The best bakery!!!!! Love their pastries, lemon bars fruit tarts and baguettes here. My family would literally make me come here just for their baguettes. We love brig fruit tarts to family occasions, it's always a hit. The weekends gets busy so make sure you come early. Staff is really nice. Street parking.

Pretty good, it's better than some other bakeries! I didn't really find anything extraordinary here but everything was good enough at least, definitely not bad. They are friendly and quick. Place is cute, stuff is very nicely presented, I love how it looks, just the place is kinda small. It feels a bit crowded. I think they can comfortably serve up to 2-3 people at the same time at most.Definitely not good for groups. Ideally just come in alone and spend no more than 2-3 minutes inside.

Was searching for a last minute fruit tart for a holiday dinner and found this cute little bakery. So glad I did because the fruit tart was a hit!Not a fan of kiwi? No problem since there are so many combinations of fruit tart toppings making this place ideal for anyone who wants a delicious fruit tart. Parking may be difficult on the weekend but the service is quick and courteous.I'm adding this place to my list of best bay area bakeries. Can't wait to come back to try their savory options since they also have plenty of seating.

Love all the baked goods they offer. The oatmeal cookies with lemon frosting are addictive. Fresh baguettes both small and large in a variety of flavors are always gone so quickly. Loads of delicious deserts (lemon bars, cheesecake, pies).

My friend and I came later in the day so lots of pastries were sold out already. We decided to split a madeleine and strawberry cheesecake slice with a friend. The madeleine was nothing special but the cheesecake was great! The filling was very soft and smooth, with layers of a strawberry mousse/jelly. I don't think it's my favorite version of a cheesecake but I definitely enjoyed it and I can see why others may find it their ideal cheesecake!

I've been to La Farine Bakery's many locations in Oakland: College Ave, Fruitvale and the Piedmont Ave over the course of 20 years...their popular item has always been the morning bun but I prefer an almond croissant that's flaky, with a nice, sweet almond filling. The big draw for me is their fruit tarts and lemon cheesecake...the tart crust is buttery, cookie-like and keeps firm while holding a pastry cream and decorated artfully with fresh fruit...sooo good! Whenever I bring one to a gathering it's a big hit...I used to make them myself but appreciate the ease of picking one up. The lemon cheesecake is simplicity: creamy, yet firm atop graham cracker crust with a delicious lemon topping that isn't too tart or cloyingly sweet...and at a perfect price point! The Piedmont location is clean with their display cases full even up to lunch time. Service is basic and not the friendliest I've encountered but works. Metered street parking ($2 for 2 hours) and free residential on (some) of the side streets. A couple of tables but most take items to go...plenty of coffee shops along Piedmont Ave

A solid bakery. We arrived there Sunday Morning around 9:30am. There wasn't a line when we walked in, but when we left the line was around 7 deep. We went specifically for one of their fruit tarts, family size. They also sell them individual size. We got the one with Strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, kiwi, mango and custard on a shortbread crust. It was as good as anticipated. It was only $25 for years, but went up this last year to $27, still a good deal. We also got a morning bun, ginger cookie and a pumpkin Madeline. The morning bun was even better heated up in our toaster oven. It was very light and sugary. They have limited seating in their little shop. A few groups were seated and eating their pastries. They also have fruit and yogurt parfaits. We saw 2 people eating them. The rest of their party were eating pastries. They sell both house coffee and drip coffee. For your milk options on their condiment stand they also offer almond milk. Parking is street parking. It's a little tricky to find a spot. We snagged one on the following block in-front of one of the other shops. There was a homeless person begging in the entry way of the shop next to La Farine. He was polite.
