James Standfield Catering

I wish they have a small take out place as I really missed their food. When I use to work for a company in south San Francisco this is our go to place for all our catering needs.

Amazing food. I have had 5 corporate events catered by them and each time guest want to know where I got the food. Food is is tasty, large portions, clean, covered correctly, and delivered on time. I have talked to Cristina or Mirna each time and I can normally squeeze in my order within 24 hours. Having them cater another large event next month. Definitely my go to catering company.

This is a LONG overdue review for James Standfield Catering (JSC). We got married at the Gamble Gardens in Palo Alto in June 2011 and had out wedding catered by JSC. We chose JSC because of Alicia we met with her for our tasting and the service was amazing! I knew with her in charge and the food we tasted things would go beautifully. I was right Alicia went above and beyond she was the catering service and a day of coordinator. Our wedding was perfect! Thanks Alicia and James Standfield catering.

We hired James Standfield to cater our wedding reception at our home, and the whole experience from start to finish was fabulously smooth. Alicia and Cristina were super communicative and responsive, and we really appreciated how flexible they were in adapting to our particular needs. This is really impressive in retrospect given we changed our minds a bunch in figuring out what we wanted!The staff were all extremely professional, as well, and worked seamlessly with our coordinator to pull everything off without a single hitch; we didn't even have to do any clean-up afterwards, which was just the best present to receive after a crazy day.I can't begin to express how great the food was. We got endless compliments on how delicious the seafood paella + pesto rack of lamb were, in addition to the crab cakes, mini beef wellingtons, and dim sum served beforehand. All of it was just absolutely fantastic -- I kind of can't believe how well James Standfield prepares such a wide variety of foods.All of this added up to a _huge_ load off of our backs when doing wedding planning. James Standfield made what was already a special day all that more perfect; strongly recommend you try them out and schedule a tasting.

We booked James Standfield Catering for our wedding and they made us confident in their ability to execute throughout the entire process--from the tasting to our actual wedding day. The caterer was the most important component of the wedding for us especially since we needed event services as well. We had about 150 guests and a more complicated seating arrangement of long tables. James Standfield came recommended by the venue and when we booked the tasting, we knew immediately that they were the best fit for us. They were able to do everything that we needed--secure rentals at a great rate, arrange the ceremony and reception floor plans without a hitch, and serve delicious food. Renee and Cristina made everything easy (very accessible via phone and email) and during the day-of they were so attentive to all of the details. Most importantly, our guests loved the food!

My family has used James Stanfield for some family events over the years so I decided to use them for my friend's wedding shower and pool party that we hosted at our home. We ordered their stuffed chicken, ravioli and paella for past parties but for our pool party we chose the BBQ chicken and ribs menu. Our guests loved the food and so did we. I deducted one star because the red linen tablecloth they brought had a lot of stains on it and their chafing dishes looked like they have seen better days (one cover had a loose handle). Other than that, I will definitely call on them again for our next party but I will be sure to request stain free or cleaner linens and better chafing dishes.

The food was supposed to come at 4:30 PM for our holiday party and has still not arrived more than 50 minutes later. We have called the person who is delivering it but they are not answering. Some of the guests have already left. Hopefully it will arrive soon. :-(

James Standfield had catered my wedding. Their service and quality of food is definitely worth the money you pay. Throughout the entire process of getting the quotes, to the taste testing, and even through a few bumps in the service, they had always came through to meet our needs and make us happy. We had dealt with Alicia who is an expert in her field of delivering taste and excellent service. We had the prime rib and salmon buffet for our wedding, and everything had come out to our expectations. I highly reccomend James Standfield for your catering needs may it be a small party or a large event. The only reason why they did not get 5 stars is because we did have one minor issue that I will keep undisclosed, but they did compensate us with something all of us could agree on. I will definitely be considering them again for our catering needs!

We've used James Standfield at our work events for years and everything is always excellent. James is so nice and accommodating, as is all of his staff - very professional. Several years ago we had a family member have a very serious medical emergency and so our family Thanksgiving was somewhat canceled. We were able to order a family-sized catered meal at the last minute and it truly made a challenging time for us a little easier and we were able to have a nice celebration. Thank you James Standfield, I've never forgotten that.
