What an unusual place Jenny's kitchen is. It's located at 5175 Moorpark Ave, Ste 5, San Jose, CA 95129. Corner of Lawrence Expressway and Moorpark. It's in an old strip mall where all the businesses are gone. It is the only one left. What brought me here was the scallion pancakes, as very few places have them It is strictly a grab and go with pre made buns in freezers/refrigerators. There is a huge selection of foods, some I've never seen. The lady behind the counter was very nice and explained what everything was. She offered a suggestion of housemaid noodles with steamed vegetables. I bought a few other things such as pork sandwiches, lots of scallion pancakes, and of course the noodles. By the time I was done I spent $43. I also took home a sesame seed bean ball. The lady behind the counter was the best sales person I ever met. I did not feel pressured in any way to purchase. Every item that I saw was clearly marked with prices. So when I left the store I could not believe how heavy the bag was. I put the noodles in the microwave to warm up a bit. Let me tell you this was the best noodles and and steamed vegetables I have had in a very long time. There was very little grease on them if any, and the taste was marvelous. The scallion pancakes were just like any other scallion pancake I had tried-Only Better! You take them and they are fresh, but it's a good idea to put them in a pan on the stove to warm them up a bit. The sesame seed ball was huge and excellent. I usually don't like those but I sure like this one. And I know you're all wondering how did all this food affect my delicate stomach? It had no effect at all. It was absolutely the best meal that I have had and I have lots left over for another meal. This is my new to-go place and I plan to try other items. This is a five-star grab and go place, as far as I'm concerned. It is very clean inside, they do have a patio area to eat but most of the food you buy will have to be warmed up somehow. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jenny's kitchen!

Great Chinese take out place. Portions are very generous for the prices. Service is fast (though they'll often try to upsell you) and much better than typical Chinese restaurant culture. Ambiance: it's take out only.Favorite dishes: chive egg pancake, veggies, diet tofu, beef wrap.

I am a fan! This is a small authentic spot serving some yummy Chinese take out food. I was initially concerned about how to communicate since everyone was only speaking Chinese. Thankfully there were fluent and I picked up a meat pie and a combo. Both were delicious. Food is solid 4 but bumping up to 5 for the service. Both the folks who were working here were so courteous and helpful.

WOWWWW deeply impressed. super home made and quality taste!! got pork buns, beef buns, thousand layer meat pie, 2 kinds of sticky rice in bamboo leafs, one purple rice roll with pork song and Chinese donut, 2 diff kinds of sesame pastries and one sesame walnut moon cake! everything was really good! some of the highlight below: -the dough of thousand layer meat pie was so chewy and much better than i thought. -Beef buns were a special and they were super flavorful and very generous of the filling too! -Pork buns were probably the only things that were not "as special" since i have had better elsewhere but still, it's that homey taste i really like!

This place is a low-key, hole in the wall place... great for takeaway snacks, mooncake, fantuan, silken tofu... being able to speak Mandarin here is a plus. Service is direct and abrupt - adds to an authentic feel in this busy shop this way - I don't mind the lack of friendliness. The food is fresh, made in house and quality around 4/5... pretty good but I've had some better elsewhere. But the variety of dian xin available for Grab-n-Go is wonderful and worth it. From pig feet, tofu, vegetables, soy milk, chive pie, bao dz, frozen dumplings, ... sooo many things here. There are better fantuan elsewhere but it's convenient here. The Mooncakes have so many types/flavors - taro, pineapple, red bean... about a dozen different types. I dropped a small fortune here on Mooncakes - $6-7/ea! Great shop for picking up Chinese treats, especially around holidays and special occasions.

Nice place strangely enough. After driving by here multiple times I managed to come here. The food is really good and makes a good grab and go. Note: There is like no place to sit so your best bet is to grab the food you like and go. There seems to be a lot of dough related foods as well as some Taiwanese specialties. They also have some cool drinks here from TW aside from other selections that you see in the US. The service is nice in the way whomever helped me explained everything for me to understand.Drawback: Signs are in Chinese and if you cannot read it things can be difficult. However this doesn't mean GIVE UP. The staff was nice enough to explain everything in English if needed. I was amazed by how they responded back in English. Don't be shocked if they do. I don't like the prices but it is what it is.

Green onion pancake and the stuffed chive pancake were underwhelming. There's no seasoning/salt so it just tasted like raw dough. I agree it is not crispy like how restaurants make cong you bing (or how I make it at home), but maybe their style is to make it more doughy. I would not reorder these and sadly, I'll have to just toss them because they taste wrong to me. I will not rate these because I think they had an off day (everyone raved about the chive pancake) and maybe their style is just doughy. Fan Tuan (rice burrito) and you tiao (Chinese donut) hit the spot. I agree the fan tuan is a little wet. I thought the rice ratio to filling was good/normal. 4/5Service - I can't speak mandarin well so they were accommodating. They did offer other goods they sold to see if I would be interested. I didn't interpret this as being pushy. I thought they were polite and just doing business :)

The food at Jenny's kitchen is tasty but I sometimes I'm in the mood for something but it isn't available. Their model is definitely not catering to people who come craving something specific but there is usually something that I can find to fill me up. I do wish it were more English -friendly because sometimes I am not sure what a dish is and nobody can explain it. I love the Chinese spinach buns!
