I found this place about a year ago but man I sure do wish I found it sooner. I love their handmade corn tortillas so I always go for a cheese quesadilla with extra cilantro and onion. They don't use lard in their beans so I get a side of those too. Also no chicken broth in the rice! So bean and rice tacos are a must. They have 3 salsa options but my favorite is the green. They all have a good kick too. Service is top notch with the cutest friendliest couple (I think). They have chairs and tables set outside for you under a tent so you soak up the fresh air or people watch drunkies. They are pet-friendly since it's outside and have vegetarian options like potato and bell pepper to replace meat. Already can't wait to come back!

Been meaning to try for a long time after passing by then quite often over the years! Placed a phone order and stopped by to pickup some tacos on the way to AMC Eastridge. I knew I wanted Tacos and seeing four different types, I ordered three chicken tacos, one of each kind - street, autentico, and a tijuana. Couple of friends ordered a mix of Al pastor, carnitas and chicken.Okay now to what was unique. The chicken was what I had and it was pretty good. It was a tad dry which is probably because they didn't want to make it greasy/oily which is a good thing. More oil obviously enhances the taste. I'm okay with the healthier version! The spicy salsa was not that spicy for me, I thought it was more like medium. Was good nevertheless. Now to the differences between the three styles of tacos. The handmade tortilla is noticeable easily because it's much softer. Both the Tijuana and the autentico style come with handmade and these tacos have only a single corn tortilla. Whereas, the street tacos come with double corn tortillas. Meat and onions are on all, and the Tijuana comes with a splash of avocado which makes it a little creamy and gives added flavor. Personally, I liked all three styles and I might just get a mix of all three styles next time as well. It gives a good mix of different types of tacos. My friend felt the al pastor and carnitas were much better than the chicken. So from his perspective the food was a 5/5. From mine more of a 4-4.5/5.$26 for two plates or three tacos. Probably a tad expensive, I am not sure if they have a credit card fee or not but they do accept credit cards now although they may prefer cash. I did pay with my card. Otherwise, easy to order over the phone, they ask and keep it ready based on what time you'll arrive which is great to keep it as fresh as possible. It wasn't too crowded on a Saturday evening which was a surprise in DTSJ. They were also generous with the sauce, and asked me if I wanted 4 of the spicy salsa. The spicy salsa itself is medium in terms of spice. I also got one of the medium salsa and didn't like that much, so go for spicy. Some extra grilled onions on the side would have been nice! They also have a nice enclosed seating area which is great! My friends were parked outside as I got down and picked up my food, and it was quick. Otherwise you have to enter and park in the lot where they are, and then the fee gets waived I guess once you get out and if you have eaten here. Will definitely be back if around the area.

Came here for a quick bite to eat before going to see a show. The pros: 6 tacos and 2 drinks for $32 so pretty affordable (but I know cheaper taco trucks!), good salsas (spicy salsa is always a must), and fresh ingredients. The cons: limited seating, must pay cash or apps like Apple Pay, and okay flavor. we ordered an array of taco types and meat types. I think the favorite was shrimp with avocado and the chicken. But, we were not that impressed with the overall flavor (especially the carnitas).

Hate to have to do this but I really didn't appreciate the service I got today at Toñitas so I need to update my review. I placed two orders so that I could get two receipts as one order was for another person. One order was for a burrito with a can of soda and the second order was for 2 Tijuana tacos and a can of soda. As she was entering my order for the two tacos I saw she only input 1 so I told her it was supposed to be 2 so that she would charge me the right amount. I went to grab my soda while I waited and tell me why the woman taking orders yells at me that I had only paid for one soda when she saw me holding two cans as I was waiting to which I was very surprised the tone she used and I showed her my TWO receipts that showed my two orders with two different order numbers because she tried to say it was the same order (one receipt had 480 on it the other had 481). To add to that, she called out 81 which should have been my two Tijuana tacos and she hands me one taco which I thought was strange but maybe the second one was coming and she called out a few more orders then again calls out 81 and it's 2 regular tacos. So I asked her which was supposed to be mine since I ordered two Tijuana style tacos and neither one was that order and she takes the single taco from me saying "that wasn't mine" and gives me the plate of regular tacos. At this point it was clear she was in a mood and I wasn't going to say anything more to her, she clearly wasn't able to accept that she had a mistake on my order and wanted to take it out on me and I wasn't going to argue with her. Won't be coming here again. If the staff has problem taking the correct order, that's not the fault of the customer and don't accuse people of taking things when very easily they can show you receipts.

I always pass by this spot walking home and I finally decided to try it. I ordered a burrito with carne asada for $12. The man was verynice while taking my order; he called me 'mija' and I just felt really comforted lol. Anyways, it didn't take long for the burrito to be made and I LOVE how they sear the outside because not a lot of places to do that. It was actually a huge burrito and it was very filling. I love the sauces they offer; the spicy one specifically is so yummy. I'd definitely check this place out again.

