I tried a few pastries, and the strawberry pistachio was my favorite--mostly because I love pistachio! It had the perfect balance of sweetness, and the combination of flavors was spot on. The caramelized melted cheese added a delicious depth, making it a unique and satisfying bite. I also enjoyed the lemon Danish--light, flavorful, and just the right amount of tartness. Overall, a great selection of pastries!

Cute little bakery next to Standard Fare where we had brunch. Asked the lady behind the counter what are their best sellers and she said their caneles and their pistachio croissant so that is what we ordered. Will have to come back to try their other offerings.

Just incredible! The flaky layers in their pastry and richness of butter they use is unmatched. I had one with a tomato and cheese filling and probably one of the best things I've had in my life. They also have one with tiramisu crème which is delicious. Not particularly accessible or in a busy neighborhood means less traffic for them (wish they'd get more). Superb price for the quality of what they offer. Truly a hidden gem!

Oh La Noisette. I had you bookmarked for so long. But while everything looked and sounded amazing, much of what we had didn't seem as fresh as one would have expected. The croques flavors seemed to be good but the croissant or bread part of it was a little stale as were the pain au chocolate. No fluffiness or airiness at all. A little flat and soggy actually. I looked forward to the noisette the most as I love a hazelnut and chocolate combo. But same on the bread part. Didnt taste fresh. And the toasted hazelnuts were a bit stale. Disappointed bc I had held high hopes. But perhaps we came on an off day.

I had a random craving for some caneles for a few weeks and was looking for a pastry shop that wasn't in the city that I could visit! Searching on Yelp, I found La Noisette Sweets and realized I walked by the shop once but it wasn't open that day. This time around, we came on a Saturday morning and it wasn't crowded. Service was quick and the staff was friendly and patient while I decide on my order. If you like French style baked goods, this is a great place to check out. The caneles flavors were great, not too sweet! I would come back just for this. Since their pastries menu changes, I would come back to try the other pastries next time. If you're looking for seating area, there's a small section of benches outside for you to sit down and enjoy your pastries.

I have returned many times since Alan and I were here in 2020, but this is my first update. I have bought a variety of pastries, some sweet, others savory. I have bought the hazelnut tart I mentioned in that review, as well as kouign amann, pain au chocolate, various cookies and and other baked goods, whose details I can't remember, as well as multiple savory flans for dinner. They make two kinds, one mushrooms and feta and the other spinach and goat cheese. I don't have a preference, I just buy what strikes my fancy. They are small, a single serving, and they make a wonderful dinner entrée along w/ salads. Today, for the first time they had pastel de nata, the Portuguese egg tarts I love. I commented that I had fallen in love w/ them in Lisbon and Alain said he had too. This was the first time they had offered them, so it wasn't that I just hadn't seen them. I bought one and had it w/ my afternoon tea, warming it a bit. It was delicious. The spinach flan I bought today served as the main part of my dinner tonight, heated in the oven so it was hot. It has a lovely texture and the flavor is good.

Amazing French bakery in West Berkeley, walking distance from me... Is that a good or bad thing? They are only open twice a week so at least that helps my self control. Wow, the pastries here are all done very well and extremely professionally. I'm so glad to have stumbled across this place in my neighborhood. Will be a Wednesday regular :)Favorites so far: the plain croissant (amazing!) and the breakfast savory Chaussons. But everything is spectacular, try them all!
