Marita's Sweet Potato Pie

Bought a small peach cobbler, carrot cake cupcake and a German chocolate cake cupcake. My father passed away 4 months ago and I don't know what is sadder.... Him passing or me never trying this delicious bakery.The carrot cake tasted like something out of heaven. Made by a grandma from the Midwest or something.The German chocolate cake had me feeling like I was in Obersrdorf again. Enjoying a delicious desert near a warm fire after a long day of skiing. The peach cobbler reminded me of a long lost life once lived in the state of Georgia. It was like when Ego, the food critic from Ratatouille, tastes the ratatouille and a wave of nostalgia, love and comfort washes over him.The man behind the counter was very welcoming and friendly. The store it self is tucked away in a strip mall but is quiet and clean. Very mellow place.A must try for any desert lover. 9 thumbs up!

The dessert and service were excellent! I highly recommend this place & the red velvet & sweet potato.

These pies are some of the most disgusting, artificial tasting desserts that I have ever encountered! I don't know how this company is still in business! Avoid!!

Ma'am, this cake is so delicious how can I buy a whole cake so I'm not buying just a slice every time thank you for your services in the community. Your cake is the bomb.

I had the sweet potato cake from Ray's Fish and Chicken in Sacramento and it was good. I wish it had more of a sweet potato flavor but that didn't stop me from eating the whole thing. It took me three days to eat it but it was still good after three days. I kept it in the fridge so I suggest warming the cake up for 10-15 seconds, the frosting melts but it's still very very good.

Any time my family orders the velvet cake for a party or occasion it's everyone's favorite I'm sure the Other cakes are delicious as well but the velvet cake is my favorite try it you won't regret it!

Parking can be a bit tricky, sometimes you have to circle around the lot. Once inside, the store is kept rather dark and non- descript. The menu is well placed and the dessert display makes your saliva glands go into overdrive! We got 7up pound cake. Lemon Bundt cake, sweet potato cake and sweet potato pie. All were freshly baked and super delicious. Not too sweet, very moist and rich. The staff was very helpful in ordering. Each cake was big enough to serve 12 generous slices. Next time I want to try the caramel cake! You can buy whole cakes, or by the slice. With or without the cream cheese frosting, each was delicious! Congratulations on satisfying our sweet tooth!

I used to love the red velvet cake but the new owner has changed the ingredients. He really skimps on the frosting which should be cream cheese but it tast like a sweet buttercream.. I say if it's not broken then don't fix it.. If you are honoring Mr Marita then you should have kept his cake the same way that he made it or at least as close to it.

It's probably better at the shop so I can't give a honest review but would love to visit then in person this only from what I tasted from IT'S refrigerator

Had to find a whole German chocolate cake for my husband's birthday and Marita's was the one I found on Yelp. Didn't disappoint. Cake was perfectly done with the proper frosting on the top, sides and middle. The cake tasted great even 2-3 days later.
