Tastes good and is also one of the more affordable joints in the market. Chicken curry isn't too spicy, it was enjoyable over rice with a salad.

First time trying Konarq at the Public Market. I came by for lunch and it wasn't busy at all. Ordered the eggplant and there wasn't much flavor or spice at all. The salad was bland too. The only thing that had flavor was the rice.Probably will try something else or skip next time.Service was minimal.

This food court is expensive so we decided to eat here because the prices for a plate seemed reasonable. The chicken tikka masala was $12 plus tax. They lifted the lid and it was a terrifying bright red color. I thought tikka masala was supposed to be orange and less threatening lol They pack the plate with yellow rice and pour a heaping spoonful of masala on your rice. It comes with a tiny side cabbage salad. Overall taste id give it a 2-3. Didn't taste very Indian like. The sauce itself was sweet and didn't have the thicken creamy spiced sauce I am used to. The Indian was tender though. The sauce is what threw me off, the color and the sweetness. Would I get it again? Probably not unless I was in a pinch and needed to eat something hefty and more affordable.

A row of colorful pots lines the counter at Konarq, a casual Indian eatery in Emeryville's Public Market. The wide selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian entrees were ready to be dished up in takeout boxes, and my choices were the Masala Chicken, made of tender chunks of dark meat chicken in a spiced gravy made with tomatoes, dairy, and cashews; and the Saag Paneer, made of puréed spinach and cubes of cottage cheese. With the entrees came a pickled cabbage slaw, and a chewy, doughy naan bread baked fresh in the tandoor oven--perfect for dipping into and eating with the curries! The spices here were a bit toned down, but the food was still delicious and came at a good value with friendly service and generous portions!

I wasn't hoping too much about this place, but it turned out...omg...what a wonderful spot. Their curry sauce was right on spot, the meat was tender, mixed and cooked well with the sauce. Their vegetables, omg, so good. I don't know what sauce or oil they use, but it tastes so good. I came back and asked for more. Their garlic naan is also good yet different than other places. They used minced garlic, rather than freshly chopped garlic. It added some special flavors. I will definitely come back. What a good place.

Since I was a teen I've been coming to Emeryville market. This restaurant is one of few that's been there and survived all the changes. Food is always good! Chicken vindaloo and the lemon honey chicken is always my go to along with their garlic naan. Good portions and flavorful.

The menu was a good size--compact enough for food to be freshly made daily, but big enough to give plenty of options. It's always nice when a group of vegetarians can have enough items to order and share. The price and serving size was a good value. The food is all in warming in Dutch ovens and ready to scoop, so service is super fast. The food unfortunately was bland and watery. The over-boiled vegetables barely added flavor or texture, and the sauce overall needed more seasoning and salt. I liked the saag paneer more than the aloo gobi. I ate all of what I ordered, but I left feeling unsatisfied..I want restaurants in the Public Market to succeed, but the food often matches the general lonely and slightly hollow aesthetic of the eating area.

I've eaten here before. It used to be pretty good. Unfortunately, I only really get the Chicken Tikka Masala. That may not be the barometer that most people use, but for "food court" Indian food, this is mine. The Tikka Masala I was served a few days ago was lacking in flavor and I had a lot of burnt pieces of the grilled chicken, which didn't help. It didn't have that freshly made taste. I'm not blind, I see the dishes are kept in warming pots, but I have to wonder if this was perhaps left over from the weekend or what. It definitely didn't taste like it was made that day. Too bad.

Located inside Emeryville Public Market. Parking options include parking lots and street parking and it is easily accessible from the Emery Go-Round.I have not dined here as much as some of the other Public Market options but my solid go to here is the samosas. They are vegetarian and $4 for 2, but be sure to ask for the sauces that come with it. There are lots of premade meal options you can see on display so you can look at most everything before you buy it.

Just had a delicious lamb curry at Konarq, in the food court. Very generous portion of curry and rice, with salad on the side. Thanks and see you next time.