One of the best taco trucks in San Jose. Only complaint is that its not open 24/7 LOL haha. I recommend getting the veggie potato taco. I was a little skeptical about this taco at first but my oh my it is so good. I also like the tilapia taco and the chicharron prensado taco is low key underrated. Love everything about this place and would recommend it to everyone.

Stopped by here after attending the Monster Jam at the SAP Center. We arrived close to 9PM and the place was popping. In terms of environment, Las Delicisa de Tonita is a food truck slinging burritos, tacos, and classican mexican food. This place is quite popular so it was crowded when we arrived. Seating (while limited) is outdoors and covered. For our order I got a carnitas burrito , my girlfriend got a vegetarian burrito, my girlfriends brother got a chicken burrito and we brought back an extra carne asada burrito for my girlfriends mom.Food took about 15 minutes to get ready and we were able to find a table in the meanwhile. The burrito I got was good - it was griddled and crisped up which was nice and the fillings were tasty. With that said, I feel like I may taste in burritos may have been spoiled by living in the Mission District for two years - I found the filling to be dense and lacking in terms of protein. I got a carnitas burrito but there wasn't nearly as much as I expected. The rice and cheese also just didn't incorporate together as much as I would like. I still would recommend stopping by this place - what I did have of the carnitas tasted great. I would most likely stick to tacos next time.4/5

Though this spot might not seem like much just from passing by, they're serving up some of the best tacos in town! Located in a parking lot dtsj, this food cart serves up fresh Mexican food all day long. We came here with a goal to try as much as possible, so we ended up ordering 6 tacos, each with different meats. All of the meats we tried were good, but the standouts for me were the al pastor and carnitas. All of the meats were tender and full of flavor. We only tried the tacos on our visit, but I'm excited to go back and try some more from the menu next time. They have a few tables that provided a good amount of seating. There's metered street parking right next to the lot that they're in, then of course parking in the lot as well.

I visited this place after Urban Putt in downtown San Jose around 9:45 PM. The food was just alright. My partner and I ordered the asada and pastor tacos, Tijuana style, but unfortunately, they didn't quite live up to expectations. The meat lacked flavor, and the avocado salsa was bland. The establishment operates out of a parking lot, and by 10 PM, they had already run out of pastor and chicken.

I was staying in San Jose with my family for a wedding and stumbled upon this place on Yelp as I was looking for spots for a quick lunch nearby. This was a short 3 min walk from our hotel which was super convenient. The truck is parked in a lot and has a little tent next to it with seating which I thought was very nice. We got there at 2:15 pm on a Friday and even then the place was pretty busy so I cannot imagine what the night rush hour looks like! The service was very nice, all the people who worked there received us with warm smiles and the delicious aroma of their grilled meats which filled the parking lot. They have a varied menu with a few different items but I tried:- Chicken tacos: they have different styles that you can order for the tacos, I had a street style and a Tijuana style. The street style was very simple with just onions, cilantro and lemon. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and so tender, I was blown away. The simple style really highlighted the flavor of the meat and the delicious handmade flour tortilla (which we literally saw them make in front of our eyes, so as fresh as can be!) The Tijuana style was similar but it had a spicy, creamy kick from an avocado crema that also elevated the taco by adding a subtle complexity which did jot quite disrupt other elements of the taco. This latter one was a favorite amongst my household! - Mulita: I got a mulita as well which had two tortillas sandwiching a nice amount of melted cheese, onions, cilantro, and a meat of choice (I again got chicken), and this was also fantastic. The tortillas were also handmade but felt a little thicker, and heartier. The cheese was a little salty and perfectly enhanced the spices of the chicken. I added some of the spicy salsa on top and it was divine. This was my favorite and was very filling on top of the two tacos. - Burrito: my fiancé got a burrito with al pastor which he really enjoyed. Naturally, I tried some of his meal and it was pretty good. The tortilla was super soft and fresh, it came generously filled with refried beans, rice, cheese, guacamole, a little bit of sour cream, and al pastor pork with pineapple chunks which added a nice sweet touch. The pastor seasoning was also very good but everyone agreed the star of the show was the chicken! We liked this so much we actually contemplated coming back the day we were flying out to get one for the plane.Overall, this was a very good spot to get that quick street Mexican food fix while in downtown San Jose. Their seating area was very nice and allowed us to enjoy a great meal in the gorgeous California weather. All ingredients feel so fresh and are soo good! I'm definitely going to miss spots like this now that I'm back in the East Coast. I also had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Toñita and she was such a delightful human, I would come back just to say hi to her but I gotta say her tacos are too good to say no to. I definitely recommend this place for delicious tacos in Downtown San Jose.
