Kizuna

Such a hidden gem! It doesn't look like much at first glance but the curry here is amazing! The curry katsu is my favorite in the bay and the udon is really great as well. We came recently for a late Saturday lunch and found ourselves quickly seated. There's a few tables inside but this is also a great takeout spot. For a starter, we got the agadashi tofu which was light and perfectly fried. For entrees, the chicken katsu curry as well as the curry udon and both were fantastic. The chicken katsu was perfectly crispy outside and super juicy inside. Served with a rich curry sauce on the side (which is great to keep the chicken crisp), the set came with salad and mac salad as well. We'll definitely be back to try the pork katsu as well and excited to have found another go-to take out spot.

We went to Kizuna while we were visiting family in California for Christmas and New Years. We met up with friends who it was also their first time coming to Kizuna. They took us in right away and helped us right away. The service was great. They had a pretty extensive menu also so there was a lot to choose from. All of us ordered and we waited just a little before our food carne out.We were a little stunned when the food came out because we were eating in the restaurant. All the food came out on paper plates with disposable silverware or disposable bowls. It definitely caught us off guard. I got the oyakodonbori and it was in a disposable bowl. We quickly got over the presentation when we tasted the food. It was really good. I enjoyed my oyakodonbori. Other people ordered the combination meals and they enjoyed their meal as well too. Overall it was a rather great meal and it was pretty affordable. So don't worry about the presentation, it tastes good, trust me.

Pretty impressed by this restaurant's katsu curry! I got take-out on a Thursday evening. It wasn't too crowded - only 2-3 parties were dining in at the time. It's a pretty small, peaceful restaurant with a few tables inside and outdoor seating available as well. They seemed to be pretty busy with take-out orders. The cashier was very kind.I ordered a chicken katsu curry and it was ready in less than 10 minutes. Aside from the chicken katsu and curry (curry comes in separate container), they also included a side of salad, some mac salad, and some edamame. They also give pickled radish in a small container. I usually go for pork katsu, but the chicken katsu was delicious and more tender than I expected! The rice texture was good too, not too soggy and not too hard. Curry consistency was thick and not too watery, which I enjoyed. Overall I think the quality is really good here and I would definitely come back!

Kakiage udon Everything here was still Covid procedures. Had plastic plates, bowls, utensils. Had to self serve and clean up essentially. There is about only 4 tables open sit in this resturant. The Udon was decent, but nothing special. It just reminded me of the udon Costco package. The tempura bundle was so huge I coudknt finish it all. It also didn't fit in my udon bowl to dip.

I already had a good feeling about the food here right from arrival as the majority of people dining at the time were chatting in Japanese lol. A small, no-frills spot but sometimes these kinds of places have the comfiest of comfort food!---------------Agedashi tofu: tofu was melt-in-your-mouth silky smooth and the broth was soothing and flavorful.Katsu curry: katsu was crispy with a uniform non-greasy bread coating and the curry sauce actually tasted house-made not being over-reliant on instant curry blocks like how some much-fancier Japanese restaurants are. Not strikingly salty and had a complex hearty taste.Curry udon: same great curry sauce with plump udon noodles.---------------At the time of my visit (May of this year) there was very minimal waiter service with ordering being through QR code at the table. Self-service water station and bus own table before leaving. Unsure if any of these protocols have changed since my visit.Overall a nice place to chill with delicious no-fuss Japanese comfort food!

Sooooo flavorful! I've been to Japanese curry places from SF to the South Bay. They all satisfy your craving for a bowl of rice with a lot of curry sauce and a friend piece of protein. BUT, here at Kizuna everything part of that same dish has so much flavor. The curry has depth, the pork is light and crispy and finished just right! I will be back over and over!

Just wanted to write a goodbye review for Kizuna. I would get takeout from them almost every week, or when I'm in a rush and craving some Japanese food. Service was quick and the owner and workers were all so polite. Food was very authentic, and flavors were very close to what I've had in Japan. My go-to orders were the Katsu Don and Katsu Curry.The Katsu Don pork slices were deliciously cooked with eggs and onions, and portions were quite decent. I haven't found another place that makes katsu don as good as they do, and will surely miss the food. The katsu that came with the curry was also really good and crunchy. They packed everything nicely, and the dishes came with some salad and sides. My personal favorite side was the imitation crab and mac salad. Hope I can find another place to satisfy my Japanese cravings but until then... "arigato and sayonara!"

Very good food, fresh cooked and tasty. Very friendly services. Will definitely be back as regular

I just picked up their chicken katsu. The lady said $15.95 over the phone. This bitch charges me $20.00 when I get there. F this place!!!
