I went to Leisure Cafe for the first time today and was impressed overall by the food. It was delicious, comfort food at an affordable price. So the ordering system is a QR Code on the table. Scan it, put entrees in the cart and submit order. The food comes to the table very quickly. I ordered:XO Roll Noodles: these were delicious. Some of the best I've had. Savory and tasty morsels of noodle rolls.Curry Chow Fun: I don't think I've ever seen this combo before but it was good. If you like curry and you like chow fun, it's a match made in heaven. The curry is flavorful. They said it was spicy but I didn't taste much spiciness.Spare ribs over rice with egg: the runny yoke going over the meat and rice was a nice blend of flavors. It's a nice hearty entree of spare ribs.Baked Pork Chops: I wouldn't have minded this being a little less sweet and more savory. But it was a tasty meal and enough to share with another person. Cheesy, tomato-y, dish.Service was ok. Nothing to write home about. The decor is simple, casual, and clean. Pretty good Hong Kong Cafe in San Leandro.

Stopped by on a Thursday and it was pretty crowded inside at 8pm. They were closing early at 8:30pm this night, but we only came for dessert. The dessert menu isn't on their online QR code so we had to flag someone down for the menu. Then we had to flag someone down again to get tea, as we weren't served tea like the other patrons.Dessert itself is okay. It's in the area so it's convenient. I'm a huge fan of the black sesame balls in the ginger soup, and sheeessh it was super spicy! I think more sugar could be added, it's it's fine. The red bean tofu was silky and not too sweet.

Been here twice so far, a very authentic Hong Kong-style restaurant. There's a QR code on the table for ordering. *Hong Kong Style ToastThis is the classic French toast you would typically find in Hong Kong. It's my favorite dish out of the three we tried today. The butter and syrup are individually wrapped and placed on the side. It's absolutely delicious, but there isn't much peanut butter filling between the slices of bread. Adding a bit more would enhance the layers and elevate the flavor of the entire dish.*Hot Milk TeaIt comes with sugar, and tastes great. I would definitely order it again next time.*Shrimp Wonton SoupThe wonton filling is fantastic, and the size is just right!*Baked Steak with Black Pepper Sauce and RiceUnfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of this dish. The beef steak is flavorless and relies entirely on the black pepper sauce over the rice. The beef tastes like it's been defrosted from the freezer, and the sauce seems to be missing something to make it more complete.Overall, a great and solid spot!

Acceptable Cantonese cafe that serves the mainstays of chow fun, chow mien, chow fan, Jook (but no Chinese donuts?!?), chicken wings, spare ribs, rice bowls,... yeah you get the drift..it's a cafe. Also has Chinese desserts. The service is uneven, one lady says use the QR code on the table with your phone, the other more helpful lady comes over with the IPAD and asks what do we want from looking at the online menu. We tell her and she pops it in the IPAD for us. We have been there numerous times and have ordered on the IPAD on our own after requesting the IPAD... such inconsistent procedures. We've had: Salted Fish Diced Chicken Fried Rice (decent with good amount of salted fish), Beef Chow Fun (man the beef is chewy?!?), Curry Beef Stew Chow Fun (spicy), Honey Glazed Pork Ribs (fried and then honey glazed - messy and meat can get tough), Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings (Korean FC Wings are better), Salted Pork and Century Egg Jook (Good but no doughnut available), Ong Choy (why are greens so expensive?), ....Overall, food is decent, service is inconsistent, bathrooms are worn and dirty, while dining area is bright and clean.

Friends and I came in for desserts after having dinner nearby. We ordered egg puffs, sesame pudding with mochi, mango sago with ice cream, peach gum dessert, and mixed fruit with jelly and shave iced. Portion seems a lot smaller since the last time I was there. Overall it's still good but lack of portion size and not sweet enough.

I love the food at Leisure Cafe!!! As far as HK style cafes, I'm not sure there is a better one. To me, Cafe Bakery in SF comes close, but their styles are a bit different. Also, the waitresses are really nice here. They're the same ladies as far back as 2019, when I first started coming here. Steady staff means happy staff so management must be doing something right. Today, I wanted to try something different besides my usual baked pork chops, or curry beef brisket, or the oxtails. I had the spare ribs + bitter melon, a personal favorite dish of mine that only the most authentic Chinese restaurants can master. Gee! It might have been one of the best spareribs+ melon I've ever had. Totally serious!!! I only wish I lived closer to Leisure Cafe.

Our 19th Hole lunch. To order you have to scan barcode on your phone. It was busy but we were able to get a table for 8. Parking lot is shared with Safeway and CVS but beware it's 2 hour limit and we did see tickets on some of the parked cars.Good food. Nice ambiance. Good portions. Service is OK and good at the same time! We ordered 5 dishes to share. We ordered too many rice dishes but we will be back to try some of the other dishes. We ordered Baked Pork Chop over rice, Baked Chicken over rice. These two dishes tasted the same; difference was only the pork chop or chicken. Minced Beef with raw egg over rice (you can choose raw or cooked egg). Beef Chow Fun (dry) and Beef Chow Fun with Black Bean (gravy style). Will want to try some of their clay pot dishes or we should have tried Baked Spaghetti since we had ordered too many rice dishes.I am sure we will be back to try other dishes. I'd actually give Leisure Cafe a 3-1/2 star rating.

Leisure Cafe in San Leandro is a delightful no-frills Hong Kong style eatery that offers a comforting and nostalgic dining experience. This unpretentious spot serves up a wide variety of traditional Chinese dishes, including baked spaghetti, rice and beef, and an extensive selection of noodles, all reminiscent of the casual cha chaan teng cafes found in Hong Kong. The baked spaghetti is a standout, perfectly combining al dente pasta with a rich, savory sauce, topped with just the right amount of cheese for a satisfying bite every time. The rice and beef dishes are equally impressive, featuring tender, flavorful meat paired with perfectly cooked rice that soaks up every bit of the delicious sauce. For noodle lovers, Leisure Cafe does not disappoint. Whether you crave the simplicity of a classic wonton noodle soup or the robust flavors of beef chow fun, the menu offers something for everyone. The portions are generous, making it great for sharing or for those who enjoy hearty meals. The ambiance is simple and straightforward, focusing on the food rather than frills, which adds to the authenticity of the experience. The service is efficient and friendly, ensuring that your meal is enjoyable from start to finish.Overall, Leisure Cafe is a hidden gem in San Leandro, providing an authentic taste of Hong Kong cuisine without the need for elaborate décor or high prices. It's a perfect spot for those looking to enjoy comforting, well-prepared Chinese food in a relaxed setting.

Leisure cafe is a solid hk cafe in San Leandro. You can get all the staples like hk milk tea, lemon iced tea, egg puffs, pork chop rice, spaghetti bolognese, mango pomelo sago, etc. and it usually ends up tasting pretty good. Overall, it's a solid choice for hk/canto food. There's always open seating and service is super no frills. Also decently easy to find parking since you can always park in the Safeway lot that it extends into.

The food is amazing. Its an HK style restaurant that represents authenticity. The ambiance of the restaurant was very warm and cozy, which went along with the food. The service is great. You walk in and scan a QR code on the table and then they bring your food to you. They usually help you if you need anything, from napkins to utensils. And if you need to go boxes as well. Definitely the best restaurant for HK food. P.S. : its connected to the T4 next door so u can order T4 inside Leisure cafe!
