I was craving some tonkatsu and dropped by the ghost kitchen this place is located in. Placed an order and was able to pick up in 15 or so minutes. I got the Anshim katsu, which came with rice and shredded cabbage and 2 pork tenderloin cutlets cut up. I love the type of breading they use, which is crispier and lighter than others. The cutlets are separated by an oil-absorbing paper, which is a nice touch. The meat was cooked perfectly, and still juicy. It comes with katsu sauce, but honestly I preferred the cutlet by itself. But the sauce was tangy and tasted good. They give tons of rice and the cabbage comes with a dressing that compliments it well. The food came out hot, showing the cutlets were freshly fried! There is no seating since it is a ghost kitchen. It can also get crowded because there are a lot of pick-ups. But I really enjoyed the meal and would go back. Maybe for the cheese katsu.

The katsu was super fresh and crispy. Perfect texture. Reminds me of good katsu I had in Hawaii. This is definitely the best tonkatsu I have had in California. My only complaint is this is not a sit down restaurant. I had to go find a place to sit and eat it while it was hot. There were so many delivery pickup people at the lockers when I got there. The pickup system was easy to figure out for me, but may be too complicated for non-tech-savvy folks like my parents. I wish they had a sit down restaurant.

What's a good way to get to know someone you just met? Take them out to lunch. My friend and I live super close to this joint and I really wanted to try it so off we go. This is a foodhall so there's little to no interaction with a human. We placed our order online and about 20 minutes later, you receive a text notification that your food will either be ready for pick up at the counter or in the locker. Anshim Katsu - holy smokes. I mean, I don't eat too much katsu but when I do, most taste pretty standard and nothing amazing. But this. Prepared to blow your socks off. The light flaky crispy panko crust was perfect. The meat was tender. I also appreciate that they separated the sauce for the katsu and the salad so that it doesn't get soggy, smart.Overall, this is the best katsu I've had in the bay. Will come back to try the other katsu's.

Loved it! Portion was huge! The pork was so tender my eyes were rolling!! And the panko was homemade! Amazing! The way it was packaged ensured it stayed crunchy even with delivery! Loved the miso soup too!

Ventured across the bay bridge and wanted to try Jungdon Katsu! This place did not disappoint! Using the QR code, I placed an order for pork tenderloin katsu. Waited for about 10-15 minutes in the sun. Then I got a text saying my food is in the locker and I just need to pick it up. Just follow the directions. Very easy! Too bad there are no seats. My friends and I wanted to eat a few pieces fresh before driving off to another location. So we grabbed forks and dug right in! You can taste the freshness because the panko was light and meat was juicy! Very good and enjoyable! Wouldn't hesitate coming back and trying the rest of the menu! But we aren't in the east bay much but we'll remember to come back if we're in the area! 5/5

This is a ghost kitchen. Once you order it online, you pick it up inside where there are lockers for you to pick up your food. So will need to show your screen with your name to the computer and they it will assign you a locker. You open the locker with your phone. It's a pretty cool concept! Love the foood!!

The. BEST. Katsu. EVER! First thing to note, Jungdon Katsu is located in a food hall where you order through tablets then the food is put in a locker when it's ready. It is not a sit down restaurant, don't be confused like I was lol. They offer different types of katsu but the cheese katsu was yelling my name. Mozzarella wrapped in pork tenderloin, how could you say no?! You can tell the food is made fresh and the portions are huge. The katsu itself was flaky, crispy and savory! The cheese in the katsu exceeded my expectations and the sauce was a plussss. It's pricey but worth every penny! Jungdon Katsu has been added to my MANDO STOPS if in the area. 1000% would recommend this place to all my family and friends!

This was not a sit down restaurant like we expected and that's on us. However the meal was not crispy or up to what we had in our minds so we'd probably give this a skip personally. However it was quick service.

Had an errand up in Alameda so we ordered ahead at Jungdon for pick up. It's a ghost kitchen so can't speak to the ambiance but the person who handed me out my order was nice! We ordered: Cheese Katsu: imo this was too much cheese - it was really salty and I couldn't even taste the pork. parts of the cheese were also cold and in their shredded form instead of melted together. Deluxe Anshim Katsu: katsu was fantastic, breading and pork were super soft and the breading tasted like fresh bread rather than panko. i don't think i would get the deluxe version again though, it came with a lot of extra cabbage, potato salad. i'm not sure if the deluxe came with two katsus instead of one, but one was enough for me anyway. Curry sauce: not worth it

Hard day? Nothing makes it better than ordering takeout of the literal BEST chicken katsu in the Easy Bay. I like to order myself the Deluxe Chicken Katsu whenever I've had a tough day, and it always makes it better. The $32 price tag feels a bit steep at first, but the amount of food that comes with it is easily enough for two people -- or, in my case, a dinner and a lunch for they next day. Two perfectly flaky and crispy chicken breasts, three scoops of rice, two scoops of their house potato salad, a miso soup, and a generous heap of finely shredded cabbage with a sour vinaigrette. It's the perfect dressing to cut the heavy chicken and savory katsu sauce. Every texture is unique and works well with the others, making for a delightfully varied meal. I've only ever ordered from here online, but I imagine the service and ambience matches the same level of clean, simple detail that the food so perfectly nails.
