A hidden gem. I try to stop here for a solo-dinner whenever I'm in town for work because the service and food is always amazing. I also love the vibes and decor... super trendy and welcoming. I always order the Vegetarian Sampler, and I love that you're able to customize the dishes in the sampler. The bolokey/tofu tibs is on another level...Ethiopian is my favorite cuisine so I've eaten a lot of it over the years, and LeYou is in my top 3 for sure highly recommend, especially for vegans/vegetarians. So many delicious options.

Delicious Ethiopian cuisine. Very friendly and courteous wait staff. Clean restaurant. I appreciate incorporating the furniture into the interior design and I admire the sturdy tables and comfy cushions.Really enjoyed the spices in their key wat. Their alicha wat was good for those who prefer a milder taste (but still has a little kick to it). Both stews were good with chicken or fish. I prefer the key wat of the 2 stew types. The chicken was fall-off-the-bone soft.Eating all that injera made me so full, so I didn't leave room for dessert but they have some nice selections.Would love to come back and try other things on the menu.

I would give this place a 3.5 stars. Our first encounter once seated was ants on the table which didn't start off greatly. However, the menu itself was unique and I was happy I was able to try this cuisine. Our server gave us recommendations and please note that there is a $25 minimum charge per person for dining. Two Meat Stew Items Combinations 1. Key Wot Stew with Doro (chicken drumstick) - Mild spice but flavorful2. Alicha Stew with Asa (pieces of white fish) - protein choice went well with this sauce

My friends and I saw this on the Michilin list and decided to try it out - none of us had eaten Ethiopian before. When we first got there there were some ants on the menu - not a huge problem but worth mentioning because I saw other reviews about this. The Ethiopian spiced tea is delicious! I got the tibs, my friends got some stews, and we also got the ahi tuna appetizer. The flavors were all great, everything has some spice to it. The service wasn't phenomenal, but there was only 2 waiters for the whole restaurant. There wasn't much explanation or tips when we asked.

There were ants on the table and the employees didn't offer to do anything. We had to complain another time for them to rudely offer to move our table. There were ants on the second table they moved us to...Food is good but not good enough for the servers to tell us that we have to order a minimum charge.

The ambience on this Ethiopian place has a really nice vibe. There were plenty of tables instead. As a group of 4 vegetarians we tried the following :Sambusa - 3/5. This was on the spicy side. Nothing exceptional.Stuffed jalapeños - 3/5. This was just a cut up jalapeño with a mix of onion and tomatoes.Veg Combination platter - 4/5. We tried 8 different veg. Don't remember them all , but they were quite good. Some of the were the lentils stew, chickpeas stew, the house seleta, cabbage. We didn't enjoy the beet dishes as much. The injeera was nice and soft.We really did enjoy the desserts.Baklava - 3/5.Banana bread ice cream - 5/5. This was really good. We enjoyed it so much , we ordered 2 of them

We stumbled on this place while driving and parked in its small plaza. We looked at the reviews here on Yelp and saw that it had a bunch of good ratings and setted on eating here. The wait staff was friendly and gave us good recommendations on appetizers. We got the mildly spicy chicken stew, solid injera, and the cabbage appetizer. Would like to come back and try the other items on the menu!

I've tried a handful of the Ethiopian places in SJ and I think LeYou has a slight edge above all of them in terms of...well, everything! Guide Michelin also seems to agree...We came here on a winter night for dinner service. LeYou comes equipped with the latest and greatest Toast ordering system in case you're ready to order yourself, but the wait staff were attendant and helpful with our questions about how the family platter ordering worked.Flavors were super spiceful and tasty! I especially enjoyed the Shiro and Beef Keywot. The tuna dish was a little on the salty side for me. Last but not least...they've got great injera! I'd come back just for this specifically.Lastly - the atmosphere of LeYou was super traditional but also classy. Definitely not run down or dinky like some of the competition :P

Love myself some Ethiopian food. I was not familiar with LeYou tho...Da Wahini suggested LeYou after noticing it on Social Media somewhere. LeYou was added to the Michelin guide in 2023. I'm not going to argue with that. I liked the interior decor, it's one of the nicest Ethiopian restaurants I visited. We chose to try one appetizer and then opted to share everything family style. Our main course was the Meat Combination & Vegetarian combination served family style.#EthiopianEats~ Kitfo Bites (Ahi Tuna) - 5/5 Medium SpicyI wasn't aware of an Ethiopian dish with seafood, let alone raw fish until I tried this. Very tasty. Packed with flavor. I haven't had a raw Tuna dish like this before, best way I can describe it is ground Poké with an extra flavor burst.(A.) Keywot: Two Meat Stew Items:~ Sega (Beef) - Keywot - 4/5Your standard Keywot. Tasty and not too spicy.~ Asa (Fish) - Alicha - 5/5The Fish was on point! Cooked to perfection with flavor galore. I'm guessing some kind of light fish with white meat. Deliciousness...(B.) Four Vegetarian Sampler:~ Okra - 4/5~ Miser/ Lentil Stew - 4/5~ Shiro / Chickpea Stew - 4/5~ Kay Sir - Cold Beets, Carrots, Potatoes, Peas - 4/5Everything was delish! Although we did enjoy the meat dishes here better than the Vegetarian options. We thought they were tastier. No issues with the service. Staff were brilliant; helpful, patient and friendly. Will return and try other dishes. L'-TAY-nah-chin!
