I wish someone told me about La cueva earlier than when I found out about it, because this place is absolutely amazing. Really good tacos and burritos, La Cueva does not miss one bit. I got their veggie and chicken tacos and they were so fresh and flavorful. The best part is the fresh chips and green salsa they give. They also have fire burritos and enchiladas so I will be coming back again and again for their authentic Mexican eats!

This is a really late review, so I apologize that I didn't post this in a more timely manner after I went here. I stopped by with some friends to order takeout, there were quite a few people in line but the line moves fairly fast.I ordered a vegetarian burrito. The free chips provided with it were pretty good and savory. The burrito itself was fine, it could've used some stronger flavors overall, but I liked the crispy outside of the tortilla. My partner got a grilled chicken burrito, but it unfortunately was very oversalted. No one else in our party had that issue, so it might've been just an outlier.

Decent. An affordable and average bite for some Mexican food. The restaurant itself was kind of dimly lit, not sure if that's what they were going for but I couldn't really see the big menu lolService was great, and I really liked the chips + green salsa they give when you sit in. Tried lengua, asada, and pastor and it was all... well, decent. What else is there to say

Unique taco flavors Tried the duck taco and it was fantastic. The flavors were rich and unexpected. The mole sauce added a great depth. A must try for foodies

Never disappointed when having Mexican tacos here! I ordered shrimp, sea bass, and beef tacos. My favorite was the beef taco, followed by the sea bass, but the shrimp was a bit of a letdown. The prices are reasonable, the service is excellent, and I'll definitely revisit. This is my top choice for tacos around here!

Place never disappoints. I can eat the green salsa everyday!! I felt confident enough to start recommending this place to friends and also dragging them along. The kids went bonkers over their chips and salsa this time around and created a huge ruckus for more!!

If you want to eat where the locals go in West San Jose, La Cueva's the spot! Located at the back of a small, unassuming shopping plaza, La Cueva offers a variety of Mexican dishes--tacos, burritos, nachos, tortas, quesadillas, gorditas, fajitas, tostadas, and so much more! Plus, they offer chips and salsa whether you eat in or order to-go!I think their burritos are definitely one of the most popular items on the menu. I usually get the Al Pastor Burrito, which is not only tasty but also a great price! All of their burritos come with rice, beans, sour cream, cheese, guacamole, salsa fresca, and tomatillo sauce. Their fish tacos are pretty good too!La Cueva also has a good number of seafood dishes. One that I like to get (except I usually order it a la carte as an addition to my entree) is their Seafood Chile Relleno! Tasty, cheesy, and it has a decent amount of different seafoods mixed in! I don't see a seafood version of chile relleno at many other restaurants, so it's always something special that I can get from here. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available. The parking lot can get pretty crowded during peak lunch and dinner time, but there's usually a steady flow of people going in and out, so it's never been too bad.

Came here with some friends on a Sunday afternoon and ordered the Wet California Burrito. Service was quick, and I liked that they offer free chips and salsa while you wait. The burrito was solid, albeit on the saltier side--plenty of sauce and cheese, with well-cooked meat. The fries inside were also pretty goodI'm in the area often, so I'll probably stop by again.

12/2/244.5 all day. Don't know what more you can expect at these very reasonable prices. The food is delicious and I'm a very picky eater. The Breakdown:1. Super Taco Al Pastor $3.75 - excellent!!2. Shrimp Ceviche Tostada $7 - delicious!! 3. Chicken Soup $7 - Good, not great (would love to see them add a Sopa Azteca to the menu!)4. Free Chips & Salsa - I didn't know what to think of the bright green salsa at first but it was absolutely delicious. Definitely coming back to try more.

Great Mexican food, period. This place has been here for as far as I can remember, and their food has always been solid. They have delicious seafood options. Also, this is one of the few remaining Mexican restaurants I can think of that still gives you free chips and salsa. And it's really fresh too, they make their own chips so they're still hot when they serve them to you. You order at the counter and they give you a number and then bring you your food at your table when it's ready. The tables are basically self-busing. Laid back vibe and great food, can't ask for more! I always like to stop by for enchiladas, fish tacos, or a quesadilla. And I always end up with leftovers which makes me happy.
