Hot damn! I never write reviews but had to for these tacos. Perfectly bbqed meats + sauces featured in mexican street tacos??! Ya gotta be kitten me why haven't I seen this before?Not just the unique combo though. The meats were perfect both from a flavor and texture perspective. Honestly just go get you a plate, nuff said

We hired Chef Aaron's tacquero services for a party of 40+ ppl. The entire experience from start to finish was very easy, professional, timely, and the tacos were incredible.We were a bit stressed piecing all the event things together due to the crazy bay weather we've been having, but Chef Aaron was very communicative throughout the coordinating process to make sure we had all the things for a smooth setup. He was also very accommodating for dietary restrictions for a few of our guest.The food setup looked great despite working in the small space we had. Chef made it all work! The cooking / serving station was perfect, the salsa / condiment bar looked delicious, and the pineapple fresca was refreshing. He also gifted us his own dry rub and bbq sauce, which was an unexpected nice touch. (Didn't try the rub yet, but the bbq sauce is crazy!)We ordered the brisket and the mole chicken tacos with rice / beans for 40+ ppl and everything was hitting! Chef also provided a wide variety of sauces, which I regret not trying them all. Chef was super cool to talk to and attentive to all of our guest. He was cranking out hot tacos fast keeping all of our guest happy and fed.Couldn't be happier with the food and overall catering experience. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

If you happen to need a bite to eat on a Wednesday afternoon.. look no further. Chef Aaron will hook you up! Food+ Big portions at great prices! Where else can you find a BBQ plate for ~$14 with 2 sides included? or $6 for 3 tacos loaded with meat??+My recommendation would be to go with the brisket (if it's on the menu that day). It's hands-down my favorite BBQ offering, tender and juicy! +The ($10) tostada order comes with 2 and it's LOADED (protein, lettuce, cilantro crema, cotija cheese beans) +Add your own toppings (pickled onions, jalapenos, carrots, cilantro, onions)+The BBQ Sauces are TO DIE FOR. I suggest you try all three: Tequila BBQ, Mole BBQ, and Tamarind glaze. I would slurp it up if that was socially acceptable!!+Other offerings: tequila ribs, smoked chicken, pork belly, carnitas, watermelon al pastor, soyrizo/nopales. Menu changes weekly, so call in to see what Aaron prepared for the day+Sides: Coleslaw, mac salad, street corn, & more. Also depends on the day+Aguas: I prefer the jamaica (hisbiscus) lemonade; it is def better than starbucks. The strawberry horchata is also unique, though a little chunky; you'll like it if you like cinnamon.Location-It's a no-frills backyard BBQ type of place. There are 2 picnic tables set up to eat there or you can take your order to-go. +Lots of street parking available or pull into the driveway to pick up your orderWhat else to expect?Come with an open mind and hungry stomach. Chef Aaron delivers on flavor and with his friendly personality. Be prepared to engage in conversation, its a neighborhood place! Everyone's super nice. Cash and venmo accepted for payment. Last time i looked at website. i noticed a friday only opening. today drove by, didn't see any signs. it's a residential house.today, website lists a wednesday only. maybe i read it wrong or hours have changed.

This place is incredible! From the homely feel good vibe to the delicious food, Mexi Q is my go to hump day lunch spot. All recipes are Mexican inspired and hand crafted by Chef Aaron. My first time here, Chef Aaron came over, shook my hand, and personally welcomed me. It was busy with people chatting, having a good time, and he still took the time to come greet me. Incredible man!I've had everything on the menu and am head over heels with the watermelon pastor tacos. I also love the mole and I don't even like mole. This mole is different. I don't know what kind of magic Chef Aaron uses but it's working and I'm eating it up!If you haven't eaten here, then you're missing out. You can't get a better meal for $10

MexiQ is a great reliable and tasty catering business. When doing event planning and community engagement with the East Oakland I've used MexiQ for catering three times and they were a hit each time. The food is bursting with flavor and the portions are always generous for the price. Most recently, July 13th, MexiQ catered for our East Oakland Neighborhood Initiative community feedback party at Tassafaronga Recreation Center. Many residents gave kudos to the corn and Jamiaca juice. Looking forward to booking them for future events. :-) #TOWNBIZ

Chef Aaron is not only an incredibly talented chef but a charismatic and welcoming host. He makes sure his customers feel right at home with his delicious home cooked food. I've tried all the different tacos on his menu and hands down they all ROCK. A personal favorite of mine was the watermelon pastor. Get friendly enough and he even CATERS! I always look forward to having a free Wednesday to swing by and fill my belly.

We had Chef Aaron cater a birthday party at our house with about 50 guests and it was an incredible experience. From the start, he was professional, friendly and easy to communicate with. Prices were very reasonable, and the food is unbelievably delicious. He was punctual, set up a buffet for the party and cleaned up after. Our guests were obsessed with the bbq tacos, and many got like 4 plates bc they loved it so much. Veg options were available for my vegetarian friends too. MexiQ will be my go-to for any future parties. Thank you Chef!!!

I had a slightly tricky request for catering trays of tacos and ribs. Chef Aaron worked with me, came up with a great menu and it was ready for pickup when he said it would be. My friends loved the food and we'll be back again.
