your palate. The bread is warm with a fluffy soft interior that pairs well with the accompanying olive oil and balsamic vinegar. * Calamari - This is definitely one of the best calamaris I've had in a long time. The calamari has a nice thin batter that is seasoned well and especially tasty with a drizzle of fresh lemon juice. The texture is perfect, not too chewy. * Meatball appetizer - This is a great starter. The meatballs are tasty and the marinara sauce pairs well with the meat. The baguette slices were just ok, i would rather enjoy this dish with their bread rolls. * Grilled octopus- The octopus was perfectly cooked, tender and snappy. The seasoning was kept very simple with a strong lemony kick. *Gnudi e fungi - I have never had a ricotta dumpling like this before so I was pleasantly surprised. They remind me of mochi icecream in a way. The skin is thick and chewy with a dense creamy filling. The truffle essence adds this subtle earthy tone to each bite. This dish feels quite heavy so I would rather get this and share with a couple of people. * Pistachio panna cotta - The kind staff brought this dish out for my dad's birthday so we were so grateful. The panna cotta itself is pretty average since it is so dense and heavy. The dessert is strong in pistachio flavor though. We had such a pleasant experience here and would come back again to try more dishes. We were looking forward to trying the crab cake but it seems like the menu rotates every now and then so it gives you something to look forward to every time.

Id stick with the appetizers if I come back. I had really high hopes for this new restaurant but o was a little underwhelmed by the food. The inside of the restaurant has a nice bar and then multiple rooms and large tables for bigger parties. I think the ambiance and the decorations inside were nice and classy. I arrived a bit later so my party had already ordered appetizers. The pulpo and the beans with shrimp. Their appetizers were incredible! I thought the octopus was cooked perfectly, the sauce was great and the beans were also not mushy and well seasoned. We were really looking forward to our meal, but I was a little underwhelmed by the main course. The pasta was a bit plain and didn't have any exciting or stand out flavors, and my dad said the lamb shank was also just alright. For dessert, I'm a big panna cotta fan so I got the pistachio panna cotta but it ended up being a bit denser/thick than I like and too sweet for me. I didn't get a chance to try their drinks but the next time I come I'll probably pass on the main courses.
