La Santa Torta

If you're in the mood for birria, look no further. This spot has such tender and flavorful birria that it may or may not make you forget all past birrias you've tried. Victor is the chef and owner behind La Santa Torta and he has an obvious love for what he does, which honestly makes the food taste better. He made our tacos super quickly too. If you like spicy, ask for the red sauce!Their brick and mortar location has closed, but you can find them on 1025 3rd st in Oakland.

La Santa Torta was at Brix brewery on Sunday! We ordered the Quesabirrias and it was honestly like being transported back to Mexico City. I'm only giving this 4 stars because the consomé was room temperature and it should be served hot.

I don't even live in Oakland and I would do the drive any day just to have these. I found them on ig by accident I said I have to get my hands on some of that and OMG! It was soooo good. 100% recommended

When you are craving birria tacos in Oakland this is the spot. Come hungry two tacos are very filling.

Caught them off W Grand and had to stop by. I've seen the truck everywhere but haven't had a chance to try. I ordered the Chile Relleno Torta and wow! I never thought to make it a sandwich but man was it good! The chile relleno was nicely seasoned and crisp. They had some additional toppings inside the toasted bread, as well as, a consommé on the side. I was in a rush so I just dunked the torta straight in and ate it that way. Brilliant flavors, generous portions and quick service. They didn't have drinks which was a slight bummer. Next time, I'll ask that the torta be cut in half and ask for some side jalapeños and cebollita to round off the flavorful tastes. Wi come back again.

The best birria tacos I've had so far. A bit pricey for a food truck, but not outrageous. If going for the first time, definitely spring for the consommé with your plate, it's super flavorful, but be warned, it's quite spicy.

Food -- was phenomenal! Eveything was hot and fresh. Very tasty and flavorful. Very authentic birria tacos. The taste was very much so there. Service -- the service was amazing! The lady was by herself handling the register and making food. 2 of her employees called off but not once did she complain. She handled that very well but did let customers know she was working alone for time purposes. She was great! Very attentive to everyone's needs and made sure everyone's food made it out promptly. Ambiance -- I loved the location and the ambiance of the restutant. It's located in West Oakland near train tracks and there's a brewery next door. Tons of parking. The inside is very pretty. Decorations and paintings inside. Love love this place! Def recommend people who want amazing birria. Oh and the churros are DELICIOUS! Yummm

La Santa Torta was at Faction Brewing last Sunday and we ordered three separate orders of red tacos (3 cheesy birria tacos for $16) x2 and one torta. Our order took 45 minutes while we were standing in the hot sun, very little to no communication on order wait time, and then when we finally got the tacos they were underwhelming: not enough cheese, dry meat.Very disappointed in the wait time. This is my 3rd/4th time at the truck and usually the wait isn't so long.The consommé also continues to come in styrofoam cups with a plastic lid and that is an unsustainable option. Styrofoam lasts 500 years in the earth and cannot be recycled. Please switch to paper/compostable options!

Awesome food truck. A little bit more expensive than what I usually think of when I think of a taco truck, but I think the quality is definitely worth the price. The meat was tender and flavorful, and I liked both choices of salsa on the side. The red one has a good kick to it, and the green is milder but still yummy. I will note that they were a little messy to eat (like most tacos) so have napkins on hand. The elote chido was great as well, and comes as a pretty large serving. It was a bit creamier than the elote cupe I've had previously. There are benches in front of the truck if you want to eat outside, and an alright amount of parking (went on a Friday afternoon). I'll 100% be going back soon.

I had some birria tacos, best tacos ever. The owner was really friendly and customer service was 10/10.
