Still the best banh cuon in San Jose! Yes the place looks ghetto but the banh cuon still taste amazing like it was in the 90s! I have bought the banh cuon here since late 90s when they first open and still the same lady that takes the order. She has gotten older now but she's still nice as ever and always give me next year calendar.

Talk about hole in the wall!I was super excited to come here cause I'm sick and tired of paying $20 for a plate of banh cuon in a restaurant only to get like 3 rolls. Here, you can get a pound of banh cuon for $6-$8. Now this place is not for the faint of heart. You can easily mistaken it for an old storefront that's been abandoned. Pre-Covid, you could eat in the shop. When the pandemic hit, they started only taking orders through a window/counter and it's been like that since. When you peer through the window, it might make you question your decisions and make you want to turn right around. Stay, and you'll get some pretty good and cheap banh cuon!We got 3 pounds of banh cuon with meat. Was it the best banh cuon I've ever had? Probably not. Was it good for $8/lb? HELL YEAH. We'd come back.I've never been but my mom says their other location is cleaner. Although this place definitely didn't look that clean, it didn't bother me enough to go out of the way just to go to their other location. I was worried we would have trouble finding parking based on all the reviews but it wasn't too bad. We didn't have too much trouble on a Saturday afternoon.

Ordered 1.5 lb of shrimp noodles and 1.5 lb of plain noodles. The shrimp noodles came with a dead bug and a strand of hair. The plain noodles came with a small dead fly.Needless to say, dinner was ruined!

recommendations:- pull up and put your hazards on, hard to find parking - remember to ask for plate/utensils/fish sauce, there are benches outside so you can eat on the spot - to-go orders and cash only sweet little grandma running this lil banh cuon joint. walk up to the window and put in your order. no frills, bang for your buck. for $7/lb, it could easily feed two ppl, v soft and fluffy. not as good as tay ho but would come back to support the locals

Hole in the wall fresh banh cuon - best in the bay. They make it fresh and it always comes out so soft and warm. Such high quality , yummy banh cuon you can't get it like this anywhere else. Also affordable and very quick service you only wait a few minutes.

Can't believe I found this place. Another hidden gem. If you love bánh cuốn (rice rolls and veggies) this place is operated by the owner just like in Vietnam. They speaks Cantonese and Vietnamese which is also a plus. Hard to find. But pay attention to the sign. Kinda sketchy area but just get your food and go. It's just a window.

I grew up eating Banh Cuon, so I really wanted to love this place. The Banh Cuon (rice crepe) here are a bit different, I think they have mung beans on it which taste good but different. They sell the banh cuon by the pound which was a good deal.

My family has been coming to this Santa Clara location since I can remember. Whenever we visit SJ, we always stop by this place to get our favorite yummy banh cuon and fried pastry (forget the name). I am very particular when it comes to the texture of banh cuon. When you put it in your mouth, it melts and blends nicely with all the other toppings. Warning: you can't just have one plate because it is that good! I usually save my hungry tummy so that I can have seconds and thirds if I know that is the day we are visiting this store. Thank you for making such delicious and authentic Vietnamese banh cuon! A must visit place for those that have not been to.

I have just tried this place this morning. For my opinion, the quality of the food here is: 1. Fish sauce (nước mắm): is BAD as the other Vietnamese restaurants in San jose. It seems like they don't know how to make a STANDARD Vietnamese fish sauce in a correct way. They should learn how to do a GOOD fish sauce before opening a restaurant ! 2.Vietnamese pork roll (chả lụa): is very BAD, and probably it's the worst quality of Chả lụa that I have ever tasted in my life so far ! So, don't buy it if you don't wanna waste your money to buy Chả lụa here except you really wanna try how bad it is ! 3. Steamed rolled rice pancakes (bánh cuốn): is OUTSTANDING and VERY DELICIOUS for the quality ! This is probably the best Bánh cuốn that I have ever tasted in San Jose. I'll come back here only for Bánh cuốn. Hopefully they will try to improve the quality of their fish sauce and Vietnamese pork roll next time !

The food was good, fresh, but not as listed prices. However, it is only one lady run the place. I think different lady I believe? The banh cuon is delicious, and the place also have name Thanh Tri now. Btw, to be clear on one thing, I don't know would the price change to tomorrow or not, but it is not the same as picture. Second, the place listed as import foods. The food is made right there, fresh, and is not import food. Third, the lady don't really speak English, so who did that to the website to her must be angry, or hostile towards the matter. Not sure is it a family affair or not, but keep that in mind, and understanding next time you see her weep. Listen to both side of the stories, and understand the decisions both side made. Leaving 5 stars for the foods.
