I visited on a Monday and was pleasantly surprised to find no line. We were seated and served quickly, which set the tone for a great dining experience. We ordered the tofu soup, and it was absolutely delicious--served piping hot and perfectly satisfying. They also bring out 10 side dishes (plenty for two people) along with hot tea, which was a lovely touch.Although the tofu soup may look small in photos, it's surprisingly filling. The service was efficient and friendly, and the waitstaff made sure everything was taken care of. I also appreciated the spacious layout of the restaurant--it felt comfortable and not cramped like some other spots.Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely return to Jang Su Jang!

Food is good, but it doesn't taste as good with their rude servers. Super stingy on their side dishes and gave me attitude when I would ask for a refill. I asked for more on ONE side dish so they wouldn't have walk back and forth so much, but they gave me the same amount/less, with an extra side of annoyance. Ambiance, obviously according to what I just experienced, not as good as it could be. I may have just got a bad server, but I probably won't come back after this experience. Food isn't worth the experience.

I used to enjoy going to Jang Su Jang on El Camino Real. It was one of the first few Korean restaurants in the area with a good sized space and an inviting atmosphere. In the beginning, the food was excellent, but over the years, it has become just okay. The side dishes are decent, though nothing particularly special. That said, I still really like their yookgaejang and mandooguk, and I wouldn't mind going there with a group. However, with more Korean restaurants opening along El Camino Real, I now have more options to choose from which is definitely a good thing!

Went here with my bff for our lunch before walking along El Camino Real. It's been awhile since I ate here but it's the first time for my gf. We ordered beef dolsot bibimbab and tofu soup. The bibimbab was delicious but the soup with medium spicy was bland for us. The bancan were delicious. The staff were efficient and nice. We're asking for hot tea refills for a few times and they didn't give us a hard time. For lunch the ambiance felt casual, we didn't feel out of place with our exercise gear. Fyi, their bbq was good from my experience.

I had a solo lunch today and I was about to go across the street to the pho place but I thought oh! What if i get noodles at jangsujang! Boy, ordering a $23 bibimnyunmyun, they brought out 9 panchans. They were all great! My meal was quick and service was good. Overall with tip it was under $30. Not bad! I couldn't finish all the noodles but finished all the panchan! Yum! They gave me a To go bowl for my left overs. I really enjoyed this nutritious meal.

If you want top quality KBBQ, Jang Su Jang is your spot to go! On the more expensive side, but you get the better quality meat and the nice Korean aunties cooking your meat for you. The seafood pancake here is a must, and with the orders of meat you also get a steamed egg and small soybean soup. Ask for the lettuce wraps and you can feel a bit healthier eating all the meat! The banchan is also always on point - always fresh side dishes and every time you come there is a variety, depending on the day. Overall, A+ spot for KBBQ!!

What's going on with this shopping center? It's like dead. All boarded up except for this restaurant and possibly another one a thousand feet a way. Creepy. This is part of a chain of a high-end Korean restaurant. They do both Korean BBQ and normal dishes. We came for a lunch, not doing BBQ.Must say it was mediocre. Nothing to complain and nothing that was impressive. Particularly disappointed at the famed seafood pancake. Really mediocre in texture, ingredients, and the final delivery.Seafood Soon Tofu was quite enjoyable. LA Galbi was very good. Bibimbop was a looker, but not that great.

One of my friend's favorite Korean restaurants in the area and I was so excited to try it. They had a variety of traditional dishes from tofu soups to noodles to bbq meats. They had some bbq tables in the restaurant as well but we decided to order some dishes to try. Soon after we ordered, they brought out probably one of the largest arrays of banchans I have ever gotten at a restaurant. The kimchi, potato and fish tofu were my favorites. Mushroom Soon Tofu - The soup was comforting, warm and mildly spicy. I think we wanted a little more punchiness in the dish but all ingredients from the tofu and mix of mushrooms were soft and cooked well inside. Bossam Jungsik - I had been craving good bossam and this one hit the spot. The pieces were perfectly soft and had a nice bite to them. The combination of radish kimchi with the pickled radish and the lettuce was so good, making the best wrap of sweet, sour, spicy and freshness. We only ordered one serving size and it was so filling already. The staff were very efficient and attentive, helping us pack our food at the end of our meal. Everything was so fresh from the banchans to our mains and my friend recommends trying the cold noodles or dumpling soup so I will be coming back to try more.

Came by for a Thursday dinner at 6PM. We ordered:-seafood pancake $29: pricey, wasn't as crispy as I would like-ddeok bokki $23: also pricey, flavors were ok-jangsujang bossam $55: flavors were good-JSJ BBQ combo $150Side dishes were very good. Food overall was good, but nothing spectacular. The pricing is a bit extra...for what you get. Value-wise, definitely a knock. Easy parking in the plaza.

Michelin-recommended, and for good reason, Jang Su Jang will fill your soul with delicious food.Jang Su Jang is in a strip mall so quiet that at first, I wondered if I was at the right place when I got there for lunch. But as soon as I walked through the doors, I knew I had found it; the restaurant bustled with activity, and servers moved deftly among the tables with steaming bowls of stew and sizzling plates of meats. The place looked inviting, and I was eager to have lunch. It wasn't long before we were seated, and the servers quickly set glasses of water before us. The menu had a variety of entrées, and I took my time to look through the soups, noodles, barbecues, and meats before deciding on a beef bibimbap. So much of a good food experience is presentation, and this was no different with my bowl of bibimbap. Upside-down fried egg over a mountain of lettuce and white rice, meats on the right, vegetables on the left, and a garnish of sesame seeds on top. Everything had been placed with flair. The food itself tasted good too. The marinated beef was tender and flavorful, and as I made my way around the bowl from the beef to the vegetables, I realized that the vegetables complemented one another. Umami shiitake and bean sprouts, crunchy daikon and tender carrots, crispy seaweed and sauteed spinach. The fried egg on top was runny and just so. The fluffy rice tied everything together, and it all made for one very filling lunch!I had a delightful bowl of bibimbap at Jang Su Jang, and I'm definitely returning for more next time.
