As someone living in Mountain View, this is the best sushi you can get for a good price. Specifically, their creative rolls never disappoint and are constantly high quality. My favorites are the Sex on the Mountain, Goku, and DBZ rolls. Bonus points for the fun names originating from Dragon Ball :) If you come during lunch time their bento boxes are a good deal too and will leave you full for the whole day.If you order to-go, I have found the tonkatsu or the galbi ribs to not be as good -- but would recommend instead the mackerel and sashimi/rolls.

Good customer service , efficient . Menu has a lot of selection: rolls , sushi combo , sashimi combo , grilled fish , skewers, Chirashi Dunburi , etc The portion is generous for the price . It is 30 % less expensive than the Japanese restaurant one block away . The tonkatsu and grilled chicken tastes the same as Tomi Sushi . May be the Sashimi in Tomi Sushi is a tiny bit more fresh and tasty . It opens at 5 pm in the evening. We arrived at 5:35 pm and only 2 tables left . Overall it is a good dinning experience.

Ambience/General: We went to this restaurant because we were in downtown Mountain View before a Stanford Men's Basketball Game and wanted to find a quick Japanese. All in all this is a GOOD value for money. The Ambience is not bad.Service: The folks serving us were very nice and prompt in getting us our drinks and our food.Food: The food was good (not great but good) enough for us to come back again for sure. Here is what we ordered:* Two Item Bento: Salmon Teriyaki and Beef Ribs. I don't like either of those but it looked good (my Mother and Father-in-Law had this)* Chicken Katsu: My sons get this and they loved it. THIS IS A HUGE WIN :) * G5. Sushi Combo B (this is what I got): I substituted Spicy Tuna roll for the California Roll for +$3 and I would have to say it was a steal at this price. It was tasty and the fish were fresh. * Starters - Jalapeno Poppers: This was just "OK" - it was way too smokey. I didn't care for it. - Shishito Peppers: It was "OK"- Bacon wrapped mushroom: This was OUTSTANDINGAll in all this place is a good value for money. I would go back again.C

I was set to visit Downtown Mountain View on a Saturday for the first time in many years and had scoped out Kakaroto as the place to grab a late lunch. You have your pick of cuisine on Castro and the side streets. Wanting to go for something I haven't had in a long time (Japanese) Kakaroto fit the bill-- they serve lunch every day they are open and they have my favorite two items to combine in their Bento Box.Coming in at around 1 pm, the restaurant still had lots of diners but also plenty of open tables for us to be seated right away. We were immediately offered hot tea and water. All three of us wanted water, I was the only one who wanted tea. The server ended up bringing us all tea, but no water. While that was eventually rectified, the tea could have been refreshed mid meal but was only done so when the last few bites were being taken.Three Lunch Boxes were ordered in a few combinations--Mixed Tempura & California Roll, Mixed Tempura & Salmon Teriyaki, Mixed Tempura & Chicken Teriyaki. The boxes were well appointed and attractive. The salmon teriyaki was, unfortunately, overcooked. The chicken had some overly scorched spots but the teriyaki sauce had good flavor. Salad dressing was very tasty but got watered down at the bottom from the lettuce. The absolute stand out was the rice. The scoop in the box was absolutely delicious and made the California Roll probably the best I've ever had. They were perfectly petite for the perfect bite. Would definitely return to try some more rolls.

I got the Hey, Hamachi roll and I shared the poke salad with my partner. The poke was fresh and very tasty, it comes with cucumber, onions and avocado. The dressing was light and tied the whole salad together. The Hamachi roll was also a very tasty as well, I liked how fresh the fish tasted in both dishes. The staff is very attentive as well. Come check this place out the next time you are in Mountain View!

Really good sushi rolls. They're about $14 for a fancy roll and $8 for a basic roll. It is pretty crowded dine in but the wait was still short about 10 minutes wait. You can call ahead for reservations. There is a parking lot behind the building if you cannot find street parking. Kids meals are only $10, and comes with soup and ice cream.

Good food and good price... especially for sushi/Japanese. It is slightly off the Main Street, so it is less crowded and easier to find parking. A huge bonus for us is that they were willing to accept a reservation... for 14 of us! :)My kids enjoy their food - and they have kids meals that are tailored perfectly to them. Servers are friendly and attentive. And happy to make recommendations if you don't know what to get. While you cannot enter from the parking lot at the rear, you can exit that way.

Visited the restaurant for the first time yesterday during the rain. There was no wait time and it was so cozy inside! I loved the layout and the atmosphere. The choices on the menu are various and there were even items I've not seen on any other menus so I'll definitely some back to try new things! The prices were very reasonable and the portions were good, while the food itself was delicious. Also, very nice waiters who checked in on us a were very helpful. Happy New Years, I'll be definitely back in 2025 :)

The best sushi place around and it's our go-to. Bento is priced as expected, but for lunch is nearly the same menu and a fair bit cheaper. Very big and filling meal. The fish quality matches the price and the grilled fish isn't dry. The miso is a bit sweet, but it's fine. There is usually never a wait.
