Its been one my friends fav matcha places, but I never checked it out before it became viral. Decided to finally join the hype and check this place out. The lines are def shorter at this location compared to the other one.I got the creme brulee matcha swirl and it was goooood! I def get the hype for this as it's one of my fav matcha brulee places now! I only went once, hopefully it's still good whenever I decide to get it again. My bf got the lychee matcha tea. He's not a matcha fan, but actually enjoyed it so this is a huge compliment from him hehe.Parking lot can be busy. Not much seating inside for now as it's busy/crowded. But still not as bad as the other location.

Don't come on a weekend if you're able to lol the line is crazy long, but it was nice that it moved pretty quickly. Parking was really hard at this location too, probably because it's just a busy plaza and there's a variety of restaurants and other boba shops here. When you come in, there's only one kiosk to order from and that's so the workers have enough time to get the drinks out more quickly. My friend and I came on a Saturday afternoon and both got the strawberry yuzu matcha tea and we both really liked it! What's nice about izumi matcha is that they're very consistent with their drinks. We were happy that we could taste both the strawberry and yuzu flavor equally in our matcha drinks, and neither flavor overpowered the other. Also, I thought I was prepared enough to possibly buy some matcha powder at this place but nope! I knew you were supposed to check out their ig account for their "rules" but on a sticky note at the front it said they only take cash and I didn't see anything that took cash at the kiosk so I asked one of the workers and she said it's through the kiosk. It was already too late since my friend and I finished ordering and we were out of line already. I also feel bad for the workers since there's only two of them and there was always a long line out the door ):

I love this place so much and the workers that put in the hard work, but the owners here do NOT understand how to run a business. You have two workers every busy night working their tails off. There's legit 1,000 people Please help them out before you lose them. It would not hurt your business by adding extra labor to your P&L. Workers - 5 stars Owner/Management - Negative Stars

Came here because I was craving a strawberry matcha. I seen this place over in Cupertino near the Sanrio that recently opened up, but that location had a line going out the door so I passed on it. Didn't realize this was the same place! This location has shorter lines, or at least when I went there was only a couple of people in line. The inside is pretty small - they have a couple of tables with chairs & a bench along the wall. Probably not somewhere you'd want to sit and enjoy your drink. You can order at the kiosk or order with the workers if you are paying cash. I ordered the strawberry matcha latte & give is 6.5/10. The matcha is premade, which I kind of expected but it's not bad. The strawberry puree was probably my favorite part of the drink. They also sell matcha powder but you have to go to their Instagram & follow the "rules" they have before trying to purchase the matcha powder.

Came here after eating next door and this hit the spot! You order through the kiosk and then wait to be called. There are just a few tables along the side, so it seems that most people grab and go. I tried their classic matcha drink, and it was good! Good matcha flavor, earthy tones. The matcha ice cream was not bad either, but I liked my drink more. Would I come here again? Maybe. I think I need to go try the other matcha place first and then decide which one I like more.

Despite the Cupertino location going viral, the San Jose location is actually the original that I have been going to since high school. Izumi Matcha is one of my favorite matcha places in the South Bay! They use my favorite Matcha, marukyu koyamaen, which they also sell - though it is typically sold out. My favorite drinks here are the honey matcha latte and yuzu matcha. The honey matcha latte is solid all around, and the yuzu matcha is perfect for hot days as it is refreshing and citrusy. A plus about this matcha place is they also provide the option for a free additional matcha shot if you like your matcha strong. I also get less sweetness and less ice. There is no sweetness adjustment for the creme brulee matcha which is personally a little too heavy and sweet for me if you also have the same preferences. Last time I was here, I stopped by after dinner on a Monday, a small line started to form, but the staff seemed well prepared for rush and service was relatively fast. The ambience here is fine - I have heard a wide range of different music genres here that is probably based on staff. I give this location 4/5 though because going to both San Jose and Cupertino locations, however, I personally found the quality of the San Jose location's drinks to be slightly lower than the Cupertino location. I'm not sure why since this is the original location but it's been hit or miss. That being said, the San Jose location is also much less crowded so there typically isn't a big wait time. I like how there is seating at the San Jose so you're able to sit down and hang out with your friends here, which isn't available in the Cupertino location. The San Jose location seems to also have more items on the menu such as taiyaki. Both the SJ and Cupertino have ordering via a kiosk and their own 8% cashback loyalty program when purchasing with your number

We arrived right when they opened and found a short line. From what I've heard, this location is less popular than the Cupertino one. Ordering was by a kiosk so there wasn't much interaction with the staff. The wait was minimal. Strangely it was very quiet, no music just a line of serious matcha lovers. We ordered the strawberry matcha latte and strawberry matcha yuzu tea. Unfortunately the peach tea drink wasn't available but we went with our other choices and weren't disappointed. The drinks were beautifully layered with vibrant colors and fresh strawberry pieces at the bottom. I highly recommend getting the larger straw to fully enjoy the fruit chunks. Both drinks were delicious and well worth the price. Looking forward to a return trip for the peach drink!

After seeing the Tiktok craze about the Cupertino location, I had to try this one that was MUCH closer to where I lived. The store is always pretty crowded when I have gone this winter. I have tried their Honey Matcha Latte and their Yuzu Strawberry Matcha. The latte is pretty good for their signature drink, but I always felt like it could be a bit sweeter even at 100% sweetness, and the matcha felt a bit chalky.I personally liked the Yuzu Strawberry drink more and felt that the flavors mixed well together! I was a bit hesitant to order this drink because of its unique flavor profile, but ended up loving the combination.A good alternative to the hectic Cupertino location! Let's hope this location doesn't start getting mentioned soon.

Too much hype. I'm glad I didn't go to their other location where the line is out the door. The line here took long but not as bad as the other location. Their location here is very cramped. Especially with all the DoorDash people just standing in front where you pick up your drinks. They have a kiosk to order from.Ordered the honey matcha and the matcha with creama and they were mid. They weren't worth the wait though. Lots of other places you can go to that are better to be honest.

Izumi is always a yes! This location is just as great as the Cupertino location MINUS the line due to TikTok overhype (lol). And I know this location is the OG. I do agree with another review about how there should be more employees - I feel terribly bad whenever I see them working their butts off every night I come by. Matcha has become a super craze here in the Bay Area thanks to social media and while it's amazing that local businesses are now doing so well due to the influx of customers, it'd be great for the employees to be given their fair share of R&R.
